Is It OK For Christians To Use Marijuana?

Reader, is it ok for Christians to use marijuana? Are Christians hypocrites? Why is it ok to purchase alcohol and wine as a Christian, but if you confess to smoking pot, somehow your a drug addict?  A growing number of Christians today believe that it is biblically permissible to use cannabis recreationally. Are they right?

According to the latest finding alcohol is responsible for over 100,000 deaths yearly, from car accidents, domestic violence, and over dose. There is no record stating marijuana has ever killed anyone who uses it, not to mention all the positive medical benefits cannabis gives compared to alcohol, which is known for cirrhosis of the liver, and other damaging health issues.

Is it ok for Christians to use marijuana?

  1. Miss Ann,

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" (1 Peter 5:8)

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

    1. Amen Shepherd...PERFECTLY PUT...But you know me, I just have to be a little long winded at times...Soooo

Ok...I'm going to talk off the top of my head on this one. I know some here comment about me, that all I just come here because I don't have a life. That's okay. LOLOL...cause you see...I have life more abundantly as I can have an opinion formed by Truth, as we all Christians should, to speak to matters of contemporary issues the devil brings forth his tricks to challenge the children of God. All we got to do is know the TRUTH and we can smell a LIE a mile away.

Now, when it comes to drinking, we should abstain from alcohol. Solomon say in Proverbs "Who hath woe? Who hath sorrows? Who hath babbling? Who hath contention? Who hath wounds without causes? Who had redness of eyes?

They that tarry long after the wine. They that go to seek mixed mixed (fermented) wine.

Then he goes on to say..."LOOK NOT UPON THE WINE when it is red (fermented), when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like an serpent and stingeth like an adder.

It's quite evident, the Lord give perfectly the behavior of a drunk man. And no need to continue to rehash in baby talk the issue of drinking in moderation. Especially to say Jesus turned water into fermented wine. JESUS IS way better than Habakkuk the prophet who said explicitly, we should Never enable "drunkenness". Nor we should infer in any way Jesus offered fermented wine at the Lord's Supper.

I spoke all this about the general use of the word wine in another post, RIGHT BIG CHRI$.

SO BIG CHRI$, if you drinking will listening to that gospel crap rap...STOP IT!!!

NOW about Marijuana, it's called pot. And people who uses pot on a regular are called pot heads. From the verses penned by Solomon above, we can tell alcohol is a depressant. That's why the wise man said "WOE". And about pot, it's said even from potheads themselves it has an affect where the drive for life and living can become stagnated. This drug lazies the brain.

The Lord wants us to live sober lives, and in the fullness of the Spirit. Christian living is about the virility of living in the newness of the life given to us through Christ. This gift should never suffer because of any carnal desire within us. We all know the negative repercussions and impact of alcohol. Death, murder, physical damage to the body, etc. It's said about alcohol the body can rid all its content on about 24 hours. About Marijuana, it can stays in the system up to seven days.

And no need to justify using this drug for medicinal purposes. We all know this drug is being pushed by the minions of Satan out of greed and destruction of the goyims.

      I'm Done...

But I'll be remiss of my calling (LOL) not to open my "Gold plated Bible" to let the LORD speak as he inspired Paul to write to the Church of Thessalonica to say

"But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him."

YOU feel me BIG CHRI$...and by the way YOU NEED TO REMOVE THAT MONEY Sign from YOUR Name. You coming on the OLD BLACK CHURCH as some wanna be rapper. Shame on YOU!

    2. Go ahead Get Outta Here!!!

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

    3. You want comment about 44 in here unless I allow it. Now keep hiding behind those alternative facts.

    4. Thanks Shepherd...

There are many Scriptures that speaks against MARIJUANA use. It's said that half the NBA players uses it. I look at that guy John Wall of the Wizard, who his high even as he plays, not that he is not a good player, but I'm wondering how he would be without the use of that drug. Some buy into the devil's lie it helps to relax them. YEAH, cause it's causing YOUR BRAIN cells to code out. You will never reach full maturity in Christ using.

      The LORD says

"The soul of the sluggard desireth, and [hath] nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat." Proverbs 13:4

"The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute."Proverbs 12:24

"The way of the slothful [man is] as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous [is] made plain." Proverbs 15:19

"By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through." Ecclesiastes 10:18

Then YOU have these "so-called saints" who supports marijuana use and drinking in "moderation" QUICK to quote verses like

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me... While taking a nip and smoking a blunt. REALLY?

      THE LORD says...

