More Americans Say That You Can Be Good Without God?

Image
Reader for the first time, a majority of Americans — 56 percent — say it is possible to be a good person without a religious belief. So says new Pew Research Center data drawn from two polls conducted among about 5,000 American adults in June and July. “God is not a prerequisite for good values and morality,” Greg Smith, Pew’s associate director of research, said in a post about the findings. ” … [T]he public’s increased rejection of the idea that belief in God is necessary for morality is due, in large part, to the spike in the share of Americans who are religious ‘nones.

Not In My House: Pastor Faith Green Had To Rebuked Racist Donald Trump For Not Following Protocol!!!

Reader on Wednesday afternoon racist Donald Trump did a last minute attempt to win over African-American voters didn't go well when the pastor of  the historically black church cut him off mid-stump speech, reminding him that he had not been invited there to deliver a political speech.

“Hillary Clinton failed on the economy, just like she has failed on foreign policy. Everything she touched didn’t work out, nothing,” Trump told 50 or so people inside Bethel United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Faith Green-Timmons, an African-American pastor in this predominantly Democratic city, didn't want to hear it and stepped in to stop him. “Mr. Trump, I invited you here to thank us for what we’ve done in Flint,” Green-Timmons said as she approached Trump. “Not to give a political speech.”

  1. Awkward!

But even then they shouldn't have invited him at all. Once he's got the mic ain't no telling what's coming out of his mouth.

    Rev. Faith lacks discernment.

    1. Anonymous why you say that the pastor lacks discernment? She invited him there to talk about the water crisis. She wasn't giving him a political platform.

    2. Dear Miss Ann, I wasn't disrespectful. You and I really know Trump is not the kind to stick to the agenda. He says what he wants to say. Look at the trail of people he has offended. And you expect him to say what you want him to say because he was invited for SPECIFICALLY the water crisis. He knows about free flow... And he'll run with it - all the way.

    3. Oh no Anonymous I don't think you were being disrespectful.

  3. This pastor is just looking for attention... If you invited him to speak, by all means, allow him to speak... Anonymous is correct, she lacked discernment... Would she disrespectfully cut off Hillary Clinton the same way she did Trump?

    1. Come on Rev. the bigot was out of order. If the pastor had asked him before hand not to discuss politics and he did it any way. Then she had all the rights to call him on it. This don't have anything to do with Hillary.

    2. Your absolutely correct AB.
I read today where he had a negative comment about her for shuting him down.
      He's a pure loathsome, awful individual. I wouldn't invite him to a pig farm/

  4. I DO NOT support Donald J. Trump. With that said...

Why did Pastor Green-Timmons invite Trump to the church in the first place? A person would have to be seriously thick-headed to think that he would not take advantage to talk politics. I mean, he is in the middle of a Presidential Campaign.

If common sense was so common, everyone would have it, don't you think???

    1. Mike.....There is no such thing as 'common sense'. What makes a lot of sense to you may not make any sense at all to the person(s) you are talking to.
