How many people write their own obituary? I believe we are writing our own, every day by the life we live. Weather it be good are bad we will be remember for something. Have you ever went to a funeral were the speaker was searching for something good to say about the person? Therefore, the speaker may say something that is not true so, in your heart you are saying that's not the person I knew. You no what? never let someone else write your obituary. And its nothing wrong with writing it daily. Sow words of kindness, invest in the lives of others, learn the language of encouragement, find the good in other people and you will be writing your own obituary. In the Psalm (90:9) the writer said: "Life is lived as a tale that is told, and each transition is like rose petals pressed between pages of memories for retrieving in days ahead." We have a choice write it ourselves or leave it too others. Which one would you rather do? I once heard Rev. Al Sharpton make a statement some years ago that I can't get out of my head: "one of the hardest jobs for a preacher is to preach a funeral of a irreverent negro".
