Question Of The Day? Would You—or Should You—Ever Attend a Gay Wedding?

Reader I would love to hear what you have to say about this topic. Would you attend a gay wedding of a daughter, son, neighbor, cousin or a co-worker, does that makes you one, who embraces sin?  And if you wouldn’t attend, does that make you an ultra-conservative hate-mongering bigoted?

Today, the above picture was trending all up and down my timeline. Some say there are two kinds of Christians in the world today—those who would and those who wouldn’t attend a gay wedding. So who’s right and who's wrong? When Christians respond to this question, “Would you attend a gay friend’s wedding?” you typically hear two answers:

1. “Absolutely! Jesus said to love one another, not judge one another.”
2. “No! I stand by the Bible. I cannot endorse something I believe is sin.”
Reader, is there really a correct answer to this question?

Comments

  1. I recently had this debate with some friends about a former co-worker who is gay and she invited me to her wedding. I initially said, No but I was reminded that I went to another co-workers wedding who was habitually cheating and they said it's no different, so I guess I'm going to go. Attending a gay wedding isn't an endorsement of the lifestyle, I'm going because these are two cool people that I like but just disagree with their lifestyle.

    1. Shame on YOU "Lifestyle" Anonymous, and anyone who would involve themselves with this EVIL.

@KUDOS from the prior post - this issue is a good example, you posed the question about those on the Potter's wheel. From some of the responses I read here, I wonder if many here are even on the wheel.

The Bible (the WORD of God, lest anyone forgets) states "And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." Genesis 2:21-25

Scripture clearly defines WEDDING/MARRIAGE as occurring between "one man and one woman", not between two men, two men, one man-multiple women, etc. So what these Sodomites are doing FIRST OF ALL is NOT A WEDDING. IT"S NOT A MARRIAGE. Call it a MARRIAGE all they want...but that's a LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL.

And for anyone who participates/ attends these such events, are simply under the power of a DELUSION and A LIE. They are all deceived and are making a MOCKERY of God's SACRED INSTITUTION. BE CAREFUL TO NOTE in Gal 6:7-8. - "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting".

The real issue is not the LIE Satan in his cunning way, would propose for many to bite the fruit, so to steer all away from the truth the word of God, to form your OPINIONS, all based on HIS LIES (you love if you GO, YOU'RE A BIGOT if you don't). BUT RATHER the TRUTH that all who participate/attend are sowing to the FLESH, and thus WILL REAP CORRUPTION! Corruption that could be by (1) By disease. (2) in the grave or (3) in the world of woe.

The BIBLE gives us the alternative we all should admonish.... to sow to the SPIRIT because he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. NONE of us is without EXCUSE. "Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things." Romans 2:1

This stuff ain't no GAME YA'LL. It's about GOD and his HOLY Way of Living. O it's about a lifestyle alright.. A LIFE that is STYLED as HE COMMANDED WE SHOULD live, because of HIS LOVE for US.

Keep spitting in HIS face, and WATCH your own life BECOME CORRUPTED, and if you are not careful to be obedient, YOUR SOUL TO END UP IN FLAMES.

    5. WILLIAM THOMAS!!, let me say this before I leave to church this morning here on the eastside of the U.S. before playing keys for the Lord "only" at my church. There's a difference between repenting of one's sins daily and practicing it. Homosexuality is practicing sins daily and NIGHTLY.. nasty. So with your comment to justify yourself in being down with attending such a non-ordained, demonic ceremony which God himself has ZERO to do with, think about how this world and yourself has become desensitized and soften to this activity that has destroyed Sodom, Babylon... I could go on and on. And here we are in the midst of it. Last days brother. Pray and realize God's original creation and do not fall for this scam. Yes, love one another but do not be partakers in this activity which has been approved by this satanic govt. Eph 5:7

    7. Betty Sue Woods:Sunday, 12 March, 2017

Yall are some self hating people.I'm attending such a wedding in the upcoming months. We are all sinners. You are in the company of sin and sinners, all day, everyday. Love the sinner, hate the sin. I am going because I love this family member, sin and all. I have to ask the question though, If you can't attend this type of event because of sin, where do you think you are going and what are you supporting everyday that is no different than this? Sin is everywhere, you can not escape it. All you can do is pray for strength to fight against it and ask for forgiveness. If christians never step foot into places like this, how will we ever share his shining light? Jesus spent time with sinners. Love one another, it is that simple.

