Lyrically they could have done better for example -

      Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Whether you're rich or whether you're poor
      It matters not to Him
      He remembers where you're going
      Not where you've been

      Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

      If your heart is troubled
      Don't worry, don't you fret
He knows that you have heard His call
      And he won't forget

      Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

      All around the world tonight
      His children rest assured
That He will watch and He will keep us
      Safe and secure

      Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white

  10. Real worship is not eye squinting, bubbly lips, teeth chatter, shaky cheeks, and not necessarily weakened knees dropped to the floor (cause in Exodus 33:10 "And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door") - doesn't matter the posture.

But Rather them who worship must worship in spirit and in truth.

  11. Miss Ann,

I concur with the first anonymous, his dressing might be feminine, but it could also point to promotion of androgyny (gender ambiguity). He does his runs well. All those oohs and aaahs are pitch perfect. He reminds me of B Slade formerly Tonéx. This could be a trend or maybe he is reading from the same script.

His song doesn’t make much sense. He talks about a billion people. John the beloved saw multitudes, nations and tongues (Revelation 17:15). And it is not enough that these number of people he is singing about, just say the name Jesus, we know the devils also believe and tremble (James 2:19). We have to go back to obedience to God’s commandments. Abraham obeyed God and he was justified (James 2:21).

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want…

Thank you for sharing, I think if the "haters" on this page would get their eyes off the man (his attire, his lips, his balloons) and "enter in", perhaps they could find something good about the song, I think it's a good worship song. 4. Part 1: Stop stop.. enough! Look, again, I say what I say in love. Just trying to help some eyes be opened. Ya’ll listen, especially ya’ll that think that all because gospel singers mention the name of Jesus, run around the church or arena 100mph screaming at the top of their lungs, the smoke the lights; you think it’s Gawd. Smh. Now before you all say the j-word, Judging, listen. A lot a people can’t stand him but when Min G. Craige Lewis (Truth Behind Hip Hop) said that the same feeling and emotional high you get at a Beyonce concert (in which we should not attend), is that same feeling you can get at a Detrick Haddon or Kirk Franklin concert. Goosebumps, a feeling of elation because the keyboardist hits a certain chord, your eyes are fixed on your favorite artist so you get “star-struck” or the ambiance of the lights and environment just got you on a high. Yes, one doesn’t want to goto a gospel concert and it’s all boring but the difference is that the Holy Ghost has to be there for it to be the real deal. Here’s the scripture to go by and don’t skip this. 2 Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. The key word there is “FORM”. You’ll be looking at these performers, which is what they are nowadays, and you’ll think, “Oh Lord, the spirit is just flowing!” When they need to be ministering in truth and living the life of Christ they are to live. With that said, to Anonymous, I humbly say to you, when you said that we need to get our eyes off the man and we may get something out of the song. We have this saying about the Pastor that we may follow at our perspective churches, “We must follow the man of God, AS HE FOLLOWS CHRIST.” So if my pastor is a reality T.V. show actor/performer and all kinda foolishness is presented before the WORLD, I gotta bounce. 1 Cor 11:1 KJV Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. New American Standard says Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ. Through the years I’ve been in the music industry, playing keys and keeping my eyes open on what’s really going on I’ve learn that you can’t follow any type of gospel artist that flies in by night. Hey, I’ll be the first to admit, these guys are good but we have to use discernment and in this day and time it’s imperative. That’s why we MUST have the Holy Ghost.

