Jimmy Swaggart: "Police should "shoot and shoot to kill."???
Reader, this is so sad, I never thought I would hear this coming from the lips of a MOG. I have always thought that Jimmy Swaggart in my opinion, was one of the most knowledgeable Bible teachers there was, I so embraced for years his teaching. But here Jimmy is out of his mind!!! but in my opinion, he's saying what many of the white preachers say and feel and this is why so many white pastors are not standing up for righteousness and against bigotry . That's why we must be outraged not to be destructive but find constructive ways to change this whole system. What Jimmy Swaggart and others like him said, does not fit with the revealed Word of God. It is being promoted that it is justifiable to sit back and say or do nothing as governments commit genocide, infanticide and otherwise maim and kill their citizens at will. Adolph Hitler's favorite Bible verse was Romans 13:1-7. He used these verses to justify everything from war to the murder of millions of Jews. So, Swaggart, if one breaks the law, such as Speeding or jaywalking, should the orders be "Shoot to kill"? Someone posted the following to Facebook:
Ordain means order, right? God DOES NOT ordain murder of innocent people. God DOES NOT ordain the genocide of ethnic minorities. God DOES NOT ordain murdering unborn babies. God DOES NOT ordain the torturing and cold-blooded homicide of His people. God DOES NOT ordain the sponsoring of terror. God DOES NOT ordain military in raping innocent women and killing young children. God DOES NOT ordain the systematic presentation of deceit and promotion of lies as the truth. Yes, God does ALLOW all of the things mentioned above, but He does not ordain them. Once the door is opened to believe all governments are put in power (Ordained) by God, the waterfall of deceit starts trickling down. What if the government tells you that you must go kill your neighbor? If we are to obey the government, then we end up disobeying God's Word. Those who advocate the blind obedience to man's laws and governmental dictates must not have read Acts when Peter tells the Sanhedrin "It is better to obey God than man."Jimmy Swaggart ought to be ashamed of himself using hate like this. With his church being in Baton Rouge he should be a pillar for healing in that city, as opposed to adding more friction to the fire.
