Your Gift Will Make Room For You: Chance The Rapper Is Turning Down '$10m offers' To Stay Independent!

Reader, according to the late great, Dr. Myles Monroe one of the least understood principles of success but at the same time one of the most vital is this - your God-given gift will make room for you. We were each born with God-given gifts, skill, and abilities.

Dr. Myles Monroe was known for his driving force behind drilling those points home when he used to show us the importance of discovering our gift and talent using it to its fullest potential. In my opinion, Chance the Rapper is a typical example of that idea at the present time.

Chance the Rapper is reportedly turning down some very generous record label offers after he achieved a historic win at the 2017 Grammy Awards. Chance The Rapper for many represents the uprising of a revolutionary wave of millennials that refuse to be held back or boxed in by "the establishment" and the old way of doing things. 'No label, no problem, my gift will make room for me.

The scriptures tell us that a person's gift opens doors for them, bringing them access to important people. And a gift is a precious stone in the eyes of him that has it: wherever it turns, it prospers.

  1. I am very proud of him standing up for himself. He has seen Low Down Dirty Dealings of the Recording Buisness. He wants to continue have the Total Control over his music. And himself. May God Bless him to continue to stay strong in the Lord. And don't get caught up in the Demonic Forces of Hollywood.

    1. Anonymous,

Oh, Chance is already caught up in the Demonic Forces of Hollywood. The award that he received was for the album where he was obscene and all and NOT for the fact that he is now a Christian.

  2. Miss Ann,

Please reference the portion of scripture that clearly relates to "a person's gift opens doors for them and brings them access to important people". And how this is profitable in the here after.

The "your gift will make room for you" principle is a ploy by the enemy to trick you to worship self instead of God. Beware!

PS - I think this is a set up for y'all who think that Chance is a man of God. He has collaborated with other artists who are signed onto other music labels. Trust, it is only a matter of time before his behind is signed up by the music industry to a label.

    1. Anonymous, I usually agree with you, but I have to break ranks right here on this:

"A man's gift makes room for him And brings him before great men." -Proverbs 18:16 (New American Standard Bible)

      So...

    2. Thank you Walker,

For responding aptly with scripture. The other part of the question was on how this is profitable in the here after.

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

    3. Well Anonymous, while we're waiting for our entry into the hereafter, we still have to eat and bills have to be paid, correct?

I mean, do you think that the Lord wants us to go lacking while we're on this side of eternity?

Long answer short, no it does not have any profit in the hereafter, but that does help us while we're waiting. ;)

    4. You are right sir!

God doesn’t want us to go hungry. “… if any would not work, neither should he eat.” (1 Thessalonians 3:10).

So talent is for here and now, i.e. temporary. Just like Paul says of bodily exercise; “… For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.” (1 Timothy 4:7-9).

Proverbs 18:16 is true. But believers should focus on what Jesus came to fulfill – the law and the prophets. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” (Matthew 5:17). Our life should be about obeying God’s commandments and his WORD. For this is how we prove ourselves to God “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15).

Unfortunately, the preachers putting out these so called “Principles of Success” dangerously omit that they are not profitable and they do NOT in any way emphasize godliness. So the young generation looks at those who attain worldly accolades and riches and equate that to success. Little do they know that this is for here and now and not of that which is to come.

      Sad!

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want…

  3. This guy is no more Christian, than my pet dog is a Christian. His song Blessings…

I'm gon' praise Him, praise Him 'til I'm gone
I'm gon' praise Him, praise Him 'til I'm gone
When the praises go up, the blessings come down
When the praises go up, the blessings come down
It seems like blessings keep falling in my lap
It seems like blessings keep falling in my lap

    [Verse 2]
They booked the nicest hotels on the 59th floor
With the big wide windows, with the suicide doors
Ain't no blood on my money, ain't no Twitter in Heaven
I know them drugs isn't close, ain't no visitin' Heaven
I know the difference in blessings and worldly possessions
Like my ex girl getting pregnant
    And her becoming my everything
I'm at war with my wrongs, I'm writing four different songs
I never forged it or forfeited, I'm a force to be reconciled
    They want four minute songs
You need a four hour praise dance performed every morn
I'm feeling shortness of breath, so Nico grab you a horn
Hit Jericho with a buzzer beater to end a quarter
Watch brick and mortar fall like dripping water, ugh!
    (Good God)

(Are you ready for your miracle?)
When the praises go up, the blessings come down
(Are you ready, are you ready?)
(Are you ready, are you ready?)
(Are you ready, are you ready?)