    5. Part 2: And I’ll say it, a lot of times if you just know basic Bible, it doesn’t take a science project to figure out the difference between faking in church and truth. After D Haddon’s second album, I was invited to this pre-stellar awards program mess (before I woke up) and I was a table right behind D Haddon. He saw us, and in just casual talk, ya know, he was like “what’s up brothers.” Shook our hands and kept it moving. A guest artist was there and they hit the stage and while they were performing it was like party time. I look back on it now and I realize it was just a big-ol joke. D Haddon doing worldly moves and dances at his table along with everybody else cuttin’ up. Ridiculous. You all have to realize and I say this without hesitating. Just like the world believes that if Kanye West, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj all live their lives and be successful, the day they die without uttering Romans 10:9, they’ll be in glory. These gospel artist pretty much believe the same thing. If they sing songs of Zion, say Jesus 1million times in life, write songs about the Lord, they’ll automatically goto Heaven. They honestly believe that just like this stupid world believes there’s a ghetto in Heaven for rappers for like Tupac. Smh. They believe they don’t have to crack open a Bible one time, smh. Drummer friend of mine and also a wonderful minister said he was back stage and while this well-known gospel group finished their sound check, one of the members walked backstage after finishing and said, “Now that we finished, where the hoes at.” Yep. Looking for sistas to hook up with ya’ll. This is the foolishness that’s going on folks. Now to the folks that say, we hatin’. We ain’t hatin’ we just tired of the lie that satan lies before everyone. Everything that shines and glimmers isn’t the truth folks, I’m sorry. These people put on a awesome performances. But that’s what it is, a performance of entertainment. Look I’ve seen it 2 trillion times. They group gets finished, them brothers go backstage, they be like: “Y’all we tow it up tonight! Yo beats was slamming Marco! Deshundra, girl you hit that high note outta no where my sista!!” And even on some occasions some cussin’. Now to Anonymous that said, Get outta Here and Lord is my Shepard must be miserable people. I had to read your statement like 4 times. From what I read throughout this entire posting, it seems to me that those statements truly initiating this whole argument I read through. Look, you basically said they are miserable people. Hmmm. In your eyes they may be, but what you don’t like is the truth of what they speak. I know folks can’t stand to see when I type what I believe to be true, but I just got to express what I know is real just like Get Outta Here and the Lord is my Shepherd does. I’ll admit that the majority of what they say isn’t all flowering, nice and cute, but it in my eyes I can see by the spirit that it’s real and it’s just the plain truth. And folks don’t want to goto churches that tell the truth and preach about sin. Finally, we have to be able to recognize the difference between worship and entertainment. This thing is deeper than what I could even type up people.

    6. @ Timezone,

Thank you sooo much. Your experience of working with these gospel artists/music pastors and seeing them for who they are behind the scenes is what we need here.

I have a friend who played the guitar at the church we used to attend. Once I was visiting with him and there was a live concert of BB King in New Orleans on TV; way back when. Now BB King would curse, so I asked him to mute it coz I couldn't stand it. And he told me, "if you knew that our pastor cursed just as much, I bet you wouldn't stand his sermons on Sunday mornings" (or something to that effect). I have never looked at that pastor the same way. Every time he preached I could only think of what he says away from the pulpit. No wonder he hardly preached holiness and keeping God's commandments. I no longer attend that church. PS - my friend was the first to bounce!

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

    7. Amen Timezone. I personally made the choice not to hype anything about me here on this BLOG. I may mention bits and pieces about myself or my "life, most times as illustrations, to apply to Scriptures I may have referenced. I do not possess the FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, PERISCOPE spirit, where I choose to use this forum to list my personal life or any "credentials" I may have. And trust me I have many credentials. So any here who try to get personal with me to say my life is miserable is SIMPLY A JOKE.

And you are right, these kinds of statements really contribute ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to the posts other than to reveal the hearts and souls of these individual. Funny thing is, they in their very own hypocrisy, charge others like you and Shepherd, don't even see monkey wrench they throw.

And I really took a strong look at Anonymous suggestion to "enter in". WOW!!! Does this dude not know he may be opening himself up to demons?

Anyways, as far as any of this may pertain to worship, The LORD quoted to say we should worship in Spirit (NOT FLESH - lots of that displayed in this song we SHOULD take note) and Truth. And even if I am to meditate on this song by DeiTRICK, I couldn't really focus on a message that would appeal to my Spirit as truth. I mean...what will I allow my mind to think personally about DeiTRICK saying he is not going to stop until a billion heard or bow down. Like Shepherd said, the song SIMPLY does not make sense. If it is to be a spiritual song, the SON would be glorified, because the Spirit glorifies the Son in so many ways He touches the believers with this truth.

YOUR comments were SPOT ON about DeiTRICK. Thanks for sharing your real life experience. It's always so captivating to hear from someone who has actually seen these things first hand.

