Hispanic Americans, by contrast, have been nominated for three Cabinet positions, and politicians from that constituency have hailed Obama’s nominations. I do not believe the CBC wanted an all black cabinet but more of diversity to be allowed to sit at the table. Diversity is having the power to make some of the final decisions concerning our issues. Like Education, Housing and Urban Development. I believe these have direct effects on the CBC constituents. That's why I think the article is questioning not getting particular appointments. What do you think? Is there diversity in key departments?

There are talk that some members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) are disappointed that President-elect Obama did not appoint more African-Americans to his Cabinet. I think the article is misleading about why the CBC might not be feeling Obama cabinet. We know that Obama tapped four blacks for Cabinet posts, including Eric Holder. If confirmed, Holder will be the first African-American attorney general. I think the problem is not getting appointments to key departments in the federal government that could drive change immediately. (Article here.)
