Jesus Take The Wheel Cee Lo Green Is Now A Christian Singer?

Reader word on the street is The Christian Post is out of touch when it comes to black culture. For some unknown reasons they are claiming that Cee Lo Green is a Christian artist....which have some people baffled and confused. This is part of the problem of modern Christianity. No wonder the world thinks Christians are hypocrites! We will label anyone and everyone as a Christ follower regardless of the fruit of their lives. Did I miss something? I never thought of him as a Christian performer.I'm confused. The man who had a song called F- you....When has he become a Christian singer?

  1. He's just as much Christian as Kirk Franklin...

    1. No. No theological slant. Truth is no one can be a Christian unless they put their faith in The LORD Jesus Christ, who as God who died to save them from their sins. Not by any work so that we could boast. And because Christ died for us, we can now live for Him. Kirk and Cee Lo have a professed faith. Their lives mirror each other in the ministry of their music. Ce Lo does it from a secular perspective, mixing in a little "gospel" here and there. Kirk does it from a "spiritual" perspective, mixing a lot of "world and carnality", more here than there. Their ministry is practically the same. They produce pretty much the same kind of fruit, more likely no fruit at all. They both appeal to their audience to get them caught up using the name of Jesus, gaining fame and fortune along the way. Kirk and Cee Lo, their Christianity is about the same.

  3. You can talk the talk, but not WALK the talk. The word Christian has been thrown around rather loosely. A Christian is simply a Follower of Christ. If you are a Christian, your Bible tells you exactly how you should represent Christ. Just because you sing a song/hymn that has the word God or Jesus in it does not qualify you to call yourself a Christian because it is about your walk with Christ - not the songs that you sing, the choir that you lead, or the pulpit that you stand in You can go to a building (God’s House, a place of Worship) 52 Sundays out of the year, and that makes you no more a Christian than standing in your garage seven days a week makes you a Mercedes Benz.

The Bible says you cannot straddle the fence. When you become a Follower of Christ, you put off the things of the world, and put on the things of Christ. It cannot be both ways. That is not my opinion, my thought, my idea, or my theory. That is what the Bible says.

“Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God. He is your life. When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you’ll show up, too—the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity, like Christ. And that means killing off everything connected with that way of death: sexual promiscuity, impurity, lust, doing whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it, and grabbing whatever attracts your fancy. That’s a life shaped by things and feelings instead of by God. It’s because of this kind of thing that God is about to explode in anger. It wasn’t long ago that you were doing all that stuff and not knowing any better. But you know better now, so make sure it’s all gone for good: bad temper, irritability, meanness, profanity, dirty talk.” Colossians 3:3-10 (MSG)
“Here’s how we can be sure that we know God in the right way: Keep his commandments. If someone claims, “I know him well!” but doesn’t keep his commandments, he’s obviously a liar. His life doesn’t match his words. But the one who keeps God’s word is the person in whom we see God’s mature love. This is the only way to be sure we’re in God. Anyone who claims to be intimate with God ought to live the same kind of life Jesus lived.” I John 2:2-6 (MSG)

Whatever Ce Lo Green is singing about has nothing to do with Black Culture; it has nothing to do with the songs that he sings, labeled as Christian music. It has everything to do with where his heart is with Christ, and whether he is representing the actions of Christ in everything that he does. The same goes for Kirk Franklin. They are the ones that have to answer the question, “Is My Living in Vain?”

  4. He came to our Little city a few years back for a community concert (secular), and was paid his money in advance, I'm told he came out and messed up a couple of songs then went back stage, and never came back out. Whereas he was paid the amount of money that was settled upon, I guess the crowd wasn't what he was use to and we weren't worthy for him to complete the concert. I guess he felt we were a bunch of "country bumpkins" and he could do whatever he wanted, SURPRISE he was SUED by the city. I don't know his relationship with God at this point, it's not for me to say, but I would hope he has MORE INTEGRITY than he has proven in the past.
