Reader  interesting read! We have got to reach out to this generation. We have to lovingly mentor this generation. There world is way different that what some of us had. We lead by example. What happen from one generation to the next? Where did the ball get dropped? If he isn't the center of our life, walk, the way we entreat an react then how do we except Him to be theirs?!! "The psychic services industry — which includes astrology, aura reading, mediumship, tarot-card reading and palmistry, among other metaphysical services — grew 2% between 2011 and 2016. It is now worth $2 billion annually, according to industry analysis firm IBIS World".

Fix It Jesus: If Your Church Is Controlled By A Board, Your Church Is Out Of Order??

Reader's in my opinion, so many pastors has misappropriated so much money is why so many churches have to step up and taken control, especially when they see unnecessary spending.

The below post is what a displeased, unhappy, disappointed and disgruntled pastor posted to Facebook. Do you agree?

"If the board controls and dictates to the leader, your church is out of order. If your church hires and fires their pastors, your church is out of order.  If your church doesn't allow your pastor to oversee the finances, your church is out of order. God never left the church in the hands of no board. He left the church in the hands of the apostles and told them to occupy till He returns.
Your church is out of order, and cutting off it's blessings, when you make the church a corporation, and hire and fire the pastor, and dictate what he can and can not do. You will trust him to oversee your soul, but not your money. You are out of order. You are using a Walmart marketing system that keep the prices down to keep the people coming.
You have turned the church into a corporation with a board that hires and fires the pastor, and controls and dictates to him what he can and can not do. We have brought the American system of government of Democracy into the church, and that church is not a democracy, it is a theocracy.
It is controlled by GOD, through the MAN OF GOD, that HE set over the church, and that man of God answers to GOD, and must give an account of what's done in the church. If your church doesn't resemble the divine blueprint, that Jesus gave to the apostles. Your church is a false church."

  2. It's this kind of thinking that has led to pastors gone wild.

He states that church isn't a democracy.
Well it shouldn't be a dictatorship either allowing the pastor to rule and Lord over everything.

He wrote that the board shouldn't have the right to hire and fire pastors.

So what is a church to do when the pastor is using the church bank account to buy himself some gator shoes, and a Bentley?
Instead of helping those truly in need.
    Or
When he has slept with half of the women in the church and a few men?
(And don't give me that,"God will deal with them" garbage. If the pastor was stalking your son or daughter you wouldn't be waiting on God to deal with him)

Under this gentleman's ideas these pastor would be allowed to run a muck and act a fool with no accountability.

Also notice he has no scripture to back up his thoughts and rant.

“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and EXAMINED the Scriptures every day to see IF WHAT PAUL SAID WAS TRUE. ”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬
(Even Paul got scrutinize BY THE BOARD)

“But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.””
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭18:20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Just because someone SAYS they are CALLED BY GOD doesn't make it true.

Pastors are can fall into temptation like EVERYBODY ELSE.

And giving one man all the power with no checks and balances, or oversight allow him to easily turn the church into his personal heaven of the backs of the congregation.

    1. Cop what is this man talking about? Christ gave 5 gifts to the ministry with one job; And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-12) The only one man over the church is Christ. Paul said in (1Corinthians 3:4-7) For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. We have made titles out of gifts, and lords out of servants.

    2. Cop,who gave members the authority to "step up and control" the leader ???

      Delete
    3. I think there is a difference between controlling a leader and over seeing a leader.

I believe the lead pastor should have an input into the direction of the church (finances, out reach, and in that workings of the church)

But when the pastor word is law with no questioning, that's when churches run into problems.

      When the pastor says,
I am firing he head of the women's ministry (who has been there for 20 years) and hiring my wife.

I am using the offering from today's collection to pay for my family to fly to Barbados to minister to lost souls.

Or banning people from attending church

Your pastor has abused his powers.
Even the President of the United States has oversize and a process in place to fire him.

Pastors (as beloved as they are) should be treated like everyone else.

He is married to the church not KING OF THE CHURCH.

    4. Cop is this in your opinion more of a control issue than a leadership issue?

      Delete
    5. I think when a church has a lot of assets and power in the community it becomes a control issue.

But we have A LOT of pastors that can speak well, and command a room full of people to listen to them, and they call it leadership.

Leading a church takes more than just great speaking skills.

      They should,
      Lead by EXAMPLE.

Caring for those that can't care for themselves,

Show more interest in the people at the bottom than their Bottom line on money.

Willing to stand up for the word Regardless of how the world reacts.

And he should be above reproach with a good reputation.

It's hard to find real leaders of the gospel that haven't subjected themselves to SELF Glorification.

“He must increase, but I must decrease.”
      ‭‭John‬ ‭3:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    7. The Bible says churches should have multiple pastor-teachers/elders anyway, so that should eliminate a lot of the controversy right there. Most churches are out of order on that issue from the get.

