Should Pastor Gray Step Down And Get Counseling?

Online congregation my heart breaks for Pastor Gray. In spite of whatever we may do, suicide is serious. It is so deep. I pray for him, his family and his ministry. all have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD. I pray that GOD will restore Pastor Gray just as he did for King David. I pray for restoration and forgiveness will overflow in his marriage, well as others who have fallen.  In Jesus mighty name burn out everything that's not like you in his life. In Jesus Mighty Name Hallelujah, Amen!!! Some folks are saying that this was staged, I don't know. What do you think? This took place during Bishop Jakes leadership training January 5, 2019.

  1. Yes he should temporarily step down and get some spiritual help.

  2. Yes, he should step down for a season. He needs to figure out what his true calling is. I will not comment on T.D. Jake's laying hands on the dude, but the stage is doing more harm than good. That is all I have to say.

  3. No, I don't think this was staged. Pastor Gray has been dragged and judged on social media for several things in the past months. I don't know if the devil told him to commit suicide, but it is possible. If he needs or receives counseling, I think it is up to a licensed, certified professional to determine whether he should step down from his position. People can receive therapy and continue their regular duties and activites. I hope all those who have commented on, judged or condemned Pastor Gray will PRAY for him and not shoot our wounded. This too will pass. God will be glorified.

    1. You said "I think it is up to a licensed, certified professional to determine whether he should step down from his position". REALLY? You can't be serious! When it comes to "real church" discipline, the Bible says GOD's people should judge among themselves matters such as these.

You may be right though. When dealing with faux Christians, your advice as it comes from you may just be spot on.

      LOL...

And one more thing, no one is condemning "Passa" Gray. Passa Gray has condemned himself already.

      Delete
    2. The question posed is if he should step down and receive counseling for (implied) suicidal thoughts/urgings.

This is article is not about church discipline.
Whoever "covers" Pastor Gray, his church board or Pastor Gray as directed by God determine whether he steps down for matters where discipline are concerned.

This is about a hurt man.and whether the hurt was self inflicted or from outside forces, seems like True Believers would pray for him as Ms. Ann requested. Oh, it's easier to keep talking, speculating, dragging and condemning than it is to PRAY FOR HIM.

      Delete
    3. I get what the article is about. You said a liscense professional should determine if Gray should step down. I disagree saying the church should. You cant say the article is not about church discipline in one breath, and in another say his board should discipline him
      Make up.yout mind
And another thing, be careful talking about folks speculating when you may have made speculations. I suggest you read Shepherd response to the Chris Hill response about prayer for these folks. She was spot on. You soeculate Gray is a hurt man. I say he is a master manipulator who uses feign words for personal gain and prosperity.

  4. Suicide??? Oh, please...

Okay... If anyone is seriously contemplating suicide over this tells ME, (in my opinion), that there is even more to this than what is already known. The average person--especially a person of faith, would not even consider such a thing simply because of cheating on a spouse and/or a possible out-of-wedlock child. Now, I truly don't want to diminish the seriousness of cheating, etc, but like.... it's not like such situations haven't happened before. C'mon now....

I will tell you what I'd be moving to do-and as SOON as possible; I'd be calling for auditors to do an in-depth investigation. I'd definitely find the TRUE reason for this suicide talking mess! Suicide? LOL! Too many people are watching television and acting out a LifeTime made for television script. There's more to this. And, I posted weeks ago, this matter was only going to grow. Well... look at these growth spurts!

He should immediately step down while there is an ongoing investigation. Depending upon the results of that investigation, would determine what the next step(s) would be.

Finally, did anyone else notice the guy checking his cell phone? C'mon, folks! We all can do MUCH better! Life and living does not revolve around a cell phone. A cell phone is NOT a heart. Put that DAMN thing down and concentrate upon being among the living!

  5. I like it..... I felt like T.D.Jakes was ministering to John Gray's brokenness, hurt and remorse. When Jakes mentioned the SPIRIT of SUICIDE that broke John Gray all the way down......May John Gray learn something from this experience and may this make him a better man, husband and preacher.

  6. I’m sorry y’all.

    But What a JOKE!

    LOL...

So Baby Jakes is now in distress, and who does he run to? Papa Jakes (LOL). Wasn’t he under the leadership and was mentored by his former pastor, Joel Osteen? Why didn’t Baby Jakes seek the PUBLIC STAGE to be restored by Osteen? My guess is there would be way more theatrics with the animated Papa Bear Jakes than the low keyed, non-stirring pitiful Joel Osteen (LOL).

If you really want a show, and have your hearts tugged at and stirred with some deep emotions, call Good Ole Papa Jakes (LOL). I mean… just listen his feigned (false) words as Papa Jakes pump his psycho-babble (NEVER once QUOTING JESUS - And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor - or the BIBLE) because His knowledge is best, and Jesus is just a by-product –

“If we don’t open it up it won’t get better. It’ll just stay bitter and resentful and angry.”

---What is Baby Jakes to open up about? Didn’t he and first lady speak in cryptic tongues that Baby Jakes had sex with a she-devil? This makes NO SENSE at all. My Bible tells me to “Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.”