    10. Timezone, your comments have a theme in that they always focus on the past when you worked in the gospel music industry. You have a habit of calling people out by name and it seems you refuse to let go of whatever things these people did in the past.

I wonder, with all that you witnessed and all that you remember have you ever paused to pray for any of the individuals whose sins you remember? If not, why not? If so, why do you keep bringing up their faults and rehearsing them.

It seems that rather than being concerned about their souls, you are concerned about rehearsing your view of them/their faults.

What if these people are dealing with strongholds or generational curses? If they are God's HE is working on them at this moment, as HE is working on you.

If you are no longer industry, can you not let the past go? Like what do you hope to gain by calling them out in this fashion? God is aware. HE sees and if they are his HE will get them where they need to be.

Why is it easier for you to hold on to the past and their sins rather than forgetting those things that are behind you and pressing toward the mark of the high call that is in Christ Jesus?

Let me close by clarifying, that I don't want to turn a blind eye to anything. Sin and sinners are all around. Like every other Christian walking around the Earth the Lord is performing His work on me. My goal is to always remember that God is the author and finisher of mine and my Christian brethren's faith and I am not.

      Delete
    11. Part 1Hello Anonymous and thank you for your reply, however we just have to agree to disagree. It’s not a theme I’m going by, it’s the reality of what is happening and continues to happen and when the number of individuals that call out the sin that continues to occur; whether it be in the gospel music industry or within the church itself, excuses are given by the majority of the masses with scriptures and those people are slammed on accusations of judging which is not the case. First, I totally believe in forgiveness & believing in individuals deliverance. Ofcourse that is the sole reason why we exist to this very day, because of the blood of Jesus. Absolutely I pray for them and everyone else. That goes without saying. No I am not perfect and I make mistakes. However when I make mistakes, I remember to what my earthly father tells me, “do not repeat the same mistake the very next day.” If so, my reaction is to immediately repent. Now when you say what my focus seems to be, is to call those individuals out, well the scripture that comes up in my mind is from the greatest preacher of all time (not today’s preachers), Paul, in which he called individuals names out 24/7. Romans 6:1-2 1. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? In other words, do we continue to use the name of God as a convenience to sin? Do I pray for those and witness to those that I continue to this very day to encounter with, yes.

    12. Part 2 It was just last year Anonymous that a BISHOP needed help with music. Well, he wanted me to incorporate secular music themes into his so-called worship. ie: Drake's "hot-line bling" Yea. I said nope brother I don't do that. He said, what you mean! Sigh.. I had to go into my spill to a BISHOP Anonymous as to what I believe in the separation of what I believe in what's profane and Holy. He said he understood but he personally believed that you gotta pull the young people in some kinda way. In what became a lengthy conversation, he eventually agreed. To make a long story short, this guy during service used profane jokes and uncalled for speech within his sermon. This was in East Point, GA. True example. Now Anonymous you skip this if you don’t want to read my actual account because you seem to not like my TRUE examples Anonymous. Again, on occasion I give my TRUE stories to wake folks up and to quit the foolishness of what’s going on in church. He says, “God is 100% against homosexuality I don’t care what nobody says!” Now I’m with him at this point. Then he goes on and says, “Yea, God wants that husband to be with that wife. I can see God looking down during that husband and wifes’ session at night if ya’ll know what I mean haha saying yea boy you doing that thang just right.” FOOOOLISHNESS! It goes without saying this was my last day at this so-called ministry. What do I do? Act like this doesn’t exist or even occurred? Be soft about this and say something stupid like I’m not gone judge? NO! God ain’t playing Anonymous and he’s looking for a people that will call it out and take a stand!!! If we don’t all is lost. I’m sorry.

