Is Belief In The Trinity Necessary For Salvation?

Reader "Is Belief In The Trinity Necessary For Salvation?"  I will answer that with "No." One does not have to beleive in the Trinity to be saved.  But, a healthy realization of the Trinity is crucial for the kind of Christian life we lead as believers and for the kind of church-life we experience. Also, to me if you don’t believe in the Trinity, then you don’t understand who God is. You may say the word “God” but you don’t understand His nature. Second, you couldn’t possibly understand who Christ is—that He is God in human flesh. The Incarnation of Christ is an essential component of the biblical gospel, as John 1:1-14 and many other biblical passages make clear. To deny the Trinity is to deny the Incarnation. And to deny the Incarnation is to wrongly understand the true gospel.

In these last and evil days, there are many who will be deceived, folks need to study the word for themselves so that they will/can not be deceived in the end. I hate it when people say the Trinity is false doctrine.  I suggest folks get away from the electronic Bible (distraction) and get themselves a (better retention) paper Bible and read, read, read.  The young man in the video is Marcus Roger, a very popular guy on Facebook who releases inspirational motivational religious videos. They are high energy and very popular (especially among women). His foundational beliefs just came to light as of last week when he released a statement and video denouncing the Trinity as a false doctrine (both getting a combined 7K likes). He currently has just under 40K followers on his page. This is the same teaching that many in the Christian community came for Bishop Jakes and Bishop Noel Jones over.

According to Marcus, the people who believe in the trinity put limits on God, but God's power is limitless. They don't believe three beings could exist in one. Even though the word clearly says all throughout the bible they're one, but since their minds can not figure God out they put limits on Him.

  1. The doctrine of the Trinity is not necessary for being saved. You can br saved and not br concerned with thr dictrine. It may be a tenet of christianity but it is not necessary for a relationship with Jesus.

    1. Ms Ann, I choose yo beleive that they back away because they know that its not worth arguing about. The doctrine was developed by men in an attempt to define God and Jesus. Again, it is not required to be saved. See some background info here. Https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity

    2. Dc Joe I agree with you that the doctrine of the Trinity is not necessary for one to be saved....But why do you think Bishop Jake's and Bishop Noel Jones back away from their position on the Trinity and oneness, because they had been pressured, to do so?

  2. The Trinity helps with an understandig of who God is and His different essences so to speak. To say the trinity is false is to say the Holy Spirit and Jesus spiritually are not part of the One and Only God. There is a scripture in the Bible where Jesus states that He and the Father are one.

    1. What this young man is preaching is Modalism, which is a heresy that denies the Trinity of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Modalism teaches that God is one single person who in different times throughout history has manifested Himself in 3 modes or forms.

I've seen this guys post come across my timeline a couple of times. I will agree that many of his followers are crazy smitten women, who are drooling over his looks, instead of listening to what he is saying.

    3. The Bible declares that the natural man do not understand the things of the Spirit. The trinity is the natural man's inability to comprehend spiritual or heavenly things. This sensual doctrine of devils was established in the church by the Roman church. We have been deceived by the serpent to accept this as foundation doctrine. The church was not established in Rome, it began at Jerusalem. The church of the living God is built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets not a bunch of idiots gathered at the Nicaea council arguing over whether Jesus was made or begotten. Many in the body of Christ still do not understand the heavenly meaning of these two words. People who accept the trinitarian doctrine have cleary denounced the testimony of God. The God of the universe is not subject to any laws in the universe. We need to understand the concept of God from a heavenly standpoint, not by our earthly experience. Jesus said in John 8:24, I am from above but you are from beneath. He told Nicodemus that if I teach you earthly things and you don't understand it, how are you going to understand heavenly things. This why were have erred in the doctrine of the trinity. God is ONE omnipresent Spirit which fills heaven and earth. Omnipresence is not an earthly concept, so it makes it hard for us to understand God. He is Father but operates in earth as Son. Read carefully John chapters 14-16 with understanding. The time has come for the demonic stronghold of this doctrine of devils to come down. God is One, He is not three persons. Satan knows it but he has twisted this great mystery because we don't take time to read and meditate on God's word. God's word are for the diligent seekers. I can help anybody to understand this great mystery of God and of the Father and of Christ (Colossians 2:2). It is not that complicated. It is the devil's job to bring complexity to the word of God. He has been doing it from the Garden of Eden.

  3. If His Word TELLS you something is a certain way and you refuse, then how can you follow that doctrine? If you pick and choose what you like ,then you are not a true follower of that belief system. 1 John 5:7 There are 3 that bear record on heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost;and these 3 are 1.

  4. Hey, I was glad to come upon this. I grew up oneness and I never truly understood trinity doctrine. My dad thinks that to believe in the Trinity is to believe in three gods but it is good to know that it isn't the case. I would like to learn more so I'm doing some research into this. Thanks again and God bless.

  5. You can further read the first three chapters of Genesis, which alludes to the Trinity. Even if females think he is a good catch, Marcus is very mistaken on his views on the Trinity. When we speak of the Trinity, we believe God is three persons in a perfect triad. I viewed several of his videos and get the impression he is an angry person. He also does gospel rap videos on his YouTube channel. Modalism is an old hersesy that goes back to the early church. I strongly urge us as a people to study and understand church history to understand the issue of Modalism and why it is unscriptual. Futhermore, The Kingdom of the Cults by Walter Martin is a good resource.

  6. After watching a documentary and to hear someone explain the Trinity to a non-believer was perfect. We all know what water is, but it has three different manifestation. It can he a solid, a liquid, and a gas. Doesn't mean it still isn't water. What I don't understand is when God said "let US make" in Genesis that they don't get. This is why we need to read our Bible. Ann I agree I don't download the app, too easy to make changes. I have a hard back. Love the article

    1. Are you trying to use Genesis 1:26 to try and prove a trinity???
      1. You can't prove GOD was talking to other "persons" by this verse.
      2. And if you are trying to use this verse, can you please explain the next verse which reads:

27 So God created man in HIS own image, in the image of God created HE HIM; male and female created HE them.

  7. Trinitarian doctrine is perfectly compatible with scripture. THREE in ONE. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in One.

The ONLY issue I have with the video presentation is that the speaker makes a point about the word TRINITY not being found in the Bible.

But, by the same token, JESUS/CHRIST is NOT FOUND in the Old Testament.

Does that mean that JESUS/CHRIST was NOT in the Old Testament ?
