Wells Fargo Launches A New Program With Bishop T.D. Jakes That Has People Fuming.

What yall think? Some on the internet are questioning this Wells Fargo deal....asking if there were no Non-Profit housing organizations in need of funding? The last time these banks worked with churches, they trapped Black folks into subprime home loans (Housing crisis/Great Recession 07/08).

In my opinion, anything with Wells Fargo is a scam. The fact that they made this partnership with T.D. Jakes makes the deal sketchy to me, especially from the article: Wells Fargo's bad reputation isn't a recent acquisition, either. Back in 2013, the bank paid a $175 million settlement in response to allegations that it offered higher rates and mortgage fees to Black and Hispanic candidates. You Can Read About Here:

Bishop T.D. Jakes’s multiple-enterprise holding company has announced a 10-year, billion-dollar partnership with Wells Fargo & Company to revitalize neighborhoods, foster economic opportunity, and create long-term change in communities in need across America. The partnership between Wells Fargo and the T.D. Jakes Group, which includes T.D. Jakes Real Estate Ventures, TDJ Enterprises, and T.D. Jakes Foundation will include up to $1 billion in capital and financing from Wells Fargo as well as grants from the Wells Fargo Foundation, the organizations said. Jakes is chairman & CEO of the T.D. Jakes Group.

He also heads T.D. Jakes Ministries is the founder of Dallas megachurch The Potter’s House. In 2022, T.D. Jakes Real Estate Ventures began purchasing nearly 100 acres of Fort McPherson, a former army base near downtown Atlanta, to create a community with commercial and residential space. Plans for the land include mixed-income housing neighborhoods with single-family homes, townhomes, and apartments as well as food and healthcare options, green space, a bike path, and recreation centers. Wells Fargo said that for its first collaboration with the Jakes organization, it will support the Fort McPherson project as a financial partner. The Wells Fargo Foundation and T.D. Jakes Foundation also announced plans to provide financial education in underserved low-and moderate-income communities in Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas and to revitalize neighborhoods by increasing homeownership and fostering business creation.

  2. I am excited that a man of God is doing something for the community. I am so upset that you Pharisees cant see it. Here is a true man of God daring to step out of the box.

  3. I need more information before forming an opinion. I just know that a lot of well intentioned non-profit housing development plans waste a lot of money and never get completed. I'm also very apprehensive when it comes to Wells Fargo. They have a very recent track record of predatory practices. They should not be trusted.
