Sad News: DC Has Lost It Mayor For Life, Marion Barry.

Thanks to Donnie Simpson, for a wonderful Facebook post about DC Mayor, Marion Barry.  After Mayor Barry, passing early today there have been plenty of negative posts written about him, for me this particular post was refreshing to read.

Our people have become so negative lately that they continue to overlook the good in others. His service to the community will truly be missed. He did a lot for a community that loved him and supported him. RIP Mayor Marion Barry.

  1. Its unfortunate Mayor Marion Barry will be remembered for his flaws. But many know and understand what an important leader he was in building black economic prosperity in D.C., where there had been none before him. When will we all learn that great men are also human with faults and sins just like the rest of US! Good to see his peers remembering the better Marion Barry. RIP

    1. I R. I. P Mayor for life Marion Barry. One of the greatest black mayors we ever had. I lived in D.C for a year (NW) while he was mayor. It's a shame some black people already disrespecting him before they even bury the man. I've seen "put your crack pipes in the air" "The crack mayor" ect. F**k y'all. That man ain't hurt nobody but himself with his addiction. He was good for the city and black people in particular. We love you my brother, we remember your vision and programs, the ignorant people remember your sins.

  2. We always look for the bad\ when we should accent the positives eliminate negative and for get about the in between

  3. R.I.P. He was loved in his community. Regardless that the Mainstream media focused on any sensational reports that he had faults. Thanks for his community service.
