Gospel Singer Israel Houghton; Who Just Ended A 20 Year Marriage Is Allegedly Dating Adrienne Bailon!

So Good morning Reader.  Popular Gospel artist Israel Houghton, who recently divorced his wife of 20 years, is back in the news, again. And is currently in a romantic relationship with singer and TV host, Adrienne Bailon, Rob Kardashian's ex-girlfriend. The couple has been spotted together in many photos, most recently on a holiday in Mexico.  Isn't it very wicked to divorce a wife of 20yrs and go 'start afresh' with a trophy babe?

Don't mean to judge, I just feel it's unfair on someone you ever professed love to, knowing a woman finds it more difficult to begin again.  It's only a few weeks since the divorce announcement surely it's a bit too soon for this public display given his profile in the Christian gospel world. I'm a big fan of his but a bit disappointed with this. Just seems insensitive to his wife and family. Guess there's always more to the story.

According to TMZ

Adrienne Bailon has a new boyfriend, who happens to be a Grammy-winning gospel singer, and she showed him off on a Mexican holiday. The boyfriend Israel Houghton is a famous Christian singer who's got 6 gospel Grammys. Adrienne appeared in the 2013 flick Israel produced called, "I'm in Love with a Church Girl."  Israel just recently became officially available, although he's been seeing Adrienne for a while. He divorced his wife of 20 years earlier this year."

Question:  Are Christian leaders becoming weaker the more they are exposed? Are Christian leaders holding up the standard or reforming more than causing others to desire transformation in living right?  Or is it something we dust under the rug and say "We all make mistakes"?  This is so critical for the believers. Is it making us look contradicting?" If you write music, or sing music is what you write or sing holding any Validity ?! Or is the whole body of Christ hypocritical??

but its end is the way of death." Proverbs 14:12 My heart hurts for you. My heart hurts for the Body of Christ.

    1. Anonymous i'm sorry but that is Israel Houghton in the picture, there is no way in the world TMZ would have made a mistake like.

    2. I understand your point of view Miss Ann. If I'm incorrect and it is indeed Israel there would be no damage done in giving him the benefit of the doubt. I'm not saying that he is above any of it....I'm just not convinced by the currently available photos.

    3. TMZ must be wrong then if it's not Israel.

    4. Wow. Must be.. I show don't remember him being that big!! haha.. I sorry I gotta throw some kinda humor in this mess.

    5. Israel has issued another lengthy statement confirming that is indeed him. While the post is accurate, I will continue in my process of allowing someone the benefit of the doubt until the truth is confirmed. Because as a Christian, if I were in trouble or accused of something I would want other Christians to give me the benefit of the doubt. I would want other Christians to wait to hear from me, eventually.

TMZ while often accurate is never a source I will use to assess matters related to Christianity or Christians. That's just me though....lol.

Because the man himself, Israel has spoken I will go with his confirmation.

    7. Yes it is a lengthy one and I wonder how long it will stay up. Sadly, some on the internet are also questioning the timeline he provided in terms of when they met. They have provided "receipts" as they call them in relation to when a particular movie began filming- a movie on which he served as executive producer.

The way this has played out is sad. I don't know the time line for any of what they've done...but it is sad watching it play out before the world.

  5. His PR people were so "DIPLOMATIC" when addressing his divorce. I wonder the approach they would use to now discuss his new found love?

  6. That does not look like Israel. The guy in the hat, yes. On the beach in the water, no! Israel is much shorter than that and that gentleman looks much older. I will await confirmation from his camp until passing judgement. TMZ just got it wrong about the OJ knife and its not like they really know gospel artists.

  8. They're talking about Israel Houghton and his new piece onTMZ. So embarrassing. All his business is out. The bible says do nothing that ministry be blamed. These so called gospel singers. Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ. What good news are they portraying. It is sickening.

  9. David, Solomon,Rahab, Noah, the woman caught in adultery, etc. wouldn't have a chance with y'all if they lived today!! Lord Jesus!!!

    1. We now have a better example as in Jesus Christ. When Christians study theief bible it's actually difficult to justify blatant sin.

  10. Whilst I love Israel Houghton I must speak the truth as a supporter and fellow brother in Christ. In the world's eyes you're divorced from your ex wife but in God's eyes your still bound to her until she is deceased. Seeing someone else at this time is committing adultery. And this is not my opinion or idea, it's all in God's word. As long as your ex wife is alive, in God's eyes you don't have the right to date or re marry. Blessings to you you.

    1. Wanda..you are so on point...lots of folks seem not to have a clue God's design for marriage...one man one woman for life. Many take the cavalier attitude that if it does not work, divorce and find another. On the beginning it was not so saith the LORD...great comment...

    2. This is that good ol' fashion Word that I grew up on. Old school Word that's just straight Bible. Wanda, you are sooo correct. Folks can't handle this type of word today but it still stands and will forevermore. And to the point that was made about David, Solomon, and the others in the Bible. I definitely understand your point. However we are in the last church age, and people nowadays who profess Christ have to take a stand and project themselves as the "true" man or woman of God they say they are. As I've said before, being a musician and seeing the foolishness these suppose to be "gospel artist" do, is ridiculous. It just keeps getting worse and worse and worse. So, where's the standard? That's just it, it's hard to find it now within the church. The world sees foolishness like this and just start laughing. Do we as Christians make mistakes? Absolutely, but do we show our repentance before the world and for them to see? The answer should be yes. I know of musicians right now that play for a world renowned, well.. preacher that's still to this day doing sexual foolishness behind closed doors. He got caught, did a so-called apology which wasn't one, but years later, back at it. And noooooobody says a word. Why? They're intimidated and this is witchcraft. There has to be a standard today for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  11. I wonder what would happen if ministry leaders, including ministry leaders, we're required to sign morality clauses. Corporations often require these clauses....

It's a shame that we can'tcan't expect church leadership to adhere to the Bible. I get it, people stumble, fall, etc. But if you know in your heart you struggle with fornication, adultery, homosexuality, thievery why not step down? Stepping down seems the right thing to do in such situations. Sit in the pew, be renewed, worship but do not continue in leadership roles.

I'm not saying they should be instituted by churches but I bet morality clauses would put an end to so much. I could be wrong though....

    1. Anonymous, you hit it right on the head. Nobody will step down. That person(preacher/bishop/musician) is always protected. The first thing that happens is they'll thrown in the "don't judge" card. They'll look at the accusers..(hint, hint) and say they're out of order and look directly in YOUR face and say, "You ain't never did nothing wrong?" And I love this one, "We've all sin and come short of the glory of God." smh. Foolishness. It's a continuous cycle. There are folks right now that's in choirs I know of that the leadership are terrified to sit that person down knowing they are in absolute sin. WHY won't they sit them down? They'll say, "Child they show can saaaang." And also the protectors will say, "The Lord is still working on em' child." Stupid!! It's a never ever ending cycle. Again, that's where leadership has to have enough guts to stand on the word, but when you have well known TV preachers allowing mess to go on from the back of the church to the front, it's never ending tragedy. The Lord will judge ofcourse.

    2. One more thing. The number one object that is the driving force as to why individuals are protect...... MONEY. Folks have to keep gettin' paid.

  12. Divorce is permissible in the circumstance of adultry, how can we know whether or not this was the case?

  13. This brings shame to the Gospel. Israel allowed to be led by his carnal desires. He says that he repented from committing adultery with some other woman, not Adrienne, but I wonder if lust got the best of him even after repenting. I think further down he will miss his life with Christ and miss what he once had. Many regrets.
