Dr. Maya Angelou: “There are many roads to God.”

Image
The below video is troubling to say the least, in the video clip, you will see the late Maya Angelou make a comment that isn't supported by the majority of the Christian community. I believe like most Christians, salvation is through Jesus Christ ALONE ... for He is the ONLY way to God.

The Time Has Come For The "So-called Fathers” and “Mothers” In The Ministry To Publicly Stand With Pastor Charles Jenkins And His Family.

Image
BCNN1 Editors really got a lot of nerve, with this request.  They are asking and encouraging all “fathers” in the ministry and all “fathers” and “mothers” in the Gospel music industry, especially those who were all up in Pastor Charles Jenkins face, when things were going well for him......took pictures with him, invited him to their churches and events, and accepted invitations to his church and events, to stand with him now when things are not going so well for him. They are also, encouraging preacher, pastors, teachers and leaders to speak up for him and let people know that they are going to help him through this difficult time. Yes, the adultery, the betrayal of one’s spouse, and having a naked picture of him on the internet is a terrible situation, but it is no worse than committing adultery, murdering the woman’s husband, and lying about it for almost a year.  And it is no worse than denying Jesus Christ three times. We are not suggesting that you compromise bibl

Black Church Announcement:We Will No Longer Support NPR!

Image
I regularly listen to Tell Me More, the barber shop segment was one of my favorite parts of the show. Tell Me More, and Keeping It Real with Rev. Al was the only talk radio I listen to both or wonderful programs. Anyhow, a black church group is telling its members to keep their money. NPR recently canceled “Tell Me More,” its only program featuring an African-American host, and now the National Black Church Initiative, a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches, is calling on all African Americans not to donate to National Public Radio. The show, which was hosted by veteran journalist Michel Martin, focused regularly on issues and concerns of the black community. NPR Member Stations rely most heavily on the contributions from listeners, and sponsorship from local companies and organizations. Source:

Rest In Peace: Professor Melvin Crispell!

Image
My condolences go out to Melvin Crispell family. The Gospel community has truly loss one of the greatest and most influential musicians of our time. For many who don't recognize his name, he's the main organist on just about every recording that Hezikiah Walker and   James Hall  ever made. If you're fans of their music, then you can imagine how great a loss this is and how much he will be missed. Source: Update:

Jesus Take The Wheel: Tiffany Morriar Interview With Prophet Brian Carn!

Image
Lord, have mercy folks need to be careful in these interviews. What you don't say when ask a direct question, can be as damaging as what you do answer.  Specially, be careful when you say, God gave you a national platform and an international ministry. Folks on social media have uncovered  a telling phone interview Prophet Brian Carn gave to Tiffany Morriar last year.  As you know, a woman in 2012, revealed to the church community that Prophet Brian Carn had passed on an STD to her.  The accused woman reveled her ordeal and it went viral. However, Prophet Brian Carn never defended himself, nor spoke up, against the said allegation, until now.   In the video clip below Tiffany Morriar, the show host asks Prophet Brian Carn about the allegation. The prophet attempts  to address the allegation, by using scripture to avoid answering. One thing for sure, he never answered the host question.

Atlanta’s Oldest Black Church Closes!

Image
It was an emotional morning, Sunday at Atlanta’s oldest African-American church. After more than 150 years, Friendship Baptist held its final service before moving to make way for the stadium for the Atlanta Falcons. On this Sunday, there were three times the number of people who typically flock to this historic building – here to see one last baptism, one final sermon before these walls come down.   The legacy stretches back to 1862, in a building that gave birth to Spellman College. The first classes were held in the church basement. The first classes were held in the church basement. Rev. William Guy was pastor here for thirty-seven years. Source:

A Christian Obstetrician Explains Why He Performs Abortions!

Image
Now, this article is quite interesting. Willie J. Parker, an obstetrician based in Washington, D.C., didn’t always perform abortions. He’s a Christian from Birmingham, Ala., who initially refused to even consider the procedure. But about halfway into his 20-year career, he changed his mind. Source: Now, he’s one of those rare doctors who is willing to push the limits and provide abortions at 24 weeks of pregnancy. That places him among only about 11 percent of all abortion providers who will do the procedure that late in the second trimester.

