That New Age stuff has pull her off course. Oprah said on a clip that she grew up in a Baptist Church, and the pastor said God was a jealous God. She stated that she could not see God as being jealous. Well Oprah He is. No God before Him. You might not call it jealous but He do. Since He is the maker of us I think He has the rights to label it any way He wants.
Oprah Winfrey has conquered television and magazines. Now she’s topping digital-media charts with the most popular podcast on iTunes and a series of webcasts drawing hundreds of thousands of online viewers. Why would she destroy every thing she has work so hard for by her denial of Christ?
The big online audiences stem from the Oprah’s Book Club segment of her television show, well-known for its ability to propel authors to the heights of the bestseller lists.
For her latest book club selection, Ms. Winfrey is pulling out all the multimedia stops. The book is “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose,” by Eckhart Tolle, a self-help guru that Ms. Winfrey has previously proclaimed one of her favorite authors. The book, published in late January, debuted on The Wall Street Journal’s nonfiction bestseller list this week at number 11. But the book sales are only part of the story.
To mark Mr. Tolle’s new book, Ms. Winfrey launched a 10-week “interactive webinar” for viewers who want to study the text. Translation: Each Monday night at 9 p.m. ET, readers can go online and view a live webcast in which Ms. Winfrey and Mr. Tolle discuss chapters from “A New Earth.” Viewers have the opportunity to ask questions during the webcast, and are invited to prep for the event with study materials at Oprah.com.