  3. Ann I understand what he is saying. I was recently asked to resign as pastor because I wasn't letting the board control me. I was told not to move from behind the pulpit when preaching, I was told not to talk during the invitation while the song leader was singing, I was told I had no input on the church remodel they decided on. I believe that their should be committees to help with things, but no committee or board or group should have total control.

I guess that abuse of power can go both ways.

  4. The church was never intended to be a business in a building in the first place so..... All of it is wrong. The church is a body of people existing on Earth... No walls at all. Pastors aren't supposed to be paid, period. None of this mess is biblically supported.

    1. I encourage you to study your bible because what you say is actually not true. Pastors should get paid.

      1 Timothy 5; 17 - 18

The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.

For Scripture says, "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages."

      Delete
    2. The worker that deserves wages wad hired by someone. However, the early church model is also very different from the get paid model that exists today. The catholic church developed the current church model and it has resulted in people across all denominations gaining power and influence by using the hard earned dollars of the parishoners. So parishoners should have a say, even if througj a board.

    3. How much was Paul paid? Timothy? Paul actually refused money. Where in the Bible do you see a paid pastor? Or anywhere in church history prior to Constantine???? I'll wait...........

    5. Also you can miss me with all those commonly twisted scriptures. Don't ignorantly assume I don't know the Bible. Have you ever studied what Jesus said about the hireling? A hireling is a paid shepherd. Why dont we discuss that scripture? Also...pastor is a spiritual gift to the body. It's nothing more than a servant. How can one profit off of a God given gift? Should I be paid for my discernment and interpretation of tongues then??? Show me biblically. I'll wait........

    6. Pray all is well. The Scriptures you refer to is not the meaning you think it is. All Jesus was saying when He mentioned the hireling, because their motives was about money only and not the people and their souls. Jesus went even further in explaining how a false preacher will run and leave the congregants when danger (the enemy) comes in like a flood. So Jesus never stated, in the passage you chose to use, that a pastor/undershepherd shouldn't get paid. Just don't become a pastor with only the intent for monetary gain, eventually God will allow satan to run the false person off. Take care and be bless

    7. You still haven't showed me where it says a Pastor is a paid job. Please show me where scripture says its a paid career April....
I'm not against offerings and donations for pastors. It simply is NOT a career with a salary. And yes.....that scripture does apply here. Once you pay someone to do anything, its done from obligation and duty, not from LOVE. That's why you can't pay a hireling to do the work of God. Not to mention the fact that paid clergy can be bought or controlled based on who's giving them money. This is partly why Paul didn't accept the money from the church. He didn't want it taking away from the work of God. Furthermore, "God will allow satan to run th false person off" is what you said. How do you not know that these false teachers are allowed as part of Gods judgment on the ppl? God allowed Saul to be king bc the people rejected him ans wanted a man to lead them. Saul was a judgment on them. Same thing is happening today. Jesus is not enough. Yall want to pay a man to lead you smh. So again....I want y'all to show me biblically how this is appropriate and condoned. Lastly, I suggest you all read Ezekiel 34 and get back with me. I'd love to continue this convo.

    8. Also, the first time history indicates that believers met in buildings is in AD 321, when Emperor Constantine adopted Christianity but followed pagan tradition by building special temples for the Christians. A paid, professional clergy class arose. (Quoted from an Army of Ordinary People, p33).
Before that people met in their homes to have fellowship. Today the church has become a business and not a place where we can have true fellowship! Jesus always preached outside, by doing this He took people outside the church walls so that He could preach His freedom. When inside a church you are bound by that church's believes, rules & traditions. Fellowship is important, but the building not at all! Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Thanks Ms Ann for allowing me to post all this. I'm passionate about ppl following Christ the way HE intended us to :-)

    9. The Church is us, this is true. Also Jesus talked to the multitudes outside because it was impossible to have that many people inside, and also women were not allowed in the synagogue. Jesus came to be an example for us because the first Adam failed/fell. David talks about Jesus in Psalms how He, Jesus, became a god (flesh, He lowered Himself from the place of authority, to redeem us from sin).

In 1 Corinthians 9:5-7, Paul may have not received help from Corinth, but he did receive help from other churches because he knew their hearts already. Paul knew if he was to take monetary from this particular church, negative things would be said because they were still babes in Christ. They hadn't graduated from milk, they did not understand how God operated in that time. Do you think Jesus ministered for free? If you believe that, why was Judas the treasurer, why did Judas ask Jesus about how much money could have been made if He would have given Judas the oil and soled it? This is why we must pray and ask God for knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of His Word when we read the Bible. Hope this helps

    10. Your talking to me in a condescending tone as though I need your teaching. This is the first error. I'm trying to have a discussion and you are trying to teach and correct me. I need not that any man teach me but Christ. Can we reason together on this? Judas being treasurer doesn't prove that Pastors should be salaried. Why even bring that up? Jesus wasn't on a salary lol. You're being condescending AND making invalid points. I asked you a clear and pointed question. Show me where scripture validated a man being salaried to do the work of God? I'll wait again......
As I said, I'm not knocking love offerings and donations. I'm taking about someone making a paid career out of God's gifting/work. Also consider.... Pastors are typically paid from tithes and offerings. Tithing is done away with now so again, why are these men receiving salaries? I'm looking for an answer to my one question.

