A Shelter Require Homeless Women To Attend Megachurch And Tithe!!

Image
Reader this is a doggone shame, a homeless woman says a shelter required her to attend Church of the Highlands, even though a church where she was a member was about a block away.
A women's shelter in Birmingham requires all residents to board a
van and attended worship services at the Woodlawn branch of the Church of the Highlands each Sunday. They're not given the option to attend any other church. They're also required to tithe every week, despite being homeless.

Bishop Jake: Want Folks To Stop With The Lies, He Does Not Endorse Same Sex Marriage.

Readers, Bishop Jakes has issued a well-written statement concerning his stance on same-sex marriage. According to social media, Bishop Jakes responds is directed at Christiannews.net. I would encourage all of  you who are reading this to do two things. First, read his response, and second, stop reading and trusting these Right Wing Conservative news sites. It's alleged that this is the second fruit-bearing ministry they have been lied about in the past 2 weeks.

Facebook: My comment on HuffPo TV drifted into issues of the Supreme Court ruling and changing the world through public policy versus personal witness. Further, I have come to respect that I can't force my beliefs on others by controlling public policy for tax payers and other U.S. citizens. Jesus never sought to change the world through public policy but rather through personal transformation. All people didn't embrace him either. That's what I said and what I meant .... Nothing more and nothing less. Just because a so-called Christian publication chooses to misconstrue my words using lazy journalistic tactics to further their own agenda and draw attention to their site does not make their statements an accurate depiction of what I said or meant.
Investigate. Do not take everything you read online or hear repeated as truth. When asked about the "black church" and its role in ministering to gay people, I briefly mentioned ( we were running out of time) the word " evolved and evolving" regarding my approach over the 39 years of my ministry to gay people who choose to come to our services. I simply meant that my method is evolving -- not my message. I was SHOCKED to read that this was manipulated in a subsequent article to say I endorsed same sex marriage! My position on the subject has been steadfast and rooted in scripture. For the record, I do not endorse same sex marriage but I respect the rights that this country affords those that disagree with me. http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/55c0cc80e4b0b23e3ce3ff7a

    1. AGAIN - eventually y'all are going to stop reading these "online" publications that are trying to get famous with NO journalistic credibility and hear from the PERSON themself BEFORE you go around ‪#‎bashing‬ them and the incredible work that they do.
Thank you Bishop Jakes for your influence in the kingdom. Remarkable response.

  4. Wow Shakey Jake FINALLY took a stand on something... AMEN!!! I wish he would do the same for his thoughts on the Trinity. Oh well, maybe one day :)

  5. That's the first time I EVER heard Jakes actual state (CLEARLY) where he stood on same sex marriage.

"He advocates that LGBT people attend a church that aligns with their own beliefs and values."

So Jakes has no problem having homosexuals go to a church that supports their lifestyle instead of preaching the truth to them in love.

And at the end of his statement he adds one more double speak to decipher.

" For the record, I do not endorse same sex marriage but I RESPECT THE RIGHTS that this country affords those that disagree with me"

Does he RESPECT the rights of other sinful LIFESTYLES?
Does he respect the adulterers, porn stars, and transgender lifestyles as much as he does homosexuals? Because our country allows those lifestyles as well.

If Jakes is going to be upset, he should be upset with his own lack of clarity on same sex marriage AND the homosexual lifestyle.

  7. What about to each his own. I am amazed at so called Christians who condemn any and everything. What about praying for those that are lost to the truth. Opinions, wow, no wonder people are doing any and everything and not listening to such negative spew. I do not believe in same sex anything but instead of judging, I am praying.

    1. By saying, "you don't believe in same sex anything"

You do realize you ARE JUDGING?

And there is nothing wrong with you judging a persons behavior.

No of us would make it in this world very long if we didn't judge people's character and actions.

    2. Amen Cop...even if Anonymous would say he / she was not judging, he / she was definitely giving his "opinion", which seemed to "wow" him when others gave theirs. Be careful Anonymous, there is Scripture against that, remember the "beam and the mote"...

  8. That's what I'm talking about. I've been sitting back waiting on the "real deal". The real source now speaks. Some of you negro's SO QUICK to call people "false prophets and teachers" based on ONE news article. You'd rather read something online (because everything online is true) than INVESTIGATE for yourself because you've already formulated your opinion about a person. You're so busy LOOKING for information to discredit a person (confirmation bias) that you're so far from Biblical teaching which exhorts us to "Prove all things." Some of you "church folks" and leaders on social media behind a keyboard and a phone ought to be shame of yourselves. Investigate and research before you throw someone under the bus because of what you THOUGHT they said. Sure hope y'all don't operate your marriages, relationships and friendships like that.
