Saying Farewell To The Great Lee Williams!

Y 'all I'm a big ole fan of the Gospel quartet group Lee Williams and The Spiritual QC's out of Tupelo, Mississippi. I was born and raised in a small rural town in Alabama where Gospel Singing on a Sunday afternoon was big business. Lee Williams style for singing gospel music was flatfooted, not moving, not even cracking a smile. Nevertheless, Lee would deliver a song with such power that congregants spill into the church aisles, lifting their arms in praise to the Almighty and dancing in the spirit.

It's being reported that Lee Williams is being forced into early retirement because of health reason. Because of those health reasons, Lee is being honored as one of the Living Legends of Gospel Music. Lee and his group are on a farewell tour across the country, where he is being joined by other national recording artists who have labored along with him in the gospel for years.

Anyhow, in the heartbreaking clip below it break my heart to see Lee being led and helped to the stage by band members. Lee Williams and QCs thank for the many years of service. God bless you all in this season of your lives.

  1. I know. When my brother went to go see them in Alabama..it was like, "What are ya'll doing?" I understand the heart is there to keep singing, but Lord have mercy... Anyway, God bless him. There won't be other voice to replace him, Just like it was and still is with the Mighty Clouds of Joy.

    1. Time zone it's a sad sight to see.....I'm thinking maybe they are trying to honor their contractual agreement.

    2. They should have made enough money where they should not have to be tied by a contract. If things are done the godly way, mercy in these situations would have been shown. SAD!

  2. So sad to see. WhenWwill dignity and respect replace greed?

  3. The spirit can still be full of praise and joy even though the body may be failing. He still has words to share that can be uplifting to others. That's still his chosen mission.

    1. Amen, it maybe that he still has the heart to sing, no necessarily greed. That is his passion and maybe what keeps him going...

  4. Why is it that we always find the negative in everybody but ourselves. Lee Williams is a great singer for the Lord and that's why he was able to stand in one place and not move with such power in his voice. It's not greed that keeps him going. He said it best in his song "I can't give up now." see I remember when people had to hold me up and help me. It's not sad. Don't pity Lee Williams. Pity yourselves and pray to God that you make it as far as Lee has. Check your oneself before you put something negative out there about this wonderful man. God bless you and have a great week

  5. God is good. Always try to speak positive things into the atmosphere. Just remember life and death is in the tongue. Also remember you reap what you sow. This man is still giving God praises in his time of illness and some people aren't ill and don't give God the praise. Praises go up blessing comes down.

    1. Instead of telling folks to check themselves, why don't you take your own advice and speak "positively" about those folks who speaks "negatively" against Lee Williams.

  6. The message Lee Williams gave in song can never be erased. Thank you God for the gift of Your song in the body of Lee Williams. I saw Jesus in his eyes each time a song was delivered. I have learned to recognize THE HOLY SPIRIT and I`m thankful...Don`t worry about Lee, he`s alright because he did what he was assigned to do.