“Nobody told you it will be like this.”

---- Well you know what? My Bible tells me “the way of the transgressor is hard”.

“I don’t want to open this up in public because I know how deep it is. But the LORD while the anointing is passing by, there is too much anointing in this room for me to minister to everybody else, and leave you festering and festering, especially when the spirit of suicide hangs around your house. Oh...Oh…Oh,.. I call it out.”

---There we go again the mention of the “mystical” anointing in the “atmosphere”. (LOL) UNREAL!
My Bible tells me “Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;”

This garbage will never bring about healing. It will only FESTER MORE SIN!

    LOLOLOLOL…

“You don’t get to run, you don’t get to hide, you don’t get to faint. It’s not a stage that you prayed for. It’s not a building that you prayed for. It’s not an opportunity that you prayed for. You always wanted God to make a man out of you. He’s using this stage / building to make a man out of you.”

---ROTF HILARIOUS!!! I mean seriously? “Make a man out of you?”. The LORD said of HIS about his OWN children (NOT Papa and Baby Jakes – false teachers) "he that work a good work in you will complete it until the end".

“You have always been gifted because you have been broken. And you know how to flow. And you know how to bless everybody. Everybody got your gift, but nobody got YOU! God is using it to touch YOU!”

    I can’t TAKE it anymore!

I’m sorry Ms. Ann. No disrespect. But I am of the camp these people should be marked.

I sympathize with anyone who would seek to take his own life. However I know that the LORD’s words trumps anything that's humane within me. He says about these false teachers -

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and BRING UPON THEMSELVES SWIFT DESTRUCTION."

As far as BABY Jakes stepping down, it really wouldn't matter. The sheeple will just replace him with another wolf. Just look at who took over for Eddie LONG. LOLOLOL...

"A house divided against itself shall not stands" (Truth that can only come from GOD, JESUS CHRIST!)

This Chapter (Papa Jakes Restores Baby Jakes) is CLOSED.

Can't wait for the next one (BABY Jakes Pays Child SUPPORT).

    LOLOLOL... (Sorry Shepherd)

    1. Tyler "Madea" Perry retired to soon. He could make a good stage play / movie out of this ONE!

Any suggestions for a title anyone?

My suggestion is a HORROR movie, to make up for that Madea BOO Crap.

The TITLE - "SHE DEVIL HITS and RUNS"

      or how about

"The Avenger meets the SHE DEVIL"

      or maybe

      "SHE DEVIL frightens BIG BABY"

I wanna hear from YOU a movie and a TITLE. Please keep it PG.

Just having a little fun Ms. Ann. Again I do take suicide SERIOUSLY.

    3. Thank God for His mercy!

The LORD says - "Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:' - And in cases here, life through "PRAYER".

The LORD tells us in Ephesians -

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."

He reiterate in Timothy - "Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear."

YOU DON"T HEAR THE LORD MENTIONING NOTHING ABOUT PRAYER!

If TD JAKES was a REAL Man of GOD, HE WOULD Have REBUKED John GRAY! Instead he did his silly foolishness to mention about the “mystical” anointing in the “atmosphere”, and fed Baby Jakes with the lies God will make a man out of him!

      LOLOLOL...

AND the wise man even said "He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD. WARNING! You better Be careful.

On the other hand, the Bible says "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."

It say "be overtaken in a fault". That means "if he be surprised, seized on without warning, suddenly invaded, taken before he is aware:" None of this applies to Baby Jakes. His sin was deliberate, intentional, planned, and of his own will!

Instead of judging to say, I'm being disagreeable, you serve yourself better by rebuking BABY BEAR!

  7. I’m going to just ignore the theatrics of this for right now.

Personally, I believe any pastor that cheats on his wife shouldn’t be allowed in the pulpit without some mandatory counseling and reflection of who he’s truly trying to serve.

Gray has only been in the spot light for a short time. And his has purchased a $200,000 vehicle, claimed his WIFE is his covering, had a ridiculous talk show with the renown womanizers such as Jamal Bryant and Noel Jones.

Now we found out he step out on his wife?!?!

May be he should step down to find another career. Because truly he can’t handle attention or power that can come with leading a church.

TD Jakes kept talking about the anointing on Grays life and how he had such a awesome anointing.

If someone’s “ANOINTING” is so powerful and life changing, how come it couldn’t stop him from cheating on his wife?

    1. First of all, we don't know the details or the alleged cheating; it's all speculation. We don't know if it was emotional or sexually?

Second, can you name 10 pastors you don't have a problem with?

      Delete
    2. First: Certainly physically cheating is more of a problem but let’s not down play if he emotionally cheated. Although, I suspect if it were just emotional, it wouldn’t be such an array of coverings. (Jakes laying hands, $200k vehicle, him and his wife preaching about it)

      Second:
I am not sure if I even follow or listen to 10 pastors constantly.
And some of the ones I follow are local to me and they have no desire to become Christian celebrities. So even if I gave you their names you probably never would’ve heard of them.

But if you must know. Here are some popular preachers/speakers that I listen to and respect.

