Reader Sunday October 8, 2017, Dr. E. Dewey Smith senior pastor of the House of Hope Atlanta Ga, allowed his friend and church family Comedian Rickey Smiley to grace his pulpit with an awesome testimony....plus a big plug for his new book.

Check it out below:

Is It Time To Boycott White and Mega Churches?

Reader, this the type of pastor we need in our communities. Question to all the African Americans who are pastored by whites. Where does your pastor stand on racial injustice? Apostel Brian Keith Williams shared  "UNFILTERED TALK ON BLACK LIVES with the Question‬: "Is it TIME TO BOYCOTT MOST CHURCHES???? Check out what he had to say below. I approve this message:

" I love the Church. I'm both a son of it and some say a father in the 2016 Church. We are the Salt, the Light. At least, we once were!!!! ‪#‎OhGodReviveThyWork‬ in the Midst of the years." (Hab.3:2). Truthfully, Respectfully, NEARLY 100% of our ‪#‎WhiteBrethren‬, ALWAYS get SOOOO Spiritual when it comes to ‪#‎Racism‬ and ‪#‎InjusticeAgainstBlacks‬, but, here's the Bottom Line. One precious white sister, said, y'day, "I've been crying all day thinking of how God gave His son and this man, died perhaps, without knowing him." I answered, "I appreciate your sincere tears. I've been ‪#‎CryingToo‬. Thinking about how, Alton's Sterling's 15 year old SON, had to see his FATHER sacrificed, and he won't be getting up in THREE DAYS. He is gone forever." Of course, salvation is most important, but, WE ARE TALKING ABOUT BEING BRUTALIZED ON EARTH. We have Black Children, OK!!! ‪#‎WhereIsTheLove‬????" Did she respond? Of course not!!!! You see, her words sounded spiritual, but, were completely insensitive. Therefore, I dismiss her as a TYPICAL CONSERVATIVE white CHRISTIAN. They mean well, but lack the heart, the courage and WONT RISK "choosing affliction with the Black people of God, over the pleasures of white privilege for a season." ‪#‎Point‬: Most, ‪#‎bourgeois‬ Blacks are SOLD OUT to the system, and many CHURCH Whites REALLY DON'T CARE and see it through the eyes of ‪#‎Prejudice‬ or ‪#‎Predisposition‬, that they still hold, THOUGH they speak with tongues. They can't seem to interpret the Black man's tongues, crying for ‪#‎Justice‬! However, they will often, gladly RECEIVE our Tithe, our Servitude, our Attendance, just NO ATTEMPT to go beyond, walking out the Message. I DECREE IN JESUS NAME, on the crying blood of our people, pimping Days are Over to Black Pastor's' and Massa' days to White Pastor's. Either they "Embrace the Cause" or WE WILL STAMPEDE WITH OUR FEET out the Door, or Vote with our WALLETS AND POCKETBOOKS!!! ‪#‎ItsThatSimple‬ If this continues, I predict, there will be a ‪#‎MassExodus‬ from two types of Churches. Churches filled with Blacks, Pastor'd by Whites. Secondly, predominantly Black churches, Pastor'd by BENTLEY DRIVING, (ain't nothing wrong with a Bentley, K, IJS), ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATING, House Negroes, with a ‪#‎PlantationMentality‬! I said it!" ‪

  2. It's BEEN TIME to leave theses mega-churches!!!

When most of the church budget goes to paying the church staff & advertising
    ITS TIME.

When your pastor has a private jet, vacation homes and a brand new Bentley, and he is talking about how HE IS BEING Persecuted
    ITS TIME.

When church leaders are bragging about spending time at the White House, with presidential candidates, and other celebrity's while people are dying in the streets across their from their multimillion dollar facility
    ITS TIME.

Most (not all) of these Mega churches need to start displaying more servanthood to the people THEY CLAIM TO WANT TO SERVE, instead of trying to promote there BUSINESSES so they can expand their CHURCH BRAND.

  3. The reason blacks go to white churches is that they are tired of the BS and ignorance that happens all to often in the black church. Even though white churches have their problems but I have noticed that Negroes actually behave better in a white church. Sad but true.

    3. I agree with you anonymous. Blacks are leaving for white Churches because they are not being fed the Word in these black Churches. They are tired of going to sit soak and sour. At least in the white Churches, they teach from the Bible and encourages personal bible study. I'm speaking generally, not in all cases.

    1. Your sarcasm is way off point! Black churches are not expounding the Word of God and you know it. Especially the mega church preachers who rearly ever open up a Bible when they preach. If we want to bring Christians together, Blacks and Whites, we gotta make sure we are on the same page when it comes to belief.

