When I first heard the awful and painful news about Pastor Rick Warren son Matthew I knew the foolishness and confusion surrounding suicide was going to soon follow. "SUICIDE IS NOT THE UNPARDONABLE SIN." Suicide can and will be forgiven by GOD according to Scripture.
I work with a young man who's a Christian that adamantly and unshakably believes that if one kill himself he's hell bound. Any time the subject of suicide come up I have to remind him that's not biblical, the Bible does not teach that. There are a lot of Christians like this young man, who believe that suicide is an unpardonable sin. They just can't see how's it is possible to ask forgiveness for that particular sin after one have taken their own life.
Once again, this is not a true, and it's not found in the Bible. In my personal opinion (since me, myself and I being the one who must answer for my choices on that day) I move through this life with the mindset "once saved always saved". I believe when a person comes to Jesus Christ as a sinner who's lost, under the condemnation of God (Romans 3:10,19), and places their faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins (Galatians 3:26) then every sin going forward are forgiven forever, including "ALL" future sins (Romans 8:1; Psalm 103:12). I don't believe everyone who commits suicide are lost forever.
