Lord Have Mercy Elder Earl Carter's Rights And Privileges As An Elder In COGIC Is About To Be Revoked.

Readers, some COGIC members are standing in full support of Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake with suggesting that the church cut ties with Elder Earl Carter. They have taken to social media with claims that one of the tenets of the church is respect for leadership.  Claims on social media are also being made that Elder Earl Carter's blatant and awful disrespect, in addition to the attacks and outright lies, must not be tolerated any longer.

Here's a letter from the C.O.G.I.C. website regarding the accusations from Pastor Earl Carter against this denomination and the presiding prelate, Bishop Charles Blake with the request to apologize or be disfellowshipped.

Facebook Comment:  If we allow this, it will open a floodgate that will cause our church to plummet to a place of chaos similar to Israel in Judges 21:25 when "Every man did what was right in his own eyes."

  1. Ms. Ann It's about time. I wouldn't be a member of anything and disrespect the leader.

    1. Where is the Biblical mandate for a public petition like this?

    2. They need to take that foolish list down. It has not accomplished a darn thing. The Presiding Bishop of the largest Black Pentecostal church over 6 Million members world wide can only get a little over 160 signatures in 4 days.? Not a good look, and some of those names don’t need to be on scratch paper let alone a petition. This a sho enuff a mess.

  2. The board should have made this move earlier before all the damage.
    He's called our leader names and has of now defamed Bishop Blakes' character. He says he has proof yet hasn't done anything. His money is being taking away due to closer doors since all of this plus he has given misinformation regarding two bishops in this denomination and had to apologize.

    1. The board allowed this man to preach at their convocation knowing this man preached passionately against homosexuality many times before. I believe they gave him a false sense of approval, having him think he could preach against homosexuality at their national event, and now he is exposing them. Plus the fact he has "Dr." in front of his name, is articulate and can use big words, a style to get the people aroused and excited. COGIC have always looked for a "boost" to heighten their convocation. That's why they go outside to get people like Jakes and Morton and high profile gospel artists (who drool at the opportunity to perform on the "great COGIC" stage"). Now this "BIG GROUP OF GODLY MEN" wants to throw this little preacher under the bus. What would it cost these “grand masters” to pardon this one man for his message of ministry they allowed him? It appears they need to stop this guy before “God allow their sins to find them out”. THIS IS BACKFIRE AT ITS BEST. I believe if he had preached with the same vigor and intensity against any other sin besides homosexuality, we would not even be having this discussion. DEAD CAT ON THE LINE for SURE!!!

    2. No, if Carter would have presented his message with some class & dignity then he wouldn't have been called out. The problem was never his message, as the ENTIRE world knows that the COGIC does not agree with homosexuality! The problem was his vile commentary and classless antics during his sermon. His message was lost in his foolery and made the church look silly. Simply put, he embarrassed the church. The COGIC organization takes themselves and their work very seriously and should not tolerate circus acts like Carl.

      What's even worse, is the fact that he cannot take the criticism, correct himself and move on together in love. He resists correction, lacks humility, is filled with vindictiveness, and has a spirit of arrogance. He should be seated and possibly revoked.

    4. The Old COGIC Church did not agree with homosexuality but I'm very doubtful about this new COGIC church under Blake. How can you make such a statement when Blake's COGIC has invited pro-gay, LGBT supporters Magic Johnson, Al Sharpton, and Maria Gardner to the convocation to address the saints. No wonder our young people are so confused with these mixed messages. Do you think Bishop Mason would have invited someone with the public views of these heretics to speak to the saints? Don't be brainwashed!!!!

    5. Here's the real issue with COGIC....it's the 501(c)3 that the hold and have attained great wealth by it. Making such speeches is a violation of 501(c)3 because now...it's against public policy:

      (1) The purpose of the organization is charitable;
      (2) the activities are not illegal, contrary to a clearly defined and established public policy, or in conflict with express statutory restrictions; and
      (3) the activities are in furtherance of the organization's exempt purpose and are reasonably related to the accomplishment of that purpose.

  5. Earl Carter didn't just start acting like this over nite in these videos. He's always been like that & the people who had him preach knew what time it was with him but still allowed him 2 go forth. That type of personality already has to be in you. That's not gonna develop overnight. My question is just this...why did they put him up?!

  6. Earl Carter is saying a lot that's true. Much of its old news really. However, I have my side eye on him as well. Something I just feel is off about all of them....

  7. Mr. Earl Carter is right in what he's doing. He may not be perfect (who is) but he is definitely right in his uncompromised stand against this flourishing homosexual community founding itself in the houses of the Lord, or really, very COMFORTABLY establishing itself in the church.