"...we gotta make sure we are on the same page when it comes to belief"

Although I'm sure you were referring to Biblical truth, I applied it to another thought.

Yes! Let's make sure we are all in agreement that racism (which is what typically divides us) is a worldly matter that is festering in the church. Let's make sure we all believe the truth about the matter.

White so-called Christians need to have an intra-racial conversation and deal with their White mess. Many are afflicted with a sick psychosis that has been rooted in unreasonable fear & hatred due to the system of White Supremacy and racism for centuries. They know this, and don't want to do the work of overcoming it. Just like anyone in the wrong, who wants to admit they have a problem? Why should they when many people of color are always forgiving them without confronting them?

Most White people cannot name 5 incidents in their life time when they've been oppressed by any other group, and they typically can't justify why they feel superior, fear, and discriminatory towards everyone else.

As Black people we've done our part, there will be no unity until they allow God to truly transform their minds and repent. We're always ready to forgive ;)

  6. Anonymous how do you know this? Have you visit every Black Church? Or better yet have you visit every white church? Unless you can answer yes there' s no way you can may a statement like that.

  7. Oh cone on Ann...I said generally speakimg...I've heard lots of black folks and myself included saying a lot of black Churches do not bring the word. And also like the other anonymous said the foolishness that goes on in a lot of black Churches is unreal.

    1. I actually agree with Anonymous a bit. Many White churches tend to spend more time on the sermon than the theatrics. But I think that is more of a cultural difference because European culture is not outwardly expressive, it's reserved. Also, the white church historically, could be just a church. Because the Black church has served so many purposes to our community, a lot of unnecessary things have occupied the services.

      BUT

"If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?" - 1 John 4:20

This passage is referring to the brothers in Christ, not relatives. So if a church of unapologetic racists are meeting, then they are liars. They can say all of Bible verses they want, it doesn't mean that they are of God and love God. After all, many White slave holders would preach to their slaves, then rape their slaves (men, women, and children).

Many Black people who try to detox from Black church, flee to the White churches. After a about 8 months, they flee again due to subtle racism.

  8. One thing about living in the middle of modern day Corinth, is that there are White people are open to having real conversations about race. I've been fortunate to meet White Christians who can ADMIT that their people have major issues, and that they themselves are battling the spiritual internal war of dealing with their inherited ideals towards everyone who isn't White.

The pastor was right in may instances. Many White Christians don't touch issues of racial injustice. To do so, they'd have to deal with their fears, and blame, and shame. It's easy to get spiritual without correlating that to natural things; such as the history of the inhumane treatment of people based on the color of their skin without reason or justification, from the hands and hearts of White people.

With race at the forefront, Black people are fed up with White apathy to the problems believers of color face. This ain't new though. This is why Black churches were formed. So yes, you shouldn't have at a mega church in the first place. And from a logical standpoint, why would you as a Black person attend an all White-Church? This is still planet earth. If you'd like to do Black church detox, go to a multi-cultural church where everyone is actually welcome.

If you're at one of these churches, you should definitely gain insight from leadership with where they stand. You may be surprised. Some are naive, but that is not acceptable in 2016. Some are just racist, and you shouldn't give them your money.

Low-key, I think this pastor was hyped up over something else in the church. The issue of racism ain't new, so why is mad all of a sudden?

  9. I’m sorry…but to tell a selective group of Christians to acknowledge their sins and to repent of these sins against us, and furthermore to suggest boycotting “white” / mega churches is totally out of line with the Bible. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Sorry…But repentance is the responsibility of each individual Christian (red, yellow, black and white), so that individuals can grow in their relationship with the Savior. The Bible warns us against fault finding in Jude 1:16, and we are never encouraged in our Christian walk, to tell others how they should admit their wrong against us. The Bible on the other hand, tells us how that we should bless them that curse us, and pray for them which despitefully use us. All throughout Christianity is the thread we should be concerned about the wrong we’ve committed against other. No group of people (black, white, Indians, etc.) suffered no more than Christ suffered. And Christ didn’t have to leave His earthly glory to take on human flesh to do so. So who are we to demand anyone admit their wrong done against us. The Scriptures instruct us as to our approach to a sinning brother in Matthew 18. Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. This matter of sin is personal. God calls each of us to repent. He calls each of us to forgive. And the word “repentance” simply means “change of mind”. We are all called to change our minds about who God is, and change our minds about who we are. When we used to see ourselves as possessing some capability to glorify God on our own, we now see that when God gave us His Son, we were capable of NOTHING, and that God was capable of doing it ALL.