Dr H.B.Charles Encourages Gospel Artists, To Please, Pick A Side!

Image
Lord, have mercy, I just love the latest article written by Dr. H. B. Charles jr. Senior pastor at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Charles, have called for the Gospel Music artist to get real. " The world has pulled Gospel Music down. In leaning over to reach the world, the church has fallen in. And I do not say this in reference to musical style. I am talking about the content, focus, and purpose of today’s music. Praise God for the exceptions!   Listen to them. Buy them. Encourage them. Invite them. Sing them . But the church should ignore the Gospel artists who are obviously more concerned about making money, becoming famous, and having their music affirmed by the world. If that’s what you want, fine. Go get it. But let the church be the church! For God’s sake, please pick a side! "     Also, Dr. Charles, mention:    " How many Gospel  artists feel their gifts and work are unappreciated by the church and disrespected by the w

If Your Group Ask For T.D. Jakes To Be The "KEYNOTE" Speaker At Your Event, Your Gonna Pay!

Image
Church folk Revolution got an interesting blog post up stating that Bishop T.D. Jakes asked for over $100,000 as an honorarium. Some folks are saying they don't see nothing wrong with that request, especially when one considers Jakes drawing power as a KEYNOTE SPEAKER and PREACHER OF THE GOSPEL. The comment below is from a Facebook group: " Now before anyone wants to stone me or get bent out of shape, let me explain.  The people who requested Jakes requested A KEYNOTE SPEAKER.  Jakes is not limited to the limitations you choose to put on him. I believe Bishop Jakes is not only a  "minister of the Gospel", but he is also a BRILLIANT BUSINESS MAN, BEST SELLING AUTHOR and a MOVIE PRODUCER to name a few.  Preachers don't give KEYNOTES... . business men do. So when you ask Jakes (or Stephanie C. Harper) to come and give a KEYNOTE, please note, you are requesting Thomas D. Jakes (the Business Man, the Author and The Movie Producer). You are not asking for Bis

Do You Agree: The 10 Least Popular Books of the Bible?

Image
Lord, I am shocked to see "Jonah" in this list, considering everyone know's about Jonah and the whale, but not too surprised by some of the rest.  Now if I were asked which book I would remove from this list and, which one would I replace it with..... It would be the book of Philemon with the book of Chronicles. Now, am somewhat  surprised that Chronicles did not make the list. I swear this book would've been my first choice.  Do you agree with the list? If not which book would you remove?   Go here for a bit of explanation and the source of the infographic. Very interesting!

Michelle Williams: When Jesus Says Yes!

Not a big fan of today's "Gospel Music" but, I must admit, I do like a newly release Michelle Williams Gospel track.   I love the way she put a nice spin on a popular Nigerian/West African praise song.

United House Of Prayer NC Under Investigation For Idolizing The Pastor, Sort Of!

Image
Let me get this straight a, church in Charlotte, N.C .   put's a man on a throne and carries him around as if he's THE KING and none of the members seem to bat an eye, nor think nothing about it, is mind boggling, to say the least.   But what's even more startling is the number of folks that are defending this man actions.  This is nothing but idolizing of a man... . by  putting "Sweet Daddy" in the place of GOD is a little too much for me.  It's absurd that people worship this man  as if he is Christ. I feel sorry for the members of this church, they are led astray by self-righteous men claiming to be" prophets" of GOD.  The Bishop of the United House of Prayer for All People, a denomination which stripped its national evangelist of his credentials after he developed prostate cancer, continues to welcome a leading contributor who stole more than $5 million and donated a part of the stolen money to the church, The United House of Prayer

Get Out Of Here: Ma$e Bans Wife (Tyla Betha) From The Pulpit Due To Drinking & Hypocrisy!

Question: Do God Judge The Sins Of Carnal Christians Now? Toni Braxton Once Thought Son’s Autism Was God’s Judgment for Previous Abortion??

