Christian Leader Stands Up Against Trump Immoral Behavior Is Now At Risk Of Getting Fired!

Reader The Southern Baptist Convention’s decision to investigate Russell Moore has huge implications for black SBC churches.

Prominent Black Southern Baptist pastor, Dwight McKissic, who, along with the SBC's first Black President Fred Luter and others, are raising concerns over the decision to of the investigate head of the Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission leader Russell Moore for not endorsing Donald Trump?

Russell Moore was scheduled to meet with the SBC's Executive Committee president Frank Page yesterday over the mounting calls for his resignation. According to some, Russell Moore has been one of the most godly, intelligent, gospel-focused voices in the American church over the last few years. And people want him to resign because he says that Trump is a poor choice for president? He is!

The greatest criticism of Russell Moore is due to his push back against political pastors who fawned over Trump and shrugged off his immoral behavior and speech.  Some of Moore's loudest critics were campaigning from the pulpit for a man that they would have denounced publicly if he had run as a democrat. Make no mistake the disapproval of Moore stems from politics, nothing else.

  1. Ms. Ann this why I don't understand why black people still go to church with these people and praise god when these people clearly care about one thing and that is white supremacy!

He has a huge following many millennials, latinos, asians and african americans and other minorities and other white evangelicals who agree with him on racial reconciliation are still in S.B.C because of him they would have left a long time ago if it hadn't been for him.

  4. Well, some people will have to separate themselves and stand up for what they believe in. Any Christian who supports Trump is automatically discredited in my head and will never get my support.

  7. I personally know Dr. Moore and think highly of his courage to address crucial issues in the Southern Baptist Convention and this to me is a clear sign of many in that fellowship's adherence to political ideology over the authentic gospel. He's been challenging racist and bigotry in the denomination that has been quietly making a comeback especially here in Southern states.

    1. Lorenzo, Moore seems like a good guy. No wonder they want him out.

    2. Do they want him out because he personally attacking THEM for voting for TRUMP? Everyone has their right to vote for whomever they choose. People's political perspectives will always differ. If his race reconciliation ministry is successful, maybe he just concentrate on that and not focus on those who voted for TRUMP. IJS.

    3. Anonymous when you push aside the obfuscation it seems clear that Southern Baptists have targeted Moore largely because he refused to pretend that Trump was a good man or candidate. At the very least, Moore’s principled opposition to Trump was the last straw to those Southern Baptists who’ve replaced God with party. They didn't like it because he pointed it out.
This, more than anything, is the trap of attempting to place a man like racist, misogynist,Donald Trump in leadership. The problem isn’t that Trump himself will damage the country, but that professing Christians, in their rush to support their man, will give a pass to his sin. Even worse, these Southern Baptists have expressed their refusal to tolerate anyone who doesn’t join them in ignoring sin. In that, Russell flat out refuse to back down.

    4. Ms. Ann, Ms. Ann, Ms. Ann… All I got to say is this, and I am going to try to keep it brief. You gotta be careful when concluding the SBC refuse to tolerate anyone who does not join them in sin.

First of all there are only a small amount of SBC churches (100 of the 46,000) that have threatened to cut off financial support to the SBC’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, headed by Russell Moore. These folks feel Moore is very condescending in his tone, judging them they are ungodly.

I know people can grow over time, but Moore is really coming across as paid opposition to stir POLITICS and RELIGION - Trump and the SBC. There were many opportunities Moore had to preach the ungodly ways of the SBC tolerance / lack of tolerance of sin. Instead of waiting for TRUMP to get in office, he should have campaigned in this manner during the election, especially since he said he was not for TRUMP or Hilary. If Moore is about the WORD of God and godliness within the CHURCH, he should NOW hone in on the command to PRAY for the PRESIDENT. That'll be the godly thing to do.

It's true, the SBC spoke out adamantly against Bill Clinton his sins. No need to just exaggerate to judge the SBC here because they never put out anything official about the sins of other Presidents. I guess the SBC just had strong convictions about Bill Clinton having sex in the White House with an intern and publically lying about it. That was a little bit over the top, at least to me Ms. Ann. Maybe they should have spoke out against Trump's sins, but if that's the case he should have done so for all other PONTUS as well. Although they didn't publicly protest the sins of past leaders, I'm quite sure they hold their acts as ungodly.

Like I said, Moore should just concentrate on his ministry of race relations and let us know how that's going. He'll have a better leg to stand on if he cites the obstacles he faces there as opposed to calling out the SBC over TRUMP.
