What Does It Mean To Be Healed For Real??

Reader, this post is about healing and what happens when God doesn't heal? Why doesn't God heal everyone? Why does God only heal certain people and not everyone who sincerely prays for healing? These are great questions and the life context of the questions is all too familiar. What if God doesn't heal me?  The issue arises in our darkest hours—in the hospital ward, in the doctor's office, when the unfavorable test results return. Can I be operating in a lack of faith when I ask questions?

Anyway, I came across the above flyer on the WWW and the following question below the break from Apostle David A Roger Facebook page it got me to thinking.

"If a Minister preaches or teaches on HEALING, DELIVERANCE or MIRACLES, but has NO verifiable, documented PROOF or HUMAN WITNESS that they have ever been used by GOD to demonstrate any of that, should they continue to preach or teach on those subjects?"

  1. Miss Ann,

I think that we have to put into context who Jesus is before we jump into why there is no documented evidence of anyone having been healed for real. (Disclaimer: I didn’t read the Facebook post).

“And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” (Luke 4:17-21)

“Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” (Matthew 11:2-5)

One of the things that proved Jesus as the Son of the Living God was he healed the sick. He also was able to give his disciples the same power to go on and heal (Luke 10:1-9, Acts 5:15). However, in what is termed as the great commission, Jesus emphasized teaching of the WORD of God and keeping/observing his commandments (Matthew 28:18-20). And this follows from the Old Testament the importance of being obedient to the precepts of God.

Unfortunately this is not a subject that most preachers want to talk about. They generally talk about holiness and righteous living. Rarely do they break it down the essence of being obedient to every single commandment of the Most High.

If we read the WORD of God in its entirety, there is no need to question God on why he doesn’t heal. Our whole duty from beginning to end, Genesis to Revelation is to fear God and keep his commandments.

Unfortunately, the "preachers" on the flyer can only hear the sound of kaching$$$! Ready to take on the weak and their money.

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want…
