Wells Fargo Launches A New Program With Bishop T.D. Jakes That Has People Fuming.
What yall think? Some on the internet are questioning this Wells Fargo deal....asking if there were no Non-Profit housing organizations in need of funding? The last time these banks worked with churches, they trapped Black folks into subprime home loans (Housing crisis/Great Recession 07/08).
In my opinion, anything with Wells Fargo is a scam. The fact that they made this partnership with T.D. Jakes makes the deal sketchy to me, especially from the article:
Wells Fargo's bad reputation isn't a recent acquisition, either. Back in 2013, the bank paid a $175 million settlement in response to allegations that it offered higher rates and mortgage fees to Black and Hispanic candidates. You Can Read About Here:
He also heads T.D. Jakes Ministries is the founder of Dallas megachurch The Potter’s House.
In 2022, T.D. Jakes Real Estate Ventures began purchasing nearly 100 acres of Fort McPherson, a former army base near downtown Atlanta, to create a community with commercial and residential space.
Plans for the land include mixed-income housing neighborhoods with single-family homes, townhomes, and apartments as well as food and healthcare options, green space, a bike path, and recreation centers.
Wells Fargo said that for its first collaboration with the Jakes organization, it will support the Fort McPherson project as a financial partner.
The Wells Fargo Foundation and T.D. Jakes Foundation also announced plans to provide financial education in underserved low-and moderate-income communities in Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas and to revitalize neighborhoods by increasing homeownership and fostering business creation.

ReplyDeleteSo I take it that you’re providing housing and opportunity for the black poor and disenfranchised black communities…..
DeleteTouche !!!!!!
DeleteI am excited that a man of God is doing something for the community. I am so upset that you Pharisees cant see it. Here is a true man of God daring to step out of the box.

DeleteI need more information before forming an opinion. I just know that a lot of well intentioned non-profit housing development plans waste a lot of money and never get completed. I'm also very apprehensive when it comes to Wells Fargo. They have a very recent track record of predatory practices. They should not be trusted.
