The pastor of a Tri-State megachurch was in court Friday facing a harassment charge in a case that centers around what the victim describes as revenge porn. Bishop Victor Couzens is the leader of Inspirational Baptist Church. He was reportedly involved in a personal relationship with the New York model Andrea Garrison. But the couple’s relationship took a turn for the worse in 2018 when Garrison turned to social media with posts about Couzens’ alleged shortcomings, court documents show. According to Garrison’s complaint, Couzens then threatened her over the phone, tried to extort her and vowed to release a sex tape. Garrison says the video was recorded in Couzens’ West Chester home without her knowledge and that it was later released without her consent. “What I want is for this man to be held accountable for filming me, creating non-consensual pornography of me,” Garrison said. “I want him held accountable for extorting me, and I want him held accountable for distributing this

Church it’s not looking great for Trump in 2020. On the same day the campaign announced the Trump-branded community centers, the Public Religion Research Institute published a study showing that 77 percent of black Americans hold mostly or very unfavorable views of the president. A poll conducted by Hill-HarrisX last November predicted that 85 percent of African Americans would vote for the Democratic candidate regardless of who the nominee is.

Church according to Memphis Tennesse, cussing pastor Thaddeus Matthews, for the last two and a half years he had paid over $82,000 in cash for rent to Pastor Leon Jones and The dwelling Place Church , to house the ministry of Naked Truth Liberation & Empowerment Ministries . Well according to a couple of Facebook posts by the cussing pastor, that particular deal has gone sour and Jones now wants to evict Matthews for none payment....Matthews has proof that he's not late on rent at all. (You can read about it in the Facebook posts below)  My question is why in the world would a businessman accept cash payments only? Was/is he trying to hide money from his church, wife or government?  

Recently, Comedian Aries Spears appeared for an interview on the Fox Soul TV show, The Tammi Mac Late Show. He shared his struggle with the existence of God.  "I've always been in a struggle with religion and God,” he said. “I think I'm this close, if I'm not already there, to being a black atheist."  Have you ever wrestled with questioning God? Church some social media followers of ANWA and Dr. Matthew Stevenson are digging up the recipets and giving him credit for a prediction he made in 20217/2018 that a black female would come up with a cure for cancer. Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green has become the first person to successfully cure cancer in mice using laser-activated nanoparticles, according to Black Culture News. Unlike traditional cancer treatments, Green’s revolutionary and unique nanoparticle technology, which was found to successfully cure cancer after testing on mice within 15 days, does not require chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery. Green received a $1.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to expand her nanoparticle cancer treatment research.

Church the Trump team is opening up offices in areas that have a large percentage of African American voters and are positioning themselves as showing the black community what they have to gain by supporting Trump for four more years....this would be laughable but it is not. I will NEVER vote for Trump. As a human, I don't like anything he stands for and can't get over his narcissism and lack of intellectual curiosity amongst other issues.

For many Christians, Ash Wednesday is a day of reconciliation that sparks renewed hope for transformation. Ash Wednesday, traditionally known as a day of repentance for sins through the public display of ashes, also marks the first day of the 40-day season of Lent leading up to Easter. Ash Wednesday often falls during the last week of February or early March, depending upon when Easter falls during the calendar year. Many Protestant and Catholic churches acknowledge Ash Wednesday with a service by spreading burnt ashes across the foreheads of anyone who participates. In some cases, these ashes come from the burning of blessed palms from the prior year’s Palm Sunday. For Christians, Palm Sunday “recalls the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem when his followers shouted ‘Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord the King of Israel’ and scattered palms in his path.” The people in Israel glorified Jesus for also resurrecting Lazarus from the dead (John 12:13-17).

