More Americans Say That You Can Be Good Without God?

Image
Reader for the first time, a majority of Americans — 56 percent — say it is possible to be a good person without a religious belief. So says new Pew Research Center data drawn from two polls conducted among about 5,000 American adults in June and July. “God is not a prerequisite for good values and morality,” Greg Smith, Pew’s associate director of research, said in a post about the findings. ” … [T]he public’s increased rejection of the idea that belief in God is necessary for morality is due, in large part, to the spike in the share of Americans who are religious ‘nones.

Bishop T.D. Jakes On The Black Church's Shifting Stance On Homosexuality.

Readers, some on social media think Bishop Jakes made some valid points in a dialogue he had Monday with HuffPost live, Marc Lamont-Hill, about discriminating against folks who are gay and the church move toward acceptance.  Bishop T.D. Jakes thinks it is "absolutely" possible for the LGBT and black communities to coexist. Jakes, who joined HuffPost Live on Monday, opened up to host Marc Lamont-Hill about his thoughts on the relationship between these communities. "I think that it's going to diverse from church to church every church has a different opinion on the issue and every gay person is different," Jakes said.

  1. That was some impressive verbal gymnastics.

he said. "And the church should have it's own convictions and values."

"Jakes believes churches are allowed to practice and preach values shared by their respective LEADERS."

Aren't these CHRISTIAN leaders & churches suppose to be getting all that information from the Bible?

And again Jakes leaves no clear judgement on which side he stands on Homosexuality.
    Riding the fence once again.

    1. Cop the interviewer threw him nothing but softballs. All he was asking was, Is homosexuality a sin. He refused to say it. I get loving the sinner but you can still love the sinner and call sin, sin.

  2. I'm amazed at how major named, on T.V. preachers won't allow the Word of God to do the preaching...OH! I forgot!! They have millions of dollars at stake and they are afraid of the real persecution that's to come for true believers, no more of the destiny, favor, harvest, purpose, blessing message.... It's time to prepare and quit this pie in the sky everything is gonna be fine. Satan is the "god" of this world.. Our true favor will come when we leave this crazy sin-sick earth.
