What In The World Do Chance The Rapper And Praise & Worship Leader Byron Cage Have In Common?

Reader, is it just me or is gospel/Christian music becoming more represented in pop culture? In my opinion, Byron Cage was a little flat in his delivery, but overall good song.
“When the praises go up, the blessings come down.” "He has ordered my steps, gave me a sword with a crest & gave Donnie a trumpet 'case I get shortness of breath." "I know the difference between blessings and worldly possessions."
Chance the Rapper performed his highly anticipated new single, "Blessing," on The Tonight Show last night, and it actually sounds a lot like a worship song. On Twitter, the hip-hop star has been open about his faith and his own spiritual journey, and his new song—which features a verse from gospel star Byron Cage and a choir—has unabashedly Christian lyrics throughout. His new mixtape drops on May 13.

  1. So...if they don't do these kinds of songs, what are some other choices? Songs like the Mighty Cloud of Joy? Kierra Sheard? Clark Sisters? James Cleveland or Andre? Or maybe Kirk or Smallwood? LACREA is a good example, right? What and who are good examples should we pattern for music in the church?

    1. "I know the difference between blessings and worldly possessions."

    2. Oooh...anonymous....good one...

  2. It's all about money and selling God out. So sickening... Chance can get up there and rap and say a little about the Lord and church folks be like, "well child at least he's trying, or hey you don't know what the Lord doing to him he might just be saved." SMH. Yea, and at the same time he got Parental Advisory on the very front of the CD with Byron Cage compromising!!!! INSANITY GONE WILD!!
