According to a new study from Yale University, weight discrimination is a widespread problem in this country, and it's only getting worse. The researchers found that weight discrimination occurs both on the job and in social setting almost as frequently as racism. What's more, overweight women are twice as likely to be discriminated against as overweight men. The study also argues that American culture sends the message that weight discrimination is acceptable. Do you agree? Have you seen weight discrimination in your community or office? Has it happened to you?I like watching the Discovery Channel's Brookhaven Obesity Clinic. That show has really open my eyes to some of the hurt that obesity people deal with.