Chruch she may be THE most popular Christian guru for black Christian female millennials online but lately, she and her husband have come under some serious fire from some of their online followers. Heather is well known for her brand story which is engaging in a courtship with her husband for 2 years without ever having sex or kissing. Church do you observe Lent? On February 26, we will officially enter into the season of Lent. Lent is the religious observance in the Christian liturgical calendar that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends about six weeks later, right around Easter Sunday. If you observe Lent, you normally give something up, increase your personal devotion or are more intentional in your 'giving'. I'm aiming for all of these. Church nearly half of mainline pastors say they back same-sex marriage, although support among evangelical pastors remains low, according to a new LifeWay Research survey. The poll of 1,000 pastors found that 47 percent of mainline pastors say they “see nothing wrong with two people of the same gender getting married.” That’s an increase from 2010 when 32 percent of mainline pastors answered that way. Among evangelical pastors, though, only 8 percent support same-sex marriage – the same percentage from 2010. When combining the two groups, 24 percent of Protestant pastors back same-sex marriage, according to the survey. “More than four years after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states, most Protestant pastors still see a moral problem with it,” said Scott McConnell, executive director of LifeWay Research.

Church the theater productions at The Holy Land Experience are going to end on April 18, 2020, and then it will be an educational museum. The Holy Land Experience last week filed notice with the city of Orlando and state officials announcing it would be eliminating 118 positions. That represents most of the jobs at the theme park in Orlando’s tourist corridor. Holy Land Experience officials said in a letter that they were shifting focus from entertainment and theatrical productions to the park’s Biblical museum. The decision will allow them to continue to receive tax breaks signed into law by former Governor Jeb Bush. The theme park was launched in 2001 as the ministry of a Messianic Jewish church. Trinity Broadcasting Network took ownership in 2007. IRS records show a sharp decline in revenue, from $42 million in 2010 to $8 million in 2017, the most recent year available. Church fivefold ministers are meant to cooperate in their special giftings and abilities and together govern, guide, gather, ground and guard God’s people. There is no way to entirely alleviate the pressure that pastors face on a daily basis. However, the strain is greatly compounded when the fivefold ministry gifts are not fully operating in churches today. It is not God’s intention for pastors to attempt to equip and build up the body alone. There are no scriptures that even suggest that one senior shepherd has been given everything necessary to perfect a particular congregation. More teaching settings like this one just might be what the church is in need of. On a side note, judging from the below flyer the woman's perspective is well represented.

Church it would be interesting to know the profit that has been made off of this alleged scam. A ministry by the name of His Name Is Flowing Oil was claiming to have a Bible that was producing oil. The claim was that oil was miraculously flowing out of the Bible into a container used to collect it, which was stated to be a manifestation of God’s presence and a manifestation of everything you think is impossible. As you can imagine, this caught the attention of many skeptics and religious people who adamantly defended the claims.  A little more than two years later, the ministry that developed under this alleged oil-producing Bible-based in Dalton, Georgia, has shut down following an investigation by the Chattanooga Times Free Press. The leaders of the ministry would travel to churches for special services where they would proclaim God’s miraculous power to heal the sick, grow arms and legs that had been amputated, and provide financial prosperity.

Yall the song Old Town Road wasn't exactly a great Christian song ever so I would definitely say Lil Nas X is in need of some prayer and hopefully the media will not let him sell his soul. These are some sad times for sure.   The song that got so popular by Lil Nas X "Old Town Road is now pushing this and then folks wonder why it was promoted and pushed through every big televised broadcast even though the 2019 super bowl. Some are saying that there's an agenda to push filth like this onto our kids and people need to realize that. Certain people are built up to become popular by kids so that once the kids are followers of that individual, then all of sudden its a turn for the worse and those who follow blindly will fall right into the trap that the enemy set. Have discernment to see these types of things coming because the devil is crafty at what he does but we have the authority in Jesus Christ to rebuke the enemies tactics to protect our children.

Church I gotta catch this one ‘cause only God knows the true depth of this monster, Black men and their disrespect of Black women.  In my opinion, Red Table Talk does not pattern itself after WHITE stream media nor BLACK talking heads.  I’m an older woman like Gammy and I often identify with her perspective in the discussions. Snoop has at times seemed to me to be very disrespectful to women in particular. I am sure that Jada in her low-key, sympathetic but truth-telling way, will ask him the hard questions and also allow him the space to tell his perspective.