      John Piper
      Voddie Baucham
      Tony Evans
      Frank Turek
      Francis Chan

    3. Like if it's going to make a difference if it's "emotional" or "sexual"?

I tell you what...from the way you sound... if you ever thought about coming a pastor...I would have a problem with you as well.

      Delete
    4. Don’t get me wrong emotional and physical cheating are on equal footing. I am saying physically has more problems (STD’s, babies). So I agree with you in that aspect.

Thanks for your input of me pastoring. Not sure if my pastoring has anything to do with the subject at hand.

  8. Miss Ann,

Once again, a show for $$$

    David declared:

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right Spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

After prophet Nathan had pointed out his sin. King David did not hold court infront of his subjects but went to God.

If this was sincere, it should have been done in private. A one on one.

Gray joked about suicide and Jakes prayed about it. And for Jakes to declare that “God is using this stage to make a man out of you [Gray]” is to confirm that ALL of the above was what it was, a great show with a standing ovation.

“Blessed is that man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in he seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:1-4)

Now right there is a certified man!

Jakes and Gray are so used to performance and drama, if they for some reason lost the opportunity to have the cameras follow them or the crowd to applaud them, their life would cease to be meaningful to them.

And joke or no joke, if Gray has the spirit of suicide over his household, it was probably the missus. And here is why:

When she grabbed the mic from him as he was fluffing with the confession, she talked of the enemy approaching her husband as the 16 year old. Gray and the “she devil” had a past. He probably did not have the opportunity to experience a relationship with this lady for unknown reasons. Fast forward, Gray has the “Ways and Means Committee” at his beck and call, he decided to make things happen. Missus saw the change in Gray. The enemy brought out something missus had never seen or could ever bring out - puppy love.

Should I pray for them? No! And here is why:

“Strive to enter in at the strait gate...” (Luke 13:24)

“...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12)

If I am busy praying for a man whose sole purpose is always to be in the limelight one way or the other to maintain the lambo and keep the lights on in his house then I will have no time to read the WORD of God and keep his precepts for MY life.

If Gray et al are truly saved, they would have walked away from the camera lights to live away from the crowd that cheers them on. And they would have had a semblance of normalcy for their marriage and most of all, the kids. And the latter will suffer most from this unending drama.

Unfortunately, like one anonymous said in a previous post, this is not over. John Gray has NOT declared that the side situation is over. His wife was the one running back and forth on the stage talking about the devil don’t want this, but she DID NOT say the devil run away never to return (well... he was right behind her).

    1. I'm with you Shepherd. John Gray has NOT declared that the side situation is over.

Here's a non-original title for a Tyler Perry "stage" play.

"If ya can't love the one ya with, love the one ya want".

When you look at all the exploits of his wife Avanter, I think Ole Boy Baby lacks love there. That side chick may have snagged his heart. You never know.

But all ya'll prayer warriors... Keep right on Praying...

    2. Agreed anonymous!

I see you have the title hashed out. The script came free by way of Gray not wanting to step away from the spotlight.

    1. No one is saying he should sit down because of thoughts of suicide. Many say he should sit because of all the drama. And even if he was indeed suicidal, it would only be practical of any who is concerned, suggest he take a sabbatical. You and your co-signer are trying hard to prove a point. STOP IT!

See how it feels to have your own words used on you?

      I already know the answer.

    3. So tell me, how do you want me to feel using my own words (STOP IT!) against me? Your childish tit-for-tat only reveals the spiritual condition of your heart. I believe it's necessary to tell folk like you here to STOP IT when they perpetuate error.

  10. I don't know. I could be wrong, but all the recent events surrounding this pastor and others is giving me the feeling like it's all scripted. Like they are playing some kind of role in a play to fool the people. I feel truly sorry for the children, who didn't ask for this drama. Why does everyone want to be a pastor? If you just sit down in a pew, the Lord will not love you any less and He can still use you.

  12. OK church - where is the forgiveness and restoration we are supposed to share among each other and our leaders. IT amazes me how we are so quick to dismiss Pastor Gray. Suicide or suicidal thoughts are serious. They need professional help as soon as possible. Yes Jesus heals - but he could be a serious harm to himself or others, if not taken care of. But again, the church doesn't want to deal with mental illness - they're too busy saying the person has a demon and needs deliverance or they don't Jesus. You can know Jesus like the back of your hand but mental illness is a disease just like heart conditions, migraines, cancer, diabetes or any other disease. Just because it's from the head up and not the head down, doesn't mean that it's any less serious. Bishop Jakes was coming to restore a fellow minister. But someone needs to get this man to a doctor and quickly. We thought my mother was playing and when we took her to the doctor she said we were lying and nothing was wrong with her. Two weeks later we found her dead with a mouth full of pills in her mouth. Would Jesus approve of us demeaning Pastor John or praying for his healing and asking his surrounding brothers in the ministry and his wife to get him professional help. Boy Jesus has a lot of cleaning up to do not only with the people in the pulpit but the people in the congregation. If you get a chance watch the movie The War Within. It will be a mind opener for you.

"rebuke them before all, that others also may fear.