No wonder the title of this album is called “COLORING BOOK”. The content is very childish, as he spits and drools and coos and allow his tongue to shake while sputtering out ga-ga, goo-goo.

Not just the songs he sings, but the words that come out of his mouth ARE VULGAR…

When addressing a song sung by a Black Choir (I have no idea why any church choir would grace any stage with this guy $$$) Chance said about the song - “The duality of softness and aggression, of blackness and sH@#. I want the energy of it—it should almost be scary.”

And even in his sense of worldly luxury, he says –

They called it the Koi Kastle. “It was like a big-ass rapper mansion.” Then Blake removed himself from the lease and left Chance to pay the whole rent. Chance set up a studio there. “I had the pool. I had the movie theater. I had the basketball court. I was doing it real big. I was Xanned out every fucking day.”

Even though Scripture says “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Ephesians 4:29.

    AND

“Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.” Titus 2:6-8

And we want to embrace this fellow as Christian, and shoot him some shout outs because he is “independent”. If they can’t tell me their experience, when they literally, came to the knowledge, their need for a Savior, and really talked about how the WORD of God cause them to see God differently, cause them to see themselves differently, I will never ever believe their story.

Then about company he keeps…Kanye, Macklemore, etc. In time he made local friends: Jeremih, BJ the Chicago Kid, J. Cole, Frank Ocean. “A lot of those people would be at my house constantly.”Come on “FRANK OCEAN”? A professed Sodomite! And don’t forget, CHANCE is managed by Pat Corcoran, who is his handler. No telling about this guy. This Chance DUDE is demonic, and he’s cut a deal with Satan, as evident the awards he received on his highest stage.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

      LOL!!!

Back to the subject at hand, thanks for sharing the lyrics of Chance's song. Most musicians know they can get "sympathy votes/support" from Christians if only they mention Jesus/God/Blessings.

PS - who came up with when praises go up, blessings come down?

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

    2. Thanks "Shepherd"...

      YOU already know...

I ain't afraid of no GHOST.

I had a situation over 15 years ago, my daughter sung in this "girls group" at church. The young lady had the girls sit on stools like they were at a bar, took the scarfs from around their necks, and throw them on the ground like a strip tease act. I immediately remove my girl from the group and their "worship" team. The young lady in charge of the group left the church, and even today, her mom and the Pastor's wife (good friends) hardly speaks to me.

And back to this DUDE Chance. I only quoted one verse from this song entitled "BLESSED". The rest of the songs are just as BAD!. As a matter of fact, the lyrics of the songs from the entire album, as well as another ALBUM he did ARE HORRIBLE!

This phrase "praises go up, blessing come down" definitely did not originate from Scriptures. Probably from another one of those Biblically Illiterate Pastors, who would teach some cheap word of faith blessing promise to some silly men and women willing to hear a "WORD FROM GOD", as they refuse to open up a Bible and read to study to show themselves approved.

Of course this is one the favorite "verses" of the likes of Juanita and Creflo and Jake and Ole GIRL Shirley and SCARRY MARY MARY and Paula and not to forget "Kurt Carr" even made a song about it he uses to lead many unclean in "worship". WHAT A JOKE!!!

      Stay strong my Sister...

      Many here call me LOUD...

As I say to many others, "I'm not LOUD, I'm just a Black man with a VOICE"...

YOU hear that COGIC MEN Department...