    11. Here's a good article on paid pastors April http://pimppreacher.com/post/71444372486/why-pastors-should-not-get-paid-to-preach-page

    12. No one is speaking to you in any way. If you received it that way, then I apologize. But why go on the defense? If pastors are getting a salary through the gospel, who gives us a right to say that this does not come from God. If God tells a person to stop working for the world and work for Me, don't you know He will make provision? You may see it, in your natural eye, as a salary. But God sees it as being about His business. It takes money to live, now for those who exploit the Gospel, you should be able to see or discern if they come from God by the fruit they bare. If what they preach does not align with the Word of God, (or they don't live what they preach) then you will know who sent them.

When Jesus died and had ascended back to the Father, believers (Christians) were marked as blasphemers, and just like those who rose and had a following, but the leader was killed, and his members were scattered. The doctor, at Stephens trial, stated if they do not come from God then they will not last, but if they do you are now fighting with God and not the man himself.

So, if God tells His servant to stop working for the world and work for Him, no one has a right to say anything, because if they do not belong to God their ministry will not last, but if they do, you are fighting against God Himself.

I have a YouTube, and I get my sources from here, Pimp Preacher, and Joy105. I know there are wolves in the pulpit. But we can not assume things, or we are no better than the very ones that put Jesus on the cross. Didn't they not use Scripture to try and trap Jesus? Pray for discernment, see if they are sent by God

Do I believe you are curse with a curse if you don't tithe, NO. Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law. If we are not careful we will find ourselves just like the Sanhedrin court, trying to justify who God sent, and who qualifies for His job. Last time I checked even God used a jacka$$ to warn the false prophet. Be bless!

      Delete
    13. I see I'm not going to get an answer to my question so I will leave this alone. The Lord will provide, but a man who doesn't work doesn't eat. There's no scriptural precedent for taking money from the church coffer and putting it in the account of an able bodied man who likely works much less than 40 hours a week on God's business. I suggest you read a book by Frank Viola titled Pagan Christianity, coupled with the Bible and you might see more clearly as to where I'm coming from sister. Again, I'm not against blessing anyone. I'm against church being a corporation/hierarchy with the Pastor as the highest paid individual, while members struggle to pay their bill, tithes and stay afloat. It's not what Jesus intended for His people.

      Delete
    14. See this is what I am trying to get you to understand. What if their salary is 25K? Do you really believe you can live on that? Peter was a fisherman right? Did Peter stay fishing or did Jesus tell him He will make them fishers of men? The military takes care of their men/women by taking care of their necessities, so when they go to war, the mission is first and not worrying how they are going to pay their bills. God is raising an army, His remnant, to do His will. If He tells someone to stop working for the world and follow Him, you must do it. If they driving Bentley's (pastors) and their members catch a bus or taxi to church, are they meeting the needs of God's people, NO. So, by them not meeting the needs of the people, are you? Do you go to soup kitchen and feed the hungry, do you visit those who are locked up, do you clothe the naked? Because if you do not, you are no better than the pastor, in your eyes, that receive a salary.

If they misuse the people, step in and give what God puts on your heart to give. And it's not always money, your kindness, your love, your respect, your time, your gift, and the list goes on. I have learn to just help people regardless if I have a title or not. Because we ALL have to answer to God. And I don't want to be the one that hid my one talent, but I want to multiply it, bring more to Christ by being a servant Of God. Love you, praying that church hurt will be broken that is in your heart. Forgive them, because Christ forgives us daily.

      Delete
    15. Lol@church hurt!! We are done here. You're too quick to teach and too slow to listen. I can't talk to you on that pedestal you're standing on. Have a nice day.

      Delete
    16. Not on a pedestal. But I have learned that when someone is pouring energy into something like you have displayed on here, clearly proves of you being hurt by a pastor. You had put all your hope, trust, loyalty to them and they let you down. Now you're on this campaign from the hurt you went through by that pastor. You can inbox me at thegospeltruth2013@gmail.com, where we can speak privately and not in a public forum. If you are done speaking with me, I respect that. But sometimes God answers in ways WE don't want to receive it. The Sanhedrin did not want to accept Jesus because the way He came. They were looking for a King, but He became flesh, to become the 2nd Adam for us. Don't allow the answer that you prayed for fall on deaf ears because the way God has answered you.

      Delete
  5. When people realize that church is a business, then it willmake sense how out of line padtirs are who dont want to be accountable. They want to rule like kings without being accountable to the people they are supposed to serve and lead.