    8. Thanks Anonymous “Get outta Here.” I’ll admit, I took a short break from commenting, yes I kept up with the postings and I was just smh at the comments and also the one’s that were deleting, smh again. When a subject matter or an iconic figure is criticized and that thing or person is upheld as the standard for all humanity, the conversation becomes “emotional.” And that’s the era of where we are now and most importantly deception and Christians falling for satan’s scams. I perfect example is this gay thing that is like EVERYWHERE now. For example. Hi Betty Sue Woods. Hope you’re doing well. Now, I’m not hollering or screaming just hear where I’m coming from and I know you’ll probably continue to believe what you believe but please I tell you to not allow the LGBTQ to sway you’re emotions on this topic. That was the goal of the last administration and it worked like a champ. (That’s all I’m gone say Ms. Ann) Betty I hope this was a typo when you said, “I am going because I love this family member, SIN AND ALL.” Uh.. think about what you just typed. Yes we love but, (clear my throat) sin too? On your next statement you have been soften by this sin itself. You’re excuse is, “Sin is everywhere, you can’t escape it.” Please I’m not trying to be smart but, no duh. Also you said that “if Christians never step into these places like this, how will we ever share his shining light?” Betty Betty Betty…. My sister. Love you with the love of the Lord. First thing, darkness & light cannot mix. Yes, be a light. But when you engage in activity that the sole purpose of the event is to destroy humanity, you can walk in there with all the light in the world, them folks ain’t gone here a word you saying. When Daniel was in Babylon. Sin was ALL OVER THE PLACE. That place was a mess. (By the way, we’re in a typology of Babylon now). Even though the Hebrew name of Daniel means “GOD IS MY JUDGE”, that brother did not engage in their activity and he didn’t use that as an excuse like many are using today as, “Don’t judge, God is my judge and don’t saying nothing, just pray!” smh. It takes more than prayer, one must take a stand and not side with what the enemy wants to use against God himself. I know I know.. you were probably or possible stuck between a rock & and hard place when it came to your family member but you have been duped by society when the magic word “hate” is used. See, the problem is, the homosexual community doesn’t want to hear that this is not God’s order. When you say that, they translate in their minds as “hate” and that is completely not the case, but again they don’t wanna hear it because their minds have been seared with a hot iron; 1 Tim 4:2 having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Hey I’ve had to travel with people who were flammin’ gay, I’m sorry. I just gotta say it, but this was for business purposes. I did my work on the computer hardware and he did his work on the software end. And that’s a far as it went. He knew what I was about, God’s order and it being reconfigured by society and satan. Mum was the word on that. However we must love yes, but to side with it you be going to this man-created union in celebration of what God has not intended at all. I’m sorry.

    9. YUP Timezone...I was going to reply to Sue Woods and was about to post the EXACT SAME THING you said "SIN AND ALL". Betty needs to first of all come up off that black jargon, that "self hate" quip. The Bible strictly teaches there is nothing good in the flesh (self), we should crucify the flesh and die to it daily. I really don't have a clue where she comes from her little quips and quacks. And for her to use the "sin is everywhere" card is just RIDICULOUS. She will NEVER find anywhere in the BIBLE to extract any principles to justify her attending this whatever you would call it, cause it's sure not a wedding. Anyways brother, glad you commented. I enjoy reading your comments.

And if you're on the opposite side of the spectrum, you "hate." That's the magic word that's used and people who claim the faith are not ready to endure. The church failed the test with absolute flying colors a few years ago. I'm not gonna get into that cause I don't want to get deleted, but you know what I'm talking about. 6. I think it would be hypocritical of anyone to attend the wedding of someone who you don't wish well. For me, it would depend on my relationship with the person. If its someone who I love and respect and truly want to see happy, then yes, I would attend. But I realize that it's a personal choice and people really can't advise you how to feel.

