What Has Caused This Movement Away From The GOP?

So what has caused this movement away from the GOP?Now I suspect that after eight years in the White House, the Republican party has became synonymous with the Bush administration, which also means it's synonymous with two wars, the recession, Hurricane Katrina, and some strong religion-based positions such as support for abstinence-only education, overturning Roe v. Wade, and bans on stem-cell research and same-sex marriage... Judging by the poll results, Americans who previously supported the Republican agenda and ideology are ready to try something new...According to a new Gallup poll, the Republican party has lost support in nearly every demographic of American society — be it low-income, high-income, college educated, male, female, southern, white, or nonwhite voters... Support remains steady only among frequent churchgoers...In the general population, Republicans trail Democrats in support by a 14-point margin, compared to an even split in 2001. Among women, support for the GOP is down 5 percentage points since George W. Bush's first year in office. Today, only 35 percent of American women lean Republican and overall fewer women than men are Republican.
Question
: Why do you think women — and almost all other demographic groups are moving away from the Republican party?

Judging The President!

Last night someone asked whether President Obama race had played a role in his actions following his election as the first African-American president. The President answer that his administration, “has been dominated by me trying to figure out how we’re going to fix the economy, and that affects black, brown, and white.” The president said “while there was “justifiable pride” in the historic step of his election. That lasted about a day. . . . Right now the American people are judging me exactly the way I should be judged. Which, Are we taking the steps to improve the financial markets, create jobs, get businesses to reopen, keep America safe? And that’s what I’ve been spending my time thinking about.” This is truly what Dr. King envisioned. Barack Obama will be judged by the content of his character and not the color of his skin. It is his character and his ability to lead that got him elected to the presidency. We want the president to be judged on results. While his presidency is indeed historic it must still be productive. So the president’s response to this question was dead-on right now the color that affects all Americans is green, and the lack of it. So that is what the president will and should be judged on.

"The Spook Who Sat By The Door"

The worst possible outcome for Republicans is for Limbaugh to become the voice of the new Conservatism. But by picking Steele was a poor attempt to color the republicans as inclusive. We no that Steele is the crab they will use to compete against Obama and the Democrats. Picking people based on there color took place alot during the late sixties. Do the republicans think we don't remember? That was around the time most all the fed agencies needed a dark person after the civil rights movement. Jesus Christ, I did not realize that this party was in that much trouble, but after this move it is quite obvious. You chose a man who has no creditability in the black community, he has zip, none. If you were going to front an African American, you should have chosen one with pull in the minority communities. The Republican Party now wants to get black people to think it's suddenly different because a black man is now the chair of the RNC? Please we "ain't" stupid!

We no that the overwhelming majority of Republicans are white, middle-class, suburban and scared to death of anything beyond their , gated-community but yet they pick a black man to be the head of the RNC. Yeah, they may think it's great and feel all good inside that a black man is head of the RNC --now let that same black man move into their neighborhood, and all you're here is how far the value of their house will drop now that "the neighborhood is going to hell". Micheal Steele is no more than Hannity in black face.