    13. Part 3 Play time is over. No, none of us are perfect but we gotta hold each other accountable. Here is the backbone of what causes my frustration and I believe with the Lord also, is the continuous approval by the church in keeping SILENT. Well, I take that back, they won’t stay silent they tell people like me to stop judging and shut my mouth and just pray. Well I say to that is yes we must pray but we must again hold each other accountable and judge righteously. Like the homosexual marriage thing on whether or not to attend, smh. John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. Now the first thing someone will say is, “You see the first part of that scripture timezone!” Yea, I see it, but it doesn’t mean what you want it to mean. Some will actually interpret this to mean if you see 2 men kissing, don’t’ say nothing but look at their hearts only. Smh. Yep, we are that far down the rabbit hole. You can’t say that and skip over the scripture that says, 1Thess 5:22 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. We have to make our minds up. So with all that said, if I’m led Anonymous I will continue to use actual events in my comments and if you see my name timezone come across, you can skip over my comments. I totally believe in giving individuals a chance and praying for them 24/7. Like Christ said to Peter when he ask how many times do I forgive my brother, Jesus replied seventy times seven. Ofcourse that doesn’t mean when you hit 71 you’re done with that person cause I’m not done with Kirk Franklin, he’s just totally off the richter scale, Jesus said what he said because he knows we as mortal humans are not counting or should count. Look, if I make mention of individuals, this is not to put these people down but to recognize the error of man and where we’re headed and if there’s no correction by anyone, all is lost as a church.

      Delete
  14. Timezone, I will admit that all of us as humans have things that rub us the wrong way. I also believe in Bible based correction and speaking the truth in love. Sometimes things have to be addressed. When things are addressed in a way that is biblically sound the process is effective and fruitful.

I, however, don't believe by calling out individuals in this forum/format is true correction because the odds are the people you have aught against won't even read your accusations. So who are you aiming to correct? If they never even read your accusations, isn't it just a situation where you are gossiping and sharing bad news?

For example, is commenting here from time to time changing anything? If the aim is really to address issues in the church wouldn't you be doing things to address your concerns in a wiser way that may yield actual fruit and also help those who are struggling in the industry as you have suggested?

Maybe you should pray for wisdom about how God can use your experiences more effectively for soul winning. We all go through things and God uses what we've gone through oftentimes to help those in similar situations. I'm just not convinced your words here will change any of what you say is wrong in that industry and you're just so full of accusations. If I were in the industry and struggling, I wouldn't feel led to listen to you because you don't offer any compassion, this is just my opinion.

In your last comment, you said that you're not done with Kirk Franklin. I hope that means that you are praying for him as you would hopefully pray for all Christian brethren around the world.

I also hope that you will also recall that as Jesus was hanging on the cross between two criminals one actually made it to paradise. We may give up on people because of all their faults, but that doesn't mean Jesus has given up on them.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe me saying that I'm done with Kirk was somewhat strong. I am not done with him in terms of him turning it around because yes I'm done with his ways of believing that you can mix and merge with others who do not even believe in Jesus period. Here's the backbone of my point. Living in the last days as we are and me making my points the way I freely believe, the Joel Osteen/TD Jakes emotional approach in my opinion will not work in today's times. If you think that calling out individuals or giving examples is out of order, I believe that in itself is delusional. Here it is. If no one spoke out and said that Carlton Pearson is way off by saying that Jesus will redeem satan one day and no one is going to hell, then I believe it's our responsibility to not play chicken, stick our heads in the sand like an ostrich but call out that is not of God. I don't care what their title is. Jesus himself called them out. The Pharisees and all. Even called them names, lol. I know I know, we ain’t Jesus, but I believe we should strive to be more and more like him. Paul, he called folks out. I know this should be a practice amongst us but there is a time where it has to be done. I came from a church that you keep yo mouth shut and don’t say nothing. The Eddie Long saga was the perfect situation where this all went down. It’s like this, if there’s an individual out there that sees the behavior of a Kirk Franklin, D Haddon being in this reality TV show mess, if no one says anything and gives it a pass, that young person or whoever will believe it’s perfectly all right. I’ve been talking in love to a person now who has left the church to fulfill in their eyes this dream of fame and being and R&B artist. I know this person. Do I pet them an say It’s all good no, I bring the truth and if I give examples of people that grew up in the church and went the secular route and all hit the fan, I will. By the way, I do this in love and I don’t scream and yell. In this social media form it’s hard to tell but when one meets me, they’re like wow, ok. Listen, we are in some dark days and unfortunately they are going to get darker and ministers are sugar coating their messages with flowery words to where hell is not even talked about. Do we mention hell again in church I ask you? I’m just saying. That’s where we headed. Just like with the very question on this site, “Would you attend a homosexual marriage?” Really? And this is a church based site. Yes Anonymous I pray for those but again, I’m not going to ignore the obvious of what is right in front of my face as to what the total opposite of what is right and wrong amongst the family of the brethren.