      Colossians 3:23 - And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

NOT even for the satisfaction of YOUR VERY OWN FLESH...

We should be sober in our BODY and in OUR MINDS. We should NEVER BE DOUBLE NINDED when it comes to the devices of THE DEVIL.

    5. MS. Ann...What are you talking about? YOUR post is about marijuana. WHAT is wrong with you? I only responded to the topic per the post.

    6. here is what is said from a Medical Website -

      Detecting the Presence of Marijuana

When marijuana is inhaled or ingested, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and other cannabinoids are absorbed into the bloodstream. THC is detectable in the blood for only a short time before being broken down into molecules known as metabolites. These metabolites are stored in fat and are eliminated from the body over time. Determining exactly how long marijuana stays in the body depends greatly on how long THC and its metabolites remain in the following biological specimens:

Urine reveals the presence of THC-COOH, a THC metabolite, for up to EIGHT (8) days after a single use of marijuana. The accuracy of urine testing declines after about a week, but many frequent or heavy marijuana users continue to test positive for up to 15 and 90 days, respectively. Diluting urine with water or other substances can increase the chances of a false-negative result.

Hair provides the longest record of past marijuana use, and detection times are based on hair length. It takes about 5-10 days for hair containing THC-COOH to grow above the scalp where it can be extracted, and moving from root to tip, every half inch of hair provides a 30-day detection window. A standard hair test uses a 1.5-inch sample of hair cut at the scalp line, and covers a 90-day detection period. The results of hair analysis are not affected by external contaminants, such as hair dyes and styling products.

THC is detectable in the blood for appropriately six to 24 hours after a single use of marijuana. Heavy or frequent use can produce positive results for up to a week.

Saliva testing offers the shortest detection window and thus provides a record of more recent marijuana use. THC is most readily detectable in saliva one to two hours after ingestion, but can continue to produce positive results for up to 12 hours. The results of saliva analysis are not always reliable because only minimal amounts of marijuana are excreted in saliva.

    7. The comment is a reply to a comment that was deleted.

    8. O OK...You had me going for a minute. You replied right under me. It's all good now.

  2. LOL Jesus made WINE not grape juice.

There is only one group of people who are explicitly told in the Bible to never drink wine/alcohol, and that is the Nazirites (Numbers 6:1–4). Jesus was not a Nazirite; He was a “Nazarene,” a native of the town of Nazareth (Luke 18:37). Jesus never took the Nazirite vow.

Christ’s first miracle of turning water into wine at the wedding at Cana almost certainly involved a fermented beverage. According to Jewish wedding tradition, fermented wine was always served at weddings; if Jesus had provided only grape juice, the master of the feast would have complained. Instead, he said the wine was better than what was previously served; it was apparently a “fine” wine (John 2:10–11).

The Greek word for “drunk” in John 2:10 is methuo, which means “to be drunken” or intoxicated. It is the same word used in Acts 2:15 where Peter is defending the apostles against accusations of drunkenness. The testimony of the master of the feast is that the wine Christ produced was able to intoxicate.

    -Big Chri$

    1. Big Chris, I see you still got that $. Dude, give it UP!

Look...I read the article posted on gotquestion. I found it interesting and took note their conclusion, "Christians who want to keep a biblical view of drinking wine should either drink in moderation, never to drunkenness, or abstain totally.".

No need to SOFT PEDDLE AND admomish "abstinence", if JESUS DRANK ALCOHOLIC WINE!!!

And for your source to say The Passover celebration would also have commonly included fermented wine. NOT TRUE!!! At the PASSOVER, they were instructed to have nothing containing YEAST (fermentation), BREAD of WINE. When the Bible talks "fruit of the vine", it's talking UNFERMENTED!

  3. As for Weed yes in some cases it is perfectly fine for a Christian to use it and in some cases it might not be. It all depends. Medically yes, recreationally probably not.

From a Biblical worldview and a logical one as well I would say that's an honest and fair answer.

    -Big Chris+opher

    1. Big Chris+opher

"Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble." (Job 14:1)

Why would anyone add weed to these few days for recreation?

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

    2. I see you removed the $...

I've given you several scriptures against drunkedness, applicable to "getting high". The Lord wants us sober. Potheads lose the drive for life and living, totally against all principles of the "new life" in Christ.

Now you give me some Biblical examples where even an inkling of SMOKING WEED, may be ok. I know the Biblle does not speak of smoking weed. But all the principles of Scriptures seem to discourage any work to satisfy one's flesh. My peace I give to YOU, not through the relaxation of THE BLUNT!
