Once Again How to Live Under A Morally Unqualified President!

Image
Reader what a good timing for a re-post. Pastor John Piper posted this article on January 20, 2017 and got a lot of backlash....but it's even more comforting today. Let us continue to pray for love to reign in our country - the love of God and our neighbor, not the love of power, pride, money or anything else. They will know we are Christians by our love.

“Donald Trump treats language — the medium of truth — as a wax nose to be bent and molded to create a desired outcome, whether it corresponds to the truth or not.”

100 Christian Leaders To Sign A New Letter Opposing Trump's Massive Proposed Cuts To Foreign Aid.

Reader it saddens me how Trump puts our national security over and above helping the least of these. Scripture tells us that helping these people is helping Jesus himself. I'm glad there are leaders in the Christian community who are willing to speak out on behalf of those in need.

Christian Leaders Respond to Trump’s Budget: We Can’t Turn Our Backs on Those in Need

The Trump administration recently announced a plan to induce “deep cuts to foreign aid”adding, “it is time to prioritize the security and well-being of Americans, and to ask the rest of the world to step up and pay its fair share.” The U.S. Agency for International Development helps some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.

"America is blessed with fertile land, abundant natural resources, a strong economy, and faithful citizens who value religious freedom. But beyond our borders, many countries experience unparalleled suffering and loss of life due to extreme poverty, disease, natural disasters, and conflict."

Timothy Cardinal Dolan, National Association of Evangelicals President Leith Anderson, World Vision’s Rich Stearns, singer Amy Grant and Rev. Johnnie Moore are among the more than 100 Christian leaders to sign a new letter opposing President Trump’s massive proposed cuts to foreign aid.

  1. I have always believed that the US government should take care of the needs of Americans first before taking care of other countries so I have no problem with the cut. Anyway this is just a proposal not the final budget.

  2. Charity begins at home first
We have famlies in the United States of America that are homeless that needs homes, food, and clothing. Veteran's Homeless that needs homes, healthcare take care of them. Our Senior Citizens homeless, hungry , can't afford there medications they are more important than anyone else out side of the United States of America.

  3. Thank you William Thomas & Anonymous, you are so right. This is another spiritually ignorant person supporting this Ignorance. The President isn't saying turn your back on those that are "less fortunate", he is saying... LET US TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN NATION.. FIRST! Hatred always blinds you no matter who you are. So sad...You really need to learn how to discern the Bible.

  4. First let me say this, politicians can do all the politicking they want. The Bible tells us the poor we will have with us always. It gives direct command to God's people how we should address the poor and disadvantaged.

However, what really gets me here, are these nuts posing as Christians and godly people, quoting a famous Bible verse to manipulate their phony appeal. Matthew 25 strictly says "And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: "For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat...

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?...And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my BRETHERN, ye have done it unto me.

The LORD says in Hebrews 2:11 "For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,"

AND AGAIN IN Matthew 12:50 "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."

You would think, with all their religious credentials, they would know the meaning of Matt 25. Regardless of the lies they tell, Our BRETHERN are not poor people in some foriegn country. Our brethern are those who are sanctified by the Blood of Jesus Christ. God proves to always honor his people, and those of His who minister to those who are sanctifed. These so-called ministers should know the WORDS of JESUS. Instead they seek to replace His words with their own social gospel, out of their pride and concern they care about the poor. What a JOKE!

Now here, they seem to team in their falsehood to speak evil of dignitaries (the President). Anyone who supports these foolish individuals in anyway are supporting the hands of the wicked. All our works are as filthy rags. All works done apart from the Savior will be done in VAIN.

I will be so glad when Ms. Ann banned your A**, this is what 81% of Evangelical Christians voted for. To "Make America Great Again" we have to have Conservative judges, criminalize abortion and keep the Muslims out and this has to be done, to borrow a phrase from Malcolm X, by any means necessary.

  5. Just want to point out a quick something for a contrary view: Jesus, in Matthew 25 and all of His other narratives on charity, is talking to the individual (note the *ones* He is separating from one another in Matt 25). Jesus never said, "Let the government steal from those who have, and give it to those who have not."

This failure of properly delineating between personal sacrifice for charity and government theft has been the source of The Great Confusion from which Christians suffer today. The great call for the federal government to do this (very un-Constitutional) charity understandably takes away from the individual Christian's urgency to do his part and give.

Likewise, churches have (in large part) been rather negligent in instructing their respective congregants to be vigorously participating in Jesus' instructional words to the poor.

While what Trump is doing seems to be ruthless and mean, he's actually proposing a return to a Constitutional rule of law; something we have been increasingly forsaking with swift and reckless abandon.