    2. Timezone's comments HAVE helped me abstain FURTHER AND FURTHER AWAY from the worldliness in the "church."

I have known since I was a child to abstain from people who drink, curse, smoke, who tell sexual jokes, and dress promiscuously. It was easy to identify THOSE evil.

But I felt uneasy about contemporary Christian music and Gospel music starting in the early 1990's. A lot of Christian music began to sound more and more like pop music. In the black community, gospel music began to sound like music that came from the world.

I have YET to hear ANYBODY be a WATCHMAN on the wall...And CALL THESE PEOPLE OUT.

Timezone's messages may not reach the ilks of you but you do not speak for me.

Do you know that GEORGE CLINTON and Parliament-Funkadelic was one of MY favorite non-Christian groups? I WAS STILL listening to them because they have a groovy beat and their songs didn't have any cussing. But when Timezone shared his testimony about his brother feeling demonic presences in a room they were in, THAT WAS THE FIRST AND FINAL STRAW.

In the Black church, music celebrities are WORSHIPPED. And NO ONE is calling them out. I NEEDED TO SEE the NAMES of the WOLVES who are in sheep's clothing. I need to know the name, so that I can re-examine that person's fruit. If Timezone gave me the name of some unknown musician, I wouldn't have anything anything to research about that individual. But people like Kirk Franklin...that is somebody I do can research. Timezone recently shared a YouTube video on here and I was SHOCKED at Kirk Franklin's comments, appearance, and behavior.

Kirk Franklin might not EVER come to this website. So what? God has used TimeZone to take the blinders off my eyes! And God COULD have Kirk Franklin cross paths with Timezone!

The comment you wrote is offkey (pun intended). You said that you wouldn't listen to Timezone if you were a struggling artist, because he isn't full of compassion. Since WHEN are we to be "compassionate" about sin? If you were struggling in the industry...THAT SOUNDS LIKE you are trying to fit in and be a household name. God doesn't let ANYBODY "struggle" when He calls them. A person might face opposition, but he should look into the Lord where his help comes from!

I typed a lengthy response in response to your lengthy response.

In conclusion, your response is like this: Watch out for people who are ungodly! Watch and show compassion for them!! BUT I would be like "WHO "anonymous" ? WHO are you talking about? Everyone in the sheep's fence LOOKS like a sheep to me."

THEN Timezone says..."Let me help you out. That sheep by the name of ------ . Last week he was out with Rick Ross drinking. NOW I have something to go by! NOW I can say wow! That "sheep" is still dabbling in the world. I will pray but AVOID that lukewarm, compromising sheep until he stops acting like a wolf!!

"STRIVE to enter into the narrow gate, because wide is the gate which leads to destruction."

    3. Look...you really missed the point here about what TIMEZONE is saying. And as Scriptures says, "In all thy getting, get understanding". It appears here you are not seeking to do so.

TIMEZONE is not calling anyone out. He is sharing his personal experience (unique to him) on an open forum called a BLOG. YOUR actions are very unbecoming, AS WE ARE never admonished to suggest to any now WHO TO PRAY FOR. The whole nature of prayer is personal, between the CHRISTIAN and GOD. The individual should do so without ceasing as often as the Spirit leads. JUST LIKE with Forgiveness, we should not preach others should forgive. The Lord give the command "YOU FORGIVE IF YOU WANT TO BE FORGIVEN" DON'T ask or suggest to TIMEZONE, HE should pray...YOU MAKE SURE YOU pray, even For Timezone, of you think He's in error. TAKE A TO YOUR OWN advice, because when you don't do so, you are really are coming across as being manipulative. It's songs like the one here by DeiTRICK that sets the tone this FOLLY. I know I may be off point a bit, but Ifor DeiTRICK desires a billion to bow down, He should have taken that in secret in his closet to GOD alone, not on some stage with an audience as he collected his money at the end. LEAVE TIMEZONE alone. YOU DO YOU. THERE is room for all of us at the altar.

