Does The "Will Of God" Includes Everything?

Reader, there are two clear and very different meanings for the term “It is the will of God ”in the Bible.  How easily these words fall from the lips of some Christians. But how difficult it is to pinpoint exactly what they mean. Few concepts in theology generate more confusion than the will of God.

Kirk Franklin is speaking out against the belief that it was "God's will" for six children to be killed in a school bus accident last week in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Gwenevere Cook, the mother of 24-year-old school bus driver Johnthony Walker who crashed into a telephone pole and a tree on Nov. 21, expressed her condolences to the families whose children died in the accident by saying it was God's will. In her statement, Cook said:

"My heart of love is going out for all that was in harm's way of God's will. Sending out mine and our condolences to every family that God touched yesterday in this horrible accident. And I am asking for compassion also for my son."
After Cook mentioned God's will in her public statement, Franklin responded on Twitter, saying: "Y'all pray for these little kids in this school bus fatality in Chattanooga. As a Christian in these rough times in the world, I feel it's important to speak out when God's heart is misrepresented in the society.

  1. Miss Ann,

Kirk should have several seats. Literally!!!

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

  2. Thank you Anonymous, ppl need to REALLY UNDERSTAND what the WILL of the Lord is before opening their mouth. Making an IGNORANT statement WILL ALWAYS cause shows no TRUE insight into the truth of the mind of Christ. Ppl CAN make some DUMD/UNLEARNED statements IF NOT moved by the Spirit Of, some of these DUMB prophesies. These families need to hear a TRUE "WORD" FROM THE LORD...they are in severe grief. Let us intercede on their behalf. In Christ Alone, RLR.

  3. This incident falls under the sovereignty of God will. Which mean that everything that happens is because it's allowed by God.

  4. I believe the term God "allows, or allowed" an event or tragedy is really being overused to explain away things that have nothing to do with God or his will.

  5. Ecclesiates chapter 7:16-17 says 16 verse: Be not righteous over much neither make thyself overwise why shouldest destroy thyself. 17 verse: Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish, why shouldest thou die before thy time? "
