A Shelter Require Homeless Women To Attend Megachurch And Tithe!!

Image
Reader this is a doggone shame, a homeless woman says a shelter required her to attend Church of the Highlands, even though a church where she was a member was about a block away.
A women's shelter in Birmingham requires all residents to board a
van and attended worship services at the Woodlawn branch of the Church of the Highlands each Sunday. They're not given the option to attend any other church. They're also required to tithe every week, despite being homeless.

Is Dr. Jasmin "Jazz" Sculark Leaving Jericho City Of Praise?

Readers, Dr. Jasmin "Jazz" Sculark, CEO and Founder of Dr. Jazz Ministries, releases the following statement in response to the District of Columbia court of Appeals decision on August 10, 2015 regarding Jericho City of Praise.

"I have been honored to pastor at Jericho City of Praise for this past year and serve the congregation and community. I am not, nor have I ever been involved in any way, directly nor indirectly in any of the legal battles surrounding the church and the Board of Directors. All of the legal cases predate my arrival to Jericho City of Praise. "God sent me to the DMV area to minister to souls. I was never called to a building, but to reach and win people for the kingdom of God. My thoughts and prayers are with the people and pastor that will give leadership to the Jericho City of Praise Church. Remaining faithful while laboring together with God." -- Dr. Jasmin Sculark, CEO & Founder, Dr. Jazz Ministries.

  1. From my humble understanding, the whole situation was handled incorrectly, including her extravagant installation services conducted by T.D. Jakes.

    1. Mike, I agree. I'm thinking Dr. Jazz, should have counted the cost of this move. In my opinion, she took some bad advice.

  2. GIRL BYE!!!

TD Jakes, Jasmin and EVERYBODY in between tried to take advantage of a church in turmoil.

And YES, they are at least indirectly involved. They tried to squat in the pulpit and expected everyone to go along with it because of their big names.

She "SAYS" She was called to preach to the souls in the Maryland and DC area (and she doesn't need a building) but some how I don't think she we'll stick around the area to preach to those souls.

    Again I say, BYE GIRL!!!

  3. I am really happy that Bishop Joel will be back at Jericho and also thankful that Pastor Sculark stepped in to continue to feed those who were still attending Jericho while everything was legally being worked out. It was so important that even in the mist of all that was going that the doors of the church stayed open .

Sculark didn't STEP IN and hold Joel's spot while everything was worked out.

She was placed their by Jakes to permanently hold that spot

Sculark wasn't working TOGETHER with Joel to keep the doors open for people to be fed (like she was some substitute preacher to fill in till he returned).

This was a hastily arranged hostile takeover, and they just got bounced out by the courts.

I am pretty sure Joel won't be shaking Jasmin's hand and saying, "Thanks for watching over the church while I was gone"
It would be more like, " Go find and build YOUR OWN CHURCH".

    2. Cop,

Respectfully , In my opinion ,she did step in to hold his spot, even if she didn't do it with that thought in mind. She continued the ministry for all those who came and for those who did not leave. Remember she was not there when things went down however, the gospel cant stop because of the distraction of men. The church still needed to have order and a Pastor in place to take care of those who came and continued coming .

Let me end by saying I don't know Dr. Jazz personally but I am just looking at it from the point of trying to keep the sheep from being lost or scattered in the mist of troubling times.

    3. We might have to agree to disagree.

But let me give you some things to ponder.

      1. She may have had NOTHING to do with the drama that unfolded in the church, but When she "accepted" the position as pastor, she had (even if unwillingly) sided with the new board over Joel. She can't just CLAIM innocents and slip into the pulpit like she had nothing to gain from it.

      2. If Jakes or Jasmin had done just a grade school level research and some mild discernment they would have waited for things play out before moving in. The BIBLICAL THING TO DO would have been to help them find a solution without having to fight it out in court instead of jumping into the drivers seat while their pants were down.

      3. The fact that Joel had to get a court order to kick Jasmin out of he pulpit shows what side she had chosen. She is trying to distance herself from the mess now to try and save face. Had the court ruled the other way she wouldn't have even thought about Joel or the members that follow him.

  4. She is a lying wonder! She is complicit in this matter. She was fully aware, as the whole nation, about this foolishness that took place at this blessed place of God. Jakes, And Mike Freeman will pay because God is going to judge this matter. In fact, the judgement is already in motion. God still sits high and looks low. This women is a pawn in Jakes' hands and to lie and say that she was not involved is a fat lie.

    1. Mario I here you, but I must congratulate her in the way she has handled this and acted by writing a statement and making it clear that she were in no way in the court battle. For now she is at The First Baptist Church of Glenndale๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ.

    2. She was apart of the whole mess once she accepted the bootleg board's invitation to become pastor. As a pastor you can't say you don't have anything to do with one faucet of a church but just preaching... A pastor is involved in every decision a church makes... Why do women preachers get praised no matter how wrong they are but men preachers get condemned?

  5. The City of Praise FM under the leadership of Bishop Joel R. Peebles Sr and our true board took control of our Landover MD property on 8/10/15. The first service back at the property was 8/30/15. It's estimated that 8,000 people was in attendance. Glory to God!

  7. According to the bible this is not the way believes handle such issue. 1 Corinthians 6:1–8 somebody stepped outside of the Kingdom of God.