So cut out the foolishness, suggesting Timezone behaved inappropriately. He noted the behavior of these so called Christians, and testified to their wrong doing. THE Lord promised to bring every dark deed to light.

Your focus is more so on the secondary things he is saying. The main point, which you seem to intentionally want to ignore, is His passion telling the truth about the wickedness that's currently happening even today, the saints need to be discerning of and warned about. That's where you sir go blind.

I sugguest you fall in line with what this man is doing. Stop coming off like you are so caring for these sinnersuch. Don't nobody needs to hear your twisted passion for prayer. Prayer is what you do (that should be the title replacement for the song "PRAISE IS WHAT YOU DO"), NOT something you talk about and tell others to do.

    4. I will never fall in line with how some here operate. Jesus cares for sinners just like you and just like me because we are all sinners, saved by grace. It seems that some just have higher opinions of themselves than they aught and the focus on the sins of others instead of their own sins.

I focus on the potential God placed in His people and the fact that He doesn't give up on His children.

I could run down a literal list of those in the Bible who I guess you all would have given up on and maligned, people like Moses and Rehab and Jacob and Noah.

Even Samson and David are mentioned in Hebrews 11 and we all know how they fell short.

If my aim is to be more like Jesus who love sinners so much that He willingly went to the cross to save sinners then I will just keep right on aiming to love sinners to.

I will aim to hate sin and the true enemy.

    5. You are lying. You should list you focus on others like Timezone praying for those with sinful behavior and calling them out. And here you come again acting all caring about the sinner. Again like I said you don't think sinners should be called out, stop calling out real saints like TIMEZONE.

YOU'D do better lining up with Timezone to expose sin (biblical by the way), OR just respond to the Post. YOU are wasting your breathe in a very defensive way. It's annoying.

    6. Thank you for confirming one of my points "outta here." Time zone said his aim was for correction and it seems you too picked up on the possibility that mentioning people by name and proclaiming their supposed sins was actually for the purposes of "calling them out" rather than for the purposes of "correction."

I will also say again that I had not problem with Biblical "correction" which if done appropriately would be fruitful in the manner that Nathan did when he went to David about his sin. David was present for the rebuke/correction. There was fruitfulness in the correction.

I will say again, Jesus loved sinners so much that He was willing to die on the cross for us and I aim to be more like Him, as He works on me. If you get joy and feel good about hating anyone including sinners that is totally up to you.

    7. You not only missed timezone point, your missed mine as well. You now are quarreling. I said that TIMEZONE mentioned these people by name as he shared his experience his main point to warn about their sinful actions to help us discern conflicting matters going on in the name of the Lord. You tell timezone where his focus should be, yet you are HERE focusing on Him calling names, suggesting he should pray. If yuu feel timezone is in error, pray for him as your suggest and don't come across boasting your compassion for the sinners. JESUS cited his compassion for Children, he had compassion for the sinner woman who wiped his feet with her tears. These folks timezone mention do not have the attitudes of this sinner lady, nor some of the others Christ saved. Even the centurion, when he showed humility, Christ responded to his friends, not to.the elders who said about him he built the synagogues. He did not how compassion to pharisees who invited him to eat. As a matter of fact he said about the pharisee he did kiss him wash his feet nor annoint his feet, LUKE 7.

YOUR focus to "love the sinner" is misapplied. SORRY. YOU are not gaining any points here even as you ignore the testimony of tooprotected who said the names Timezone mentioned opened her eyes.

    1. And after that comment, let me get to my college basketball brackets. I love ya'll, God Bless and even the individuals who's purpose is being used to blur the lines between what's true worship and what's entertainment and how the record companies continue to tell artist to ease up on talking about anything pertaining to sin. Ya'll remember the lyrics the Winans had? The song "Tomorrow?" Any of ya'll know about the most underrated female group of all time, Witness? That cd entitled "Standard" or what about the cd entitled, "Mean what you Say?" smh... Bruh, they don't write like this anymore. Why? The enemy has come in and ain't nobody saying nothing except a few. And thanks to the comments of Get Outta Here and to all the Anonymous' throughout this posting. I even thank you all for those that disagree with me. God bless....