Richard Smallwood was on Sister Circle early in the week and he opened up about his personal Mental Health Battle. He says he’s ministered to many people through his music and went home suffering even seeking info on ending his own life painlessly after losing his mother. His therapist reminded him that GOD didn’t use anyone that was not flawed. He was on medication but stopped on his own and became depressed. It’s when his friends and family stepped in and he started to do better. It took a lot for him to share his journey because there’s a stigma with mental health and folks labeling you “crazy “. He may have saved someone, what a testimony.

The Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee voted to disfellowship a Texas church for knowingly having a pastor who is a lifetime registered sex offender. The Southern Baptist Convention has expelled one of its churches for employing a pastor that is a registered sex offender, the New York Times reports. According to the NYT, church leaders voted on Tuesday to expel Ranchland Heights Baptist Church.  Ranchland Heights Baptist Church took on Phillip Rutledge as their pastor in 2016. The church explained to CBS7 that they knew his status before they hired him. "Our administration knew about Bro. Phillip's history before the hiring and the vast majority of the church knew about it as well. We believe that God can change people, and we believe that God has forgiven Bro. Church here we go, money talk and bs walk. The Rev. Calvin Butts III, the influential pastor of the historic Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, is drawing strong criticism from some members of his church for throwing his support behind billionaire Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, who is currently under fire for his controversial support of stop-and-frisk policies that targeted mainly black and Hispanic residents. Like several other churchgoers, Jackson suggested that Butt’s support for the billionaire candidate was based on political and financial opportunism. “He’s had his palms greased before,” said Jackson, referencing the pastor’s endorsement of Republican governor George Pataki in 1998 and Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama in 2008. Following Pataki's victory, Butts was appointed by a governor-controlled board as president of SUNY Old Westbury, where he took home a recent salary of $246,684, according to public records.

Church we don't need no more start-up churches, there a plenty of empty seats in these churches now that need filling. Rumors have it that allegedly Tasha Cobbs and her husband Kenneth will say goodbye to Relentless Church on March 1, 2020. Some are speculating that the two might start their own church. 

Church let us be honest here Planned Parenthood is not just about their abortion clinics. They offer countless resources for health and wellness for both men and women. Black people deserve access to unbiased and non-judgmental sexual and reproductive health care so they can thrive.

Church, Bishop Elijah Hankerson's upcoming Tuesday night bible study, will more than likely open up a can of worms. In every day and age, there have been certain cultural norms that are accepted and followed without much questioning. Some COGIC bishops don't agree with dressing like the Catholic church.  "Why do we align ourselves with the Vatican, when they don't embrace our doctrine, then why do we need to accept their attire?"

Church I'm not surprised at all with the results of this survey, stating that overall, 62 percent of Americans say they wouldn’t date someone who disagreed with their view of the idiot in the white house. Half or more of white evangelicals say it would be impossible or very difficult to date someone with another view on abortion, religious freedom, or gun rights—their top dating deal-breakers, according to a new survey from the American Enterprise Institute (AEI).

New Birth Senior Pastor, Dr. Jamal Bryant did an on-air interview with the KD Bowe show on Praise102.5 about seasons. Bryant said milk is healthy until it expires. Because you’ve been doing something doesn’t mean you should keep doing it. Your assignment shouldn’t be a sentence. In other words, as a pastor, it is ok to step down and pursue other things. Your time being up isn’t always a punishment it may be a promotion.  Always remain aware of when your season is up. Don't end up tearing down everything God built up through you, because you couldn't accept that your season was up. All too often...we witnessed pastors reduce the church to zero relevance in the Kingdom because they stayed too long and were not called to take it any further. Knowing when to leave there is as equally, if not more important, as knowing when to come there. Do yall agree with Dr. Bryant?

Church a lot of folks within the Christian community are having a difficult time with the news that former NBA Basketball Player Dwayne Wade made Monday in supporting his son Zion.  Dwyane Wade's son, Zion, is now changing his name to Zaya and will identify as a female. Dwyane Wade sat with  Ellen Degeneres on Monday to reveal the changes. Wade stated, "When Zaya, our 12-year-old, came home, first Zion, I don’t know if everyone knows, originally named Zion, born as a boy, came home and said ‘Hey, so I wanna talk to you guys. I think going forward I’m ready to live my truth. And I wanna be referenced as ‘she’ and ‘her.’ I would love for you guys to call me Zaya.’ So internally, it’s our job to one, go out and get information, to reach out to every relationship that we have. My wife reached out to everybody on the cast of  POSE. We’re just trying to figure out as much information we can to make sure that we give our child the best opportunity to be her best self.”  Dwyane Wade