  7. I DON'T CARE IF IT WAS MY MAMA, DADDY , SISTER, BROTHER, SON, OR DAUGHTER I WOULDN'T ATTEND NO LESBIAN OR HOMOSEXUALITY WEDDING. I AM A SAVED SANTIFIED WOMAN. AND IT'S HOLINESS OR HELL.GOD MADE ADAM AND EVE NOT ADAM AND STEVE AND NOT EVE AND YVETTE. THE BIBLE STATES THAT WE ARE TO SHUN THE VERY APPEARANCE OF EVIL. AND NO I DON'T GO TO WEDDING WHERE FOLKS MARRY THAT HAVE BEEN SHACKING. OR BABY SHOWERS OF OUR OF WEDLOCK MOTHER'S. SIN IS SIN. THERE'S NO BIG SIN OR LITTLE SIN. THESE PREACHER'S THAT MARRY THESE FOLKS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GIVE ACCOUNT TO GOD FOR THERE SIN AGAINST GOD FOR MARRING THESE FOLKS. CAUSE THEY KNOW BETTER. AND THE FOLKS THAT ARE MARRING ALSO KNOW BETTER. JUST BECAUSE IT'S POLITICALLY CORRECT. DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT IS BIBLICAL CORRECT. THE BIBLE IS RIGHT EVERYTHING ELSE IS WRONG. YES, I love them, but waaaay deep down they know it's not of the Lord period. So you wanna see a lesbian or homosexual couple happy? Tell them about the Word, they get angry, then you know you should not go, period. And yes, this goes for fornication, adultery, etc....Again, this is part of the "Mark." It's not just a number 666 which most believe, but the Mark of the Beast is a spiritual connection with satan himself to deny God's truth. I so promise you. This is not a fantasy what I'm saying.

  8. Miss Ann,

We as believers in Christ need to know the terms and conditions that apply. We need to forsake all (Luke 14:26-27) and deny ourselves DAILY (Luke 9:23). Our LORD and Savior says that those who obey his commandments are his family (Luke 8:21).

We also have to be cognizant of the days that we are living in (Ephesians 5:15-16, 2 Timothy 3:1-5). Many times Christians want to live in prophetic moments. Well, here it is. As it was in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39), as it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah (Luke 17:28-30) so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man. The choices that we make have to be informed from the perspective of the scriptures. So many times the “judge not phrase” is thrown about. However, we shall judge with angels (1 Corinthians 6:2-3) and it is in our best interest to align ourselves to the precepts of God at ALL times.

So, no I wouldn’t attend the gay wedding (regardless of who it is, i.e. family, friend, or co-worker). It is my conscious decision to be obedient to the WORD of God. An understanding that we have to be separate to be received of the LORD (2 Corinthians 6:17). And that is the cost (Luke 14:28-32).

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want…

  9. Ms. Ann, I wouldn't be able to attend a wedding of two homosexuals. I feel that is showing support of something against God...also, God does not consider it a marriage to begin with..what I will do is pray for both individuals and never cease to show them love and kindness while at the same time not enabling or condoning their lifestyle. I've never been in this position but I imagine that's what I'd do.

  11. What many people fail to understand is that marriage belongs to God. It's our lack of knowledge and true understanding that gets us in trouble. It amazes me how so many people want to take God out of marriage. Marriage is a direct reflection of Christ's love for the bridegroom the church. The husband represents Jesus, the bridegroom is the wife. When attending a wedding, we are confirming the covenant between a husband and wife and their covenant with Jesus. The world has blinded so many people and people fail to read the Bible and ask the Holy Spirit for understanding. When people look at marriage, it is a witness for Jesus and His sacrificial love for us. In no way does a same sex marriage reflect this. Christians cannot be dominated by the flesh. The Lord corrects those whom He loves but we must be open for correction. Many may not like what the Bible says but in the last days many will turn away from Him. There is spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6) and the enemy tries to not only copy but distort God's original plan. We must open our eyes and understand that it's not ppl pushing the gay agenda but rulers and principalities in high places. Yes, they will use people to get their agenda across. It will get worst. Just read Revelations. However, we know who wins in the end.

I ask you dearly to seek God and ask Him to reveal the truth to you. Have a heart for Jesus to hear from Him. You know as a child we may have not liked everything our parents told us even if it was good for us but now as an adult we can see the truth. It's the same as we grow in Christ.

    ReplyDelete
  12. And to everyone who is cool with attending a homosexual wedding, how far are you willing to go. When they kiss each other on the mouth, will you applaud? Will you goto the reception and when they dance, how will you respond? With a smile on your face? See ya’ll, Just with what I said, you are approving and saying you want this two people to be happy. That’s the excuse? To be happy in what destroyed so many ancient kingdoms of old and this country is next? Really? Ya’ll better wake up. Yes there’s free will, but when you come into the knowledge of the truth, that’s when you have to stand even more with who God is. But unfortunately many will fail the test. The main thing is that many church folks are not ready for the persecution. You want to flow along to get along and not feel uncomfortable. That’s why Jesus himself said the following, which in my opinion is one of the most terrifying statements in the Bible: Matt 7:14 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. God Bless.