    2. OH! One more thing. hmmmmmm... Isn't it ironic that throughout this entire website that Ms. Ann has privileged us to be able to post our comments througout (and this is by no means a slight against Ms. Ann) but there are postings of preachers, singers, churches etc... both positive and negative?! Oh, I know what some will say to me on this.. "But Timezone.. that ain't the samething!" LOL...smh.. holla ya'll.

  16. God uses even the ungodly to glorify his name sometimes. The Art on its own is one thing, I don't think that you have to like or agree with an artist to like their work. Personally some of these artist I don't like and professionally I don't like them either but some of their work I do like. I think their work can standalone from their personal lives. As long as God is being glorified. Just like the scriptures say when it mentioned even though a preacher might be doing it for the wrong reasons some are still being saved. So regardless of motivations and personal lives an artist's work can stand on it's own merit and be helpful to other Christians. Too many times we combine the two and end up bringing a biased opinion to a work on it's own would be considered stellar (see what I did there lol).

    1. SORRY…You only got one thing right here! And that is, Deitrick and his contempories are "ungodly". This is most certainly evident by their lack of testimony, and by the fruit they bear.

You keep wanting to use the excuse of liking, agreeing and preferences and all, when it has not to do with these such things at all. It has ALL to do with God's words, studying to understand and live by it. Plain and simple.

I hate to have to continue to repeat here, the two simple Scriptures Ephesians 5:19 "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;" and Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” You continue to want to ignore God's WORD to develop your own truths to please YOUR FLESH. God is not glorified by that, nor is He glorified by these high profile sinners who are in outright rebellion against His commands.

As a matter of fact they trash to say about hymns are they "out of date" and refrain the calling of the Bible to sing them. They are ignorant as to the meaning of what a "spiritual song" is, and in their very own pride, substitute to produce silly, trite, carnal songs in their way to blasphame calling it gospel.

The GOSPEL is all men are sinners in need of a SAVIOR. God sent his Son to die so if men believe they would live. The messages of the songs of these ungodly people do not reflect this truth, as they seek to place man in a position of favor, deserving their Blessing from God.

GOD is in no way glorified by their strange sounds, the message im their music, or the lifestyle they claim as being His ministers. You even go on in your flesh to butcher Scriptures out of context, to justify YOUR relativitisc ideology. Here is what Paul wrote Phillipians 1:12-20 "But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

TAKE TO NOTE how PAUL mentioned HIS TRIALS advanced the GOSPEL. Unlike Paul, THESE FOLKS could care nothing about suffering for the Gospel sake, none the less suffering so the Gospel is promoted. They are not even preaching the Gospel (Man sinned.God redeemed.). They only share in their songs, to usher men into the kingdom, into a new dimension, using their music as a snake charm to cause many to go into an altered state of consciousness so they can use the power of suggestion to manipulate others into falsehood. These artist's work is worldly, lack the true Gospel message, and man-centered rather than Christ Centered.

  17. I hear you but not all Christian artist water down their music etc. Also I think it is safe to say that you cannot speak for God and what He feels glorifies Him. Let's not overstep our bounds here. Let's look at these verses again:

    Philippians 1:15‭-‬18 NLT

It’s true that some are preaching out of jealousy and rivalry. But others preach about Christ with pure motives. They preach because they love me, for they know I have been appointed to defend the Good News. Those others do not have pure motives as they preach about Christ. They preach with selfish ambition, not sincerely, intending to make my chains more painful to me. But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice.

Ok so we see that Paul is saying IT DOESN'T MATTER what their motives were if it's for selfish ambition etc as long as Christ is magnified. This same principle can be applied to Christian artist and their music. Some of them have selfish motives, unsure and unjust hearts but their art, only some not all, magnify Christ in a great way. Paul says REJOICE!!! OK yeah some of them might cuss or smoke weed or have sex outside of marriage in their personal lives but no one is perfect (not excusing their behavior bc they are to be held to a higher standard since they now have a higher responsibility) but as afr as their professional lives what they do for Christ on that front... REJOICE!!! Look at these lyrics and tell me that any Christian shouldn't rejoice from it:

LeCrae - Don't Waste Your Life

    We're created for Him
Outta the dust he made us for Him
Elects us and he saves us for Him
Jesus comes and he raises for Him
Magnify the Father why bother with something lesser
He made us so we could bless Him
To the world we confess Him
    Resurrects Him
So I know I got life
Matter fact better man I know I got Christ
If you don't see His ways in my days and nights
You can hit my brakes you can stop my life
    Then I lost my rights
    I lost my life
Forget the money cars and toss that ice
    The cost is Christ
And they could never offer me anything on the planet that would cost that price.