A Dallas area Southern Baptist church has fired a music minister charged with sexually assaulting a child, and told Baptist Press the alleged crime occurred before the accused's employment there. Valley Ranch Baptist Church (VRBC) in Coppell, Texas, fired 40-year-old associate minister of worship after the Mesquite Police Department (MPD) arrested him Feb. 10, pastor Larry Parsley said Wednesday.

Church I saw this in my newsfeed, this is Hosanna Wong, the teaching pastor at EastLake Church in San Diego. She was invited to speak at the Southern Baptist Convention’s Pastors’ Conference in June, but a number of SBC pastors have written a joint letter of protest, demanding that Wong repent, calling on every SBC pastor to phone the SBC immediately, and threatening to withhold all Executive Committee funds until she is disinvited. William B. Bynum Jr., the president of Jackson State University in Mississippi, resigned effective immediately after his arrest over the weekend at a Clinton hotel on charges of procuring the services of a prostitute, giving a false statement of identity, and possession of marijuana.  Bynum was among more than a dozen people arrested in a sting. Also arrested in the police operation was Shonda McCarthy, director of the Jackson State University art galleries. Dr. William Bynum Jr.  Bynum was appointed president of Jackson State in May 2017. Prior to that, he served for four years as president of Mississippi Valley State University. "Bynum’s arrest came less than a week after the president of Texas Southern University was fired over an alleged college admissions scandal. The church was issued a noise abatement and given 15 days to turn down the volume build a wall or the City of Bixby will step in. A popular new church in Bixby is being told to tone down its worship services. Transformation Church's popularity has exploded in recent months. But are their services too loud? The church has a two-week deadline to quiet down before the city steps in and takes action. For those worshiping inside Transformation Church in Bixby, making joyful noise is what the scripture says.

Yall five years? Any church or co. (With that kind of money) should have annual auditing! Shame on her of course; she’s a criminal, shame on the church leaders for not doing their due diligence protecting the church's money! A woman who worked as the financial secretary of her church has been charged with embezzling more than half a million dollars from it to pay for thousands of online purchases, car loans, satellite television, cell phone bills, and even her own wedding. Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina in New Jersey and Florence Township Police Department Officer in Charge Jonathan Greenberg announced that Taisha D. Smith DeJoseph, 43, of Willingboro, New Jersey, was charged with embezzling a total of $561,777 from St. Paul's Baptist Church where she volunteered as the financial director.

Church this is the latest example of Republicans handing out money to right-wing Christian organizations instead of more deserving groups. This is taxpayer money being used to pressure people to adopt Christianity if they want to escape human trafficking. This does seem questionable. A whistleblower complaint has been filed with the Department of Justice's Inspector General, questioning $530,000 in anti-human trafficking grant funds awarded to Christian ministry Hookers for Jesus, according to a new report .

Church it looks like Dr. Irishea Hillard has offered new ministry positions to Pastor John & Kenya Moore. If yall recalled back in July of last year the Moores were accused by Dr. Juanita Bymun of some wrongdoing (at least the husband was). New Light Church and Love City USA have welcome Pastor John and Kenya Moore as the new Love City USA Director and Coordinator. I don't know if the pastor and wife team has given up on pastoring their own church or not. Update : It looks like the Moores are abandoning their Virginia church family.

Church I'm not sure if yall are familiar with Darius Williams (Darius Cooks) or not, I followed him for years on social media a self-made man he just had his LEGITIMATE restaurant businesses shut down in the state of Georgia for running an ILLEGAL credit repair company. Mental Illness is real. I received this shocking post and felt led to share asking yall to keep Chef Darius Cooks Williams in your prayers. He was just diagnosed with “depression”. This story is so sad and just happening too often! His restaurant dreams were just coming to pass and he got caught up in a credit repair scam.   Not sure of the rules state to state but it's reading like these businesses are not as above ground as these agents pooping up like to make it seem.
