The Day I Learned White Christians Hate Me!
Reader let's not pretend white supremacy and conservative, fundamentalist (and even evangelical) Christianity don't go hand in hand. The fact we have to ASK White Evangelical churches to condemn White Supremacy is one reason I can no longer embrace any of their teaching. Christianity was never meant to be a religion of the powerful. THIS IS WHAT IS HURTING OUR WITNESS. Being able to argue an intellectual viewpoint will not equip us to fix the church's endemic racism. These are not wounds healed by "logic". They are healed by repentance and change. I am glad someone wrote this. It needs to be said. Below is a prophetic word from a Black woman to her dear white evangelical Christians.
"I am a black woman in America: your white Christian hatred is as plain as the day you donned white hoods. I tell you the truth, Whatever you did to the least of these you did to me.
Can I let you in on a little secret? However you feel about Michael Brown, alleged thief, alleged thug, alleged “Black Life Doesn’t Matter”, that’s how you feel about Jesus.
You see, Dear White Christian, your love for the Lord is permanently capped at the amount of love you have for the people in society who you like the very least."
