Was Pastor Shirley Caesar "THE MOTHER OF GOSPEL MUSIC" Inappropriately Dress For The Grammy's??

Reader Pastor Shirley Caesar came ready for The Red Carpet at The Grammy's Sunday night, but I don't think the church folks were ready for her. There have been a low murmur on Social media over Pastor Shirley Caesar low cleavage GRAMMY dress. Some are saying she showed to much skin for a lady of the cloth. What do you think?

I'm not even a preacher and I wouldn't feel comfortable in that attire.  I know she was going to an awards show but she is the "MOTHER OF GOSPEL MUSIC." If she doesn't maintain the standard who will??

  1. A pastor is not supposed to dress like that my own personal opinion.

  2. Ann what I find funny is how the same folks who were recently going IN on a certain video concerning modesty, are clicking Like, Love and complementing Pastor Shirley Caesar's dress from the Grammy's.

  3. Miss Ann,

Miss Caesar dressed appropriately for her kind.

If she was a believer in the LORD Jesus and lived according to his precepts, this portion of scripture is what she would have applied: "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel..." (1 Timothy 2:9).

  4. I'll tell you what...you may hear but a low murmur from "social media", but I will cry loud and spare not. Once AGAIN, Satan shows his contempt for Christ, Christianity, and His "real" saints.

The devil used a so called "female bishop" to reveal her "immodest behavior" as only he, the prince of the air, would display on one of his GREATEST STAGES, his media, THE GRAMMYS! Ole Gil Shirley has fallen to accomplished her works, her silly, carnel, trite, little songs and ditties, and is prime candidate to walk his red carpet. No one should be surprised by her antics. The roaches are coming out now even in daylight.

  5. First of all, I wouldn't have even been there. (Oh, I forgot, the record company commands you to be there even if they had a satanic ceremony right in front yo face, lol) Secondly, yes, she need to put some mo' clothes on.

    1. True Timezone!

Miss Caesar would not have made it on the list of invites if she hadn't signed her name on the dotted line, and given her life over to the record company. And we wouldn't have this conversation in the first place.

But now that she dun signed the paper, she has to deal with whatever but she can't unsign her name. It is done. Trying to balance between mammon and Christ is hard. Most times it is Christ that is despised (Matthew 6:24). Cause mammon makes it comfortable ($$$) for one to do so.

      Sad!

  6. And how hold is this woman? A pastor? A bishop? A gospel singer? Dressed like that? I wonder how she would admonish to do the Bible "To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."? I'd like to hear her counsel to young girls to be modest.

  7. You know she's single now. Could be making herself out to be fish bait. IJS.

  8. Stand true to who u r as a believer in Christ. Would she wear this outfit in the church to minister to the people of God without conviction? Then she should not have worn it on the devil's carpet. We do not have to dress-in to fit-in....

  9. The dress is fine. The top is made of illusion fabric and it's doing exactly what it's supposed to do - make everyone talk about her as if she's dressed inappropriately. To me there's no cause for condemnation here..take out the mote out of your own eye.

    2. And that's what people are doing..."talking about her as if she's dressed inappropriately. No need to talk about them in a negative light if Shirley intended to get that reaction. SO don't come here casting your stone of "condemnation".

    3. Who are you - telling people to get outta here? If one shares a different opinion it's just that - different. Who died and left you in charge???

    4. Look...I could care less you share your opinion. But lets not come across as that was all you did. You took a DIG telling folks to take the mote (which by the way you used OUTTA context, the verse says take the BEAM OUT of your eyes so you can see to take the MOTE OUTTA some one else's eyes) out of their eyes, charging them as condemning. Why? Because they don't agree with YOU?

I get it, you think her dress is fine. The reason you gave, her wanting people to talk about her as if she is dressed inappropriately is LUDICROUS.

AGAIN LIKE I SAID, if that was her intent, according to you at least, she got exactly what she wanted. No need for you then to charge people as bring condemning.

And for you to ask the question "how is this evil"?, I suggest you go back and read the quote. It talks about the "appearance of evil". There is a difference, evil and the appearance of evil.

    5. I get your point, and yes i misquoted the verse - but it was understood. I don't expect agreement since mine is a minority opinion on this post. Why are we fussing about her apparel? Besides directing traffic to this site, what good does it serve? How do you know (good, bad or otherwise) what she was thinking when she wore this dress? It doesn't matter. And I really meant to ask how is this the "appearance" of evil?
Why do you protest so loudly?
I think my comments are fair and reasonable.
But what really prompted me to respond - was "get outta here!" I find it rude and dismissive.

    6. Cut it OUT! Lil Lady...

Let me REMIND YOU, this is a BLOG. This is CYBERSPACE!