Image
Wow, so children with disorders are from their parents' sins? Who would've thought? Toni Braxton opens up a can of worms this week with her comment, she believes God’s payback for her previous abortion was to give her  son   autism.  In the singer’s new book she opens up about an abortion she had before in 2001 before she was married. Braxton said the abortion has haunted her through the years and caused her to wonder if her second son’s autism diagnosis was her punishment for the procedure. I'm surprised, Toni, once believe a loving God would do such a  horrible thing as making the children pay for a parent's sin. I'm thinking, if she knew God's, nature, she would never have blamed God for her son's disorder.  Toni grew up in a strict Christian home, where, she most likely had to have heard it rains on the just as well as the unjust.  I Am one who, doesn't believe God judges people in this life. Scripture doesn't indicate this to be

Church Mess: First Lady Alleged To Have Taken Over Hill Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Due To The Weakness Of The Deacons??

Image
Question, do the church member have the right to know what's going on with their senior pastor, beyond what's been reported to them in a praise report on Sunday morning? If so, how much more?  According to Thaddaus  Matthew Facebook page , some of the members of  the Hills Chapel Missionary  Baptist Church in Raleigh are asking for answers. Some of the members are questioning whether their pastor, Robert Jones is dead or alive. According to Mr. Matthew, who has posted to his Facebook page two text messages that were sent to him from a long time member of the church, claiming that, in the pastor's absence the first lady has taken over the finances of the church and have made their son the assistant pastor. According to some of the comments the church deacons didn't appoint the son to the leadership role, mom did: According to the comment below it's not all true:   " The sad part of this story is that it is not true. Pastor Jones is very much a

What If Your Pastor Had Gay Men On His Facebook Page, Would You Judge Him?

Image
Lord have mercy, this is an interesting question that appeared in one of my email alerts.   " I've been going to a church for a while now and recently noticed the pastor and four of his male staff have a ton of openly gay men on their friends list, who happen to be OUT OF TOWN. So I confronted the pastor about it and he said there's nothing wrong with having gay men on their fiends list, even though they have graphic images on their pages.  Then recently at a service two young men sat in front of me who appeared to be interacting as a gay couple. My mom said she didn't believe they were gay, and that I was being judgmental and I had to ask for Gods forgiveness. But I've been noticing a few other young men at the church appear to be homosexual despite the fact that the pastor preaches against it. Please help. Is my Mom right? Do I need to repent for being judgmental? " Thoughts?

Why the double standard?   Update:   Pregnant Sudanese Woman Gives Birth in Prison.

Lord have mercy, Church folk, you gotta love EM'!  Chanelle Haynes of the group Trin-I-Tee 5:7, fans went in on her this morning for two pics she posted to her Facebook page.   It amazes me how people think they can come to someone personal page and write negative comments, about that person.  Anyway, check out some of the negative comments below: " I don't believe you are going to hell because of your hairstyle , but your clothing and lifestyle should look like you represent JESUS CHRIST , if indeed you represent him You are supposed to be set apart.  Ok, it's different and colorful. Lol but honey if you like it, then it's you. Be all you can and keep your heart. You know something not everyone is going to like what we say, do or think. Question For Today: Why Can't The Gay Community Use The Same Civil Rights Laws For Their Causes?

Image
W hy shouldn't the homosexual community be allowed to use the same laws that were used for the civil rights movement for their cause? That's the question that I am asking. I'm not asking can the homosexual community struggles be compared to the Civil Rights struggle, because me, myself and I don't believe that to be true.   B ut, on the other hand,  I do believe the homosexual community, can use the same laws that were used to help pass Civil Rights for all, for their own cause.  There is nothing that I'm aware of that prohibit another group, from using similar strategies that work for another group for their cause.   I believe the church's mistake was made when it enter this fight regarding marriage from the start with thinking it's a church issue when it's not.   A s currently understood, marriage is a civil right that grants certain benefits to any willing adult. To deny these rights to those who are gay or lesbian is to deny to them righ