Lol yeah I'm sure Christ isn't magnified by those lyrics and God isn't glorified by thousands of kids singing that smh.

    1. You started here saying "as long as it glorifies God", as if YOU Know what Glorifies Him?

And when I said what glorifies Him, your then suggest I may be overstepping my bounds? Your must be drinking, you can't see your tired circular hypocrisy. CUT IT OUT and stop trying to be so argumentative. And by the way, I CAN SAY WHAT glorifies Him, the things He said in His word what glorifies Him.

The song you listed by LACRAE is HOLY HIP HOP, again there is nothing holy about hip hop. This example does not tie at all to the verse by Paul - as long as Paul's SUFFERING, HE rejoices the GOSPEL he lives to DIE FOR is PREACHED.

Even the title of LACRAE'S song HERE pretty much sums it up, AN IDEA THAT HE wants to subject. THIS song is a mumble jumble disjointed FRAGMENTED mix of mess that is worldly and testifies of SELF.

LIKE I suggested to you before, instead of spending God's money on alcohol and weed, buy a hymnal, learn those songs and admonish to make melody in your heart as the Spirit speaks to your spirit and move your soul.pt praise. Try for starters "How Great THOU Art".

  18. Well we will have to agree to disagree bro. God is glorified and glories in His son being glorified. Those lyrics and songs give the glory to Christ thus God is glorified by them and He glories in them since they glorify His son.

I disagree that hip hip can't be Holy. Anything can be Holy if it submits itself to Christ. If you make hip hop music and submit it to the Lord then it becomes Holy and acceptable. The music is just a tool how you use it gives it significance/meaning. Hip hop by itself is amoral. It is neither good or bad.

But that's just my opinion and you obviously have your own :)

    1. Nope...WE don't have to do nothing.

YOU HAVE to not believe the lie, music is amoral. Its a proven fact musuc has influence. IVE ALREADY WENT OVER THAT WITH YOU BEFORE!!

Your need to know and believe Ephesians and COLOSSIANS that spiritual songs are about making melody in your hearts. You need to pray and ask God to really open your eyes to study to know you can't call that which is profane "holy". Yo keep resisting because your want to satisfy your flesh.

YOU need not involve yourself with anything or anyone who would denounce hymns biblical the word of God) to create their own music of the flesh. You need like I said, to buy a hymnal, learn the songs and make melody in your heart and do RIGHT BY GOD'S WORD. YOU DON'T WANT TO DO "HOW Great THOU Art". What about Jesus Paid It All"

      Jesus paid it all,
      All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
      For nothing good have I
      Whereby Thy grace to claim;
      I’ll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.
      And now complete in Him,
      My robe, His righteousness,
      Close sheltered ’neath His side,
      I am divinely blest.
      Lord, now indeed I find
      Thy pow’r, and Thine alone,
Can change the *leper’s spots [*leopard’s]
And melt the heart of stone.
      When from my dying bed
      My ransomed soul shall rise,
“Jesus died my soul to save,”
      Shall rend the vaulted skies.
      And when before the throne
      I stand in Him complete,
      I’ll lay my trophies down,
      All down at Jesus’ feet.

AND BY THE way your last response about drinking ALCOHOL was RIDICULOUS!

  20. @GET OUTTA DODGE!!!

In several places you drag old-time Black culture through the MUD...making fun of soul food and old gospel singers...

THEN you have the GALL to admonish Big Chris (a young believer) to read and make melody in his heart with those dry-sound HYMNALS found in the dusty bins of the lily white church you attend! The hypocrisy is MIND-BLOWING!

@Big Chris if you read this, make up your OWN hymns. It doesn't have to be a hymn from 1842. But one of MY FAVORITE NEGRO SPIRITUALS IS 'WADE IN THE WATER CHILDREN'