    3. Dude I KNOW you be listening to rap now since you know all the lyrics and all these ppl etc. You be rocking those joints man I already know it. Stop fronting lol. That's between you and God though. Just because you don't agree with the content doesn't mean it don't be rocking lol. I'm sure you keep listening to all these songs "just to inform us not to listen to them" lol. #ImSchleep

    4. Listen "DUDE"...Try applying just some simple logic, if your brain would allow. I am way past this "rap" generation. Old enough to be your father I can tell, cause you are coming across here as very immature. (STRIKE 1) I hope I'm wrong in that you are not older that you sound.

You can find lyrics to almost any of these songs on the internet. All I need to discern is to be give a name, a face, and an event, and I can pretty much smell a rat a mile away.

No need to cast your rocks and hide your hand saying with your double tongue on one hand "I'm fronting", then in the next breath "that's between me and God". (STRIKE 2) In addition you prove you little childish ways assuming (judging) my intent to get "others not to listen". (STRIKE 3 - YOU'RE OUT)

I responded to the article at hand the subject, this dude is no more a Christian than my DOG. This is evident by his works, and the role he plays in the WORLD. And I predict if you keep supporting the hand of the wicked, to fulfill the lust of YOUR FLESH, you will miss the mark and face the wrath and judgment of the ALMIGHTY.

    6. 1. I don't listen to rap music.
      2. I listen to the radio very sparingly while driving, my station tuned to BBN.
      3. Didn't even know a guy by the name of Chance until this article. Correct...only looked up his lyrics on line. I kinda spelled that out my prior responses, some how you allowed the thickness of your brain to discard that.

Cut out the silliness. The Bible
Mentions in Ephesians and colossians, we should admonish one another in song, making MELODY in our hearts, hymns, Psalms, and spiritual songs. That's scriptures that all Christians should heed.

Many of your "Christian" rappers and the likes of Kirk Franklin hate the hymns and refuse in their rebellion to sing them. Don't have the attitude as these such. LEST you will miss out the true blessings of the God given talent many artists who produces spiritual songs to admonish the Saints. STOP arguing and questioning the truth. Rather seek God to open your eyes and give you wisdom to sanctify your soul.

Kirk isn't my boy lol I stopped listening to him a looooooooong time ago. I do listen to some Christian rapper's though, the songs are good and the lyrics are better.

Stay strong in Christ my dude & pray for me also.

    8. Nope. Don't cop out. Go to your church. Pick up a hymnal, or better yet buy one. Go online to listen to some of these songs. Learn them. Sing them. AND GET RID of the RAP CRAP. The whole meaning behind the rap, genre no matter how you spin it, is filthy and degrading. It ain't about getting on a "level".

  4. It kills me how people rubber-stamp secular artists as "Christian," just because they say the word "God," "blessing," or "Jesus" in a song.

The word "Christian" means "like Christ" or "Christ-like.' Christ didn't cuss, smoke weed, sing filthy lyrics, simulate sex or enticing behavior before an audience, hang out in nightclubs, bars, dives and dens, nor live a life that reflected the complete opposite of His Father's character.

The church is so far from HER rightful place until she has developed almost a GROUPIE mentality, when it comes to secular artists and their lifestyles! Love not the world neithee the things OF the world! Come out from among them and be ye SEPERATE saith thr Lord! Claimiing Christianity no more makes you a Christian, than owning a piano makes you a musician!!

Those that still pray, still fast and still revere the Word of the Lord and a lifestyle of Holiness are ALARMED at the carnal state of the church!

From what I've read, Chance is obviously making some smart career and money moves, and I'm ALWAYS happy to see my Black brothers and sisters do that. But he (and a whole lot of other artists claiming to be "Christian') has yet to exhibit any sign of the Holy conversation and lifestyle that sets Believers apart from non-Believers.

    1. Chance clearly isn't a Christian rapper and I haven't heard ANY of his songs but I'm going to check them out now to see what all the hype is about. He might be decent.

But I do say we should pray for him and other similar artists who seem to be struggling w/morality and God. I pray that Jesus will select them as ppl to reveal his glory to and calls them bc without his call we would ALL still be lost. Praise Christ!
