The Christian Don't Have To Steal Away To Jesus!

A Maryland high school is in the news and under fire for allowing Muslim students with parental permission and good grades to leave class each day for prayer.  I'm not aware of any other religion that requires its followers to pray five times a day except Islam.  I don't understand what the problem is here.

Some Christians are upset because they aren't allowed to do the same as the Muslin students.  The Christians can pray with eyes wide open, heads up or down , while looking folks in the eyes, staring at a wall, or looking out a window. We have free and unrestricted access to the Throne of Mercy anytime we desire to go there. "We don't have to steal away to Jesus".

I believe as a Christian we clearly have prayer advantages over other religious beliefs in public schools and  anywhere else for that matter. The Christian is not restricted to prayer at prescribed times each day. Christians may pray as Paul taught on three different occasions, “without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17).  This makes me wonder, why do Christians always want- to- be like others? Are we Christians not a unique, specific, radical, distinctive and without equal people?

Welcome Eminem!! On this blog you will never ever, ever see me question a person salvation.....You might see were I have questioned a person's motive and action (which is my opinion) but you will never ever read were I questioned a person's salvation....I have learned a long time ago, we all can be fleshly and carnal at times....but in the end God is the only one with the big picture that tells it all.

Lecrae Boldly Step To The Game About His 'Jesus Piece' Concerns !!!

There's nothing more dear to the heart of God than winning souls for the Kingdom. For some of us the opportunity to personally share the salvation message just never seems to be right, maybe we should consider text messaging  a heartfelt text explaining it.

The Game: I love Jesus and I love The Strip Club But Not Necessarily In That Order!

h/t:1800gospel.
Before going on a sabbatical from church, I was a young adult Sunday School teacher  who had mad  love with a burning desire to teach young people about Jesus. When my hubby and I  return to the church world at the end of the year, I wish to resume teaching young adults. Anyway as a teacher of young adults I have found out "Illustrations"is  one of the greatest tools one can use in teaching young folks. I've learn that a well  Illustrated point is  not quickly forgotten by young people and  they love it.

So when I read the comment Compton rapper "The Game" made in an interview last month in Vibe magazine it  caused me as a Christian to stop and ponder just how my generation have manged to drop the ball in teaching and leading this generation to know  Christ.

Last year in August the game got baptized and started going to church, but still been kinda doing his own thing out in the world” the rapper told the radio personality. He explain why he change the name of his album F.I.V.E: Fear Is Victory’s Evolution to Jesus Piece and how he can't leave the trapping of the world.
“I still love the strip club and I still smoke and drink. I’m faithful to my family, so I wanted to make an album where you could love God and be of God, but still get it poppin’ in your life.” “I’m a Christian but I’m not ‘holier than thou.’ You can still have swag and be a Christian, you ain’t gotta wear a suit to church, you ain’t gotta take a bath in Holy water,” the rapper told Vibe. “You can still have your Ciroc in the club, it’s just a faith thing and making sure you try to do right. I’m still a father, I still smoke, I still rep Compton, I still might shoot dice or have a fight if I have to defend myself.

Crooks and Homos in the Pulpit!

There's a new book out “Crooks and Homos in the Pulpit.”By national talk show host Reuben Armstrong...Who is Essence Magazine # 1 best selling author...He's also the author of “Snakes in the Pulpit." In this book Mr. Armstrong has put T.D. Jakes, Joel Osteen, Eddie Long and Creflo Dollar under fire once again......Talk is that Mr. Armstrong has also come under fire for exposing what he perceives as the lies and deception of ministers, Pastors, church leaders and parishioners.
The book focuses on Mega pastors such as Bishop T.D. Jakes, Bishop Eddie Long, Joel Osteen and Creflo Dollar. Critics are calling Armstrong's book controversial and an a wake up call to the Body of Christ.

Armstrong who held a private conference with some prominent ministers and church leaders to discuss the book and his concerns about the rampant spread of homosexuality and thievery that has taken over the lives of many pastors and ministers.... According to Armstrong, "Crooks and homosexuals are spreading their lies and deception throughout the churches and the community like peanut butter on bread."

“Too many churches have forgotten about saving souls. That's because the pastors and ministers are only thinking about how many women and men they can sleep with inside and outside of the church, and how much money they can steal from God's people," said Armstrong. He also pointed out that pastors and ministers are misleading their congregations by teaching more about prosperity (material things) than about having a personal relationship with God.
I am not one that will purchase or read a book of this type....But I'm sure there are many who will....I also believe that there is an audience out there that will grab it no matter what the contents...How can you make such strong accusations like those without providing substantial evidence to support it? Can't you be sued for that?
Synopsis of the book:
Do church leaders such as Bishop T.D. Jakes, Bishop Eddie Long, Dr. Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, or reported homosexual Pastor Ted Haggard truly understand God's Word? If so, why have they become corporate CEOs, allowing money, greed, and materialism to take over their souls? These leaders are whoring God's people from the pulpit, while teaching legions of pimps, crooks, liars, and homosexuals, who pose as pastors, to follow in their footsteps. In "Crooks and Homos in the Pulpit," author Reuben Armstrong exposes the false doctrine of prosperity and "feel good" message that Mega pastors and Megachurches are using. You will discover what the Bible says about false leaders such as these men and the judgment they face. Armstrong points out that too many churches have become corporate meet and meat markets. Through extensive research, he outlines what really goes on inside the "house of worship." He exposes the shocking lifestyles of prosperity preachers, the sexual favors given in pastoral studies and Sunday School rooms, and the church "hoochie mommas" and "puff daddies" these leaders attract as their groupies.

Gay Marriage Divides Black Religious Leaders

The Rev. Harry Jackson, who pastors a church in the Washington suburbs, believes same-sex marriage is a threat to the African-American family... But the Rev. Michael Eric Dyson, a leading scholar of the African-American experience, disagrees... The two Christian leaders explain their opposing views... Both say their faith informs their perspective...Listen Now!..I'll agree with Dr.Dyson on this and I will give him props for giving a different view by showing that all black Christian are not a monolithic group.

I like the way Dr. Dyson ask how Rev. Jackson could be so sure that his interpretation of scripture is correct - especially since Rev. Jackson tried to convince Black Christians that they should vote against Obama, and said four years earlier that God had told him to campaign for George W. Bush's reelection.

"3rd Sunday" Men's Day (Question) Can You Be A Christian And A Member Of A Fraternity/Soroity?

I think you can. If you are firm in your beliefs, pledging into and organization should not change that. It is important to remember that fraternities and sororities are just like any other organization. They can be used for corrupt means like some churches can be. There are weak-minded people in all organization in which there organization becomes there god. In the Black Church fraternities and sororities are service organization founded on Christian principles. I think that is why the talk was that Dr. King was not a Christian because of his involvement in a fraternity. What do you think about Christian pledging to these organizations (Mason, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, ect....)Can you be a Christian?

"Friday" (Grace & Mercy) Question? Why do we still need Hymns in churchs today?

Because hymns opens our eyes to see Jesus for who He really is. Hymns are wonderful for doing this. Because of the longing to experience God our churches today long for an experience with God, and hymns are some of the richest expression of Christian experience we have. They are a doorway into sensing the truth in our hearts rather than just "knowing" it in our heads. Hymns help us grow up, hymns teach us the rich theology we really need. If we have a limited view of who God is and what the gospel is our experience of it will be limited as well. We link the gospel and it needs to be beat into our heads over and over again! Hymns really stretch us. Hymns are min meditations on the paradoxes of the Gospel that drive us to Jesus. What do you think do we still need hymns in the Church today?