Ann posts her articles, people COMMENT, RESPOND and REPLY and every now and then DEBATE. They either quote the TRUTH from the Bible per the topic, or give their OPINIONS (just like you do). If you go back to all the responses before yours here, you will note the responses were civil and per the Topic. Then YOU came to chime in (protesting LOUDLY), calling folks here condemning and having a mote. These people are right saying about Ole Girl Shirley attire! You are wrong calling them CONDEMNING!

And the silliness, asking questions about what good does it serve, because folks are not communicating the way you think they should. You don't know the impact someone response here could have on folks who come here to read. The Bible says “His words will never go void”. And for you to ask "how do you know what she was thinking when she wore that dress? YOU were the ONLY ONE who insinuated why Shirley wore what she wore saying "to make everyone talk about her as if she is dressed inappropriately". What is wrong with YOU? I don’t think your comments are fair and reasonable. YOU are too close to your own light, and it’s causing you to go blind.

And about my signature “GET OUTTA HERE”, I use it as a "signature", when I’m affirming others, and to make a point of dismissal, my not agreeing with the comment made. Personally in my opinion, I think a lot of comments here need to be dismissed.

  12. For a Christian, the event never justifies the attire. A Christian woman should dress appropriately wherever she goes, which includes church, dinner, vacation, and an award show. This is just basic Christianity. The entire top half of her breasts are showing.

    1. Amen...Sir William Thomas will never understand. Shirley should take note to his reference "the sackcloth". The sackcloth was used to show reverence, to come before the presence of God with brokenness and humility. Shirley would look a thousand times better in a sackcloth than that see through boob revealing black sexy kitten dress ANY DAY!!!

    2. @Get outta here, I hope you aren't ogling PASTOR Caesar (show some respect for the title she's earned!). You referred to her dress as a kitten dress...what kind of thoughts are in YOUR mind.. Keep your prying eyes away from Pastor Caesar, and keep your Phariseeical comments to yourself. That goes for ALL of you clapping and flapping your lips at PASTOR Caesar.

    3. Sorry, I don't respect titles. PHARISEES and SADUCEES are titles, and Jesus said about them, they are of their father the devil.

And Look, I've been married probably as long as you have lived.
If Ole Girl Shirley DON'T want to be talked about, she shouldn't call herself by the titles PASTOR BISHOP MOTHER OF GOSPEL, singing and coonin about chitterlings and watermelon and pig feet and Hog maws and grits and cabbage and black eye peas, skipping angd jucking and to go to the worldly award show dressed in her tight revealing is unbecoming to the ties man gave her.

You better get her Ms Ann...

    4. @ Flapping and Clapping,

I am one of the "ALL" you refer to. Just so you know, it is our desire that NO ONE should be deceived that titles, glamour, social status = God's blessing upon one's life (Matthew 6).

We who believe in the LORD Jesus are called to deny ourselves DAILY, pick up our cross and follow him (Luke 9:23). There is no glitz in there. It is forsaking all for the sake of Christ (Matthew 19:29). Clearly Miss Caesar don't belong coz she needs to rub shoulders with the 1%ers as required by her contract with the recording company.

These "gospel" artists want us to believe that their possessions and status is because they serve God, but we know what the WORD of God says of those he considers blessed (Matthew 5). So we stand like watch men on the tower (Ezekiel 33:6-8) to warn those who think that they are Christians to consider the fruit (Matthew 7:16-20) of these masquerading individuals.

The WORD of God is for life, preservation, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding (Psalm 119) and it is by it that we are warned of the enemy's tricks (Psalm 19).

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

  13. First of all I am not surprised at all at her attire. She has been going borderline for a while now. She was on the Wendy Williams Show and that SheDevil was so disrespectful but all Shirley did was laugh and hit Wendy on the butt. Check it out on YouTube. She wanted to sue about U Name It. When she was at Glen Arden Baptist Churh her comments about Pastor Kim Burrell was inappropriate. She could have went to the Grammys and not look like an old hooker trying to catch a young man or any Man. Her attire isn't appropriate for a Christian Woman to be wearing . She could have wore something else. A long time ago. The Clark Sisters was on the Grammys and they look liked hookers at Madi Gras. The make up and the clothing attire was just outlandish. Bishop J.O.Patterson Sr. Made them come up to the pulpit during the COGIC Holy Convocation and apologise to the CHURCH. Then he openly rebuked them. There's difference between clean and unclean. It's Holiness or Hell. She is old enough to know better. She has sold her SOUL to the devil for Fame and Fortune.

  14. First off..She's not a pastor...A pastor would be a male...Not female...I'm not even going to refer to the scripture that is so well known to support what I'm saying. She is in direct rebellion against the Word of God. People have twisted the Word to make it say what they want it to say to support their agenda. And you know what...If they want to live a certain type of life then that's their choice...But when it come to the written Word of God...Either...

Except the whole Word...Or just leave it alone. But by no means try to change it.
