More Americans Say That You Can Be Good Without God?

Image
Reader for the first time, a majority of Americans — 56 percent — say it is possible to be a good person without a religious belief. So says new Pew Research Center data drawn from two polls conducted among about 5,000 American adults in June and July. “God is not a prerequisite for good values and morality,” Greg Smith, Pew’s associate director of research, said in a post about the findings. ” … [T]he public’s increased rejection of the idea that belief in God is necessary for morality is due, in large part, to the spike in the share of Americans who are religious ‘nones.

Why Is Lifeway Christian Bookstore Refusing To Carry Six-Time GRAMMY Winner Amy Grant's New Christmas Album?????

Reader the same group whose entire denomination came about to support slavery and use Bible verses to justify it, won't sell this woman's Christmas album. In case you get in the holiday mood soon, I must tell you Amy Grant's new Christmas album, Tennessee Christmas you won't find it at Lifeway Christian Bookstore.....although the trailblazer that she is, her album has been rumored banned because of Amy Grant's widespread acceptance and love for her LGBT fan base.

LifeWay Christian Stores is not carrying six-Time GRAMMY® winner Amy Grant‘s new Christmas album, Tennessee Christmas, due to its songs not including enough faith-based content, MusicRow has confirmed. This is Grant’s first all-new Christmas album in nearly 20 years and was released last Friday, Oct. 21. A collection of 13 new recordings, including the title track, Tennessee Christmas offers a blend of heartfelt originals and Grant’s own spin on popular Yuletide classics. Recorded in her home studio in Nashville, Grant collaborated with producers Mac McAnally (Jimmy Buffett, Martina McBride), Marshall Altman (Marc Broussard, Frankie Ballard) and Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band).

With over six million Christmas records sold, all of Grant’s prior holiday projects have been honored with RIAA platinum or gold certification. MusicRow confirmed the new release was not being carried by LifeWay Christian Stores; however, a spokesman for the company would not elaborate on specifics regarding the decision. No statement from Grant’s label, Capitol Christian Music Group, has been received.

LifeWay Says ‘No Thanks’ To Amy Grant’s New Christmas Album

  1. This is what confuses me: If an artist is country, but sings something that sounds "Christian", they embrace them (like southern gospel). But if a Christian artist goes country, then all the Christian people have to reject them. How ludicrous is this?

    1. Shouldn't be that confusing. Unsaved folks don't know any better. Saved folks supposed to know better and do better. GET OUTTA HERE!!!

    2. Anonymous this is censorship, rather you know it or not....censorship in any form shouldn't be tolerated. Didn't they also pull an author's titles because of her LGBT views? Just carry the product and let people decide for themselves.IJS!

    3. Ann,having been involved in several projects for Lifeway, I can tell you that there are alot of changes within the organization. This is not the first thing they have done to "make room" for other interests...even within the Suit Seats. Just another casualty of the thought process in power struggle.

    4. This is not censorship. They are business owners and have the right to shelve whatever product they desire.

    5. It's censorship! This shouldn't come as a surprise considering the state of the Southern Baptist Church. They have lost touch with the Savior they claim to worship. Jesus said to Love and they Hate. He says only the sinless may judge and they start throwing stones. The Church has lost it's way.

    6. Well. let's see her take it to court claiming censorship. She won't stand a chance. Lifeway said her album does not include enough faith based content. They ought to hate the "false way". Psalms 119:104 "Through your precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way." And you as a COGIC Bishop should know that. If you have some light you can expose involving your projects with LifeWay, let us know. But don't come here to tell folk "they have lost touch with the Savior", like folks are just supposed to take your word. GET OUTTA HERE!

  2. Grew up listening to Amy Grant, and she still is in heavy rotation in my Christmas mix!

  3. I'm really not sure the question, when the article states they removed Amy's album because its songs do not include enough faith based content. I'm quite sure her embracing the LGBT didn't help as well. Amy has had some spiritual struggles which lead many to question her Christianity. When you listen to AMY, YOU get a feel she follows more her personal philosophy than the word of God. She divorced her husband Gary Chapman of 16 years, and dated country singer Vince Gills before her divorce was finalized. I am not a proponent of CCM (Contemporary christian Music). That genre is just as bad as black gospel music if you ask me...GET OUTTA HERE...

    4. Anonymous, You had a right to answer. It'a a post question; that's what it's there for. I happen to agree with your opinion. What you said about Amy Grant is true. I've read a lot of her interviews. With her former marriage and relationship with Vince Gill prior to her marriage to him, it feels like she was justifying her inappropriate behavior. Two wrong never make a right, even though there were some problems in his. ( I personally think Gary Chapman is still not healed from that. I think he still needs deliverance. I've never heard her publicly repent (which I feel, still in 2016, you should if you are a public figure who messed up like that). I still like a lot of her music, but I've lost some respect for her. Unlike Sandi Patti. I can respect her because she repented and admitted she messed up. It doesn't take away from her music, but it is what is it is. My opinion. It you don't like it, you just don't.

    5. Thank you Ms. Moffatt..you are spot on. From what I read about Amy, she was very heartless when going through with her husband. It's said she told the man she married, the father of her children, he was "the biggest mistake she'd ever made". That Vince Gill dude she was messing around with eventually ended up divorcing his wife. I think the the same way with you about Sandi Patty. Amy is in a backslidden state, if she.indeed was ever a Christian. A lot of these CHRISTIAN Musicians are in it for the $$$$.

BTW...I like your opinion...GET OUTTA HERE!!!

  4. Miss Ann

The title “Why is Lifeway Christian Bookstore refusing to carry six-time GRAMMY winner Amy Grant’s…..” is useless. Why do we have to drop accolades for one to have relevance and a place in this world? Oh! I get it… people need these titles to demonstrate that they are so accomplished, they should be given a pass regardless of the mess they exhibit in their personal lives. SMH

    2. Miss Ann,

Just so you know, I have nothing against you. If you took the time to understand Proverbs 22, you would know that I have no support nor care for any of the candidates running for presidency.

It is important for us believers to separate what is flesh and what is spirit (Galatians 6:8). If you are going to clap back that hard, you need to clap back with the WORD! Ok!

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want…

    3. Oh Oh...
Personally "the Lord is my Shepherd", I didn't read your comment the way Ms Ann did as insulting her blog title when you used the word useless. I tied your use of the word "useless" more to the rest of your comment and the Scripture passage you quoted. I guess this whole TRUMP thing has sent a lot of people into a tizzy. Chillax, Ms. Ann.
