Sad, To See Another Church Close It Doors Because Of Financial Problems and Predatory Lending Practices By A Bank.

Reader according to research, on an average day in the United States, nine churches close their doors for good. This isn’t often talked about, partly because it’s not exactly breaking news. Church professionals know the trends: church membership and religious affiliation are declining. Relatively few churches are growing. It’s particularly hard to talk about your own church’s demise. It’s not easy to say what sometimes needs to be said: “It’s time for our church to close.”

Religious leaders in Bridgeport announced last Saturday that one of the biggest churches in the city was shutting down this past week.  Parish officials say the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit on Union Avenue is in foreclosure and the bank will take possession of the building. According to former Bishop Kenneth Moale's wife, the church is in need of $150,000 by this past Monday to keep the bank from foreclosing on the church.

Should Pastors Who Look At Porn Be Fired or Forced to Resign?

Reader among the findings in a landmark pornography study released this week was the notion that 41 percent of adult Christians surveyed believe that preachers should be asked to resign or fired if they look at porn. The study, titled, “The Porn Phenomenon” and commissioned by Josh McDowell Ministries, found that 21 percent of youth pastors and 14 percent of pastors involved in the study are currently struggling with porn use.

Many Adult Christians Think Pastors Who View Porn Should Resign or Be Fired

Comments

  1. I feel that pastors should keep their indiscretions to themselves and try to resist temptation at all times. I also believe that they must lead by example. But more importantly people need to put God first and not look to pastors to be anything other than human. With that said, if a pastor watches porn that's his business. I don't need to know about it. But if he's found out about then yes, he should be asked to step down. Only God knows what anyone does behind closed doors.

  2. Whether they should be fired or resign should be left up to the congregation.
I will say this however, for pastors who are married: Job said in Job 31:1 "I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?" And in vs 9 and 10 "If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door; Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

Don't be surprised if your wife gets grinded on, while you lusts after women on porn.

  3. If the pastor is using the churches computer, tablet, or phone that THEY PAY FOR then he needs to be treated like most other companies treat their employees when the use company equipment to look at porn. He needs to be fired/ suspended.
(But I don't believe many churches monitor the equipment that the pastor uses)

Pastors should be men of integrity, trustworthy & and the ability to control themselves as an EXAMPLE to those that follow and look up to them.
Basically everything mentioned in 1 Timothy 3.
