Did The Gospel Community Provide R. Kelly A Hiding Place??

Good Monday morning online congregation, I’ve never really cared for Bishop Marvin Sapp’s music, my husband is one of his biggest fans, I'm not.  My prayer is that one day FINALLY the church, gospel artists, and pastors/bishops stop running up to collaborate with folks like R. Kelly. He should’ve been canceled YEARS ago. But I guess if they cancel him, many would have to cancel themselves. Marvin Sapp “Listen” dropped Sept 29 2017. Why even was this record made?  R Kelly is tied up with a bunch of artists Gospel and Secular. He writes for these people, helps produce their music, as far a Marvin Sapp goes, they had the same band for tours for the longest. Listen in what Sapp had to say to Erica Campbell about not taking R. Kelly off his latest recording.
This is what bothered me the most: “ He goes through some of the stories in the bible, recalling the flawed men that God chose to carry out some of his biggest tasks (like Noah’s ark, for example), and spread important messages. Marvin explains that therefore, it’s not his responsibility to condemn him, only to pray for him.” Marvin Sapp is conveniently leaving out one important aspect of the “flawed” individuals he describes in the Bible. All of those individuals acknowledged their sins and repented for them...meaning they turned away from their ways. This was all about money as usual. Kelly is an active predator in our society that is still ruining the lives of young women and their families and has not come close to stopping this sick behavior of his. Sapp is another Church going money sell out.

  1. Miss Ann,

    Yes they did.

The sermons $$$, the record deals $$$

Kelly had me at “🎵 heaven I need a hug, is anybody out there willing to embrace a thug 🎶”

Now I know better, Kelly and the gospel community wanted us to accept and/or ignore his flaws.

If they turn against him, they lose their bags💰

Thank God I came out of the “church” as it stands today because I do not need to partake of their sin NO MORE!

“Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.” (Ephesians 5:6-7)

“...Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)

    1. So what’s wrong with Marvin Sapp making a song with him? You can’t just stop talking to someone because of what they are. Call R.Kelly whatever you’d like but his work has nothing to do with what happened. If it happened we will never know the truth. Everyone has their own story. R.Kelly has plenty of gospel hits but because a gospel singer is talking to him it’s wrong.

    2. RIGHT. Some of us are really not concerned about R Kelly's soul and his singing gospel. We only criticize him in our because he violated little girls. We sin everyday just like R Kelly. There is no Big sin or Little sin. When we come against this man, we do so in PRIDE. And we know what God said about PRIDE that it is an abomination. It's not singing gospel, violating children, or any of the sins anyone of us commit that will put us into heaven or hell. It is the hearing of the word of God, and believing it by faith, he died for us all. If R Kelly, Marvin or even YOU are not saved, hell will be your final place.

    3. There is a reason why the bible alludes to the fact that it is a curse to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, stand in the way of sinners, and sit in the seat of the scornful (Psalm 1). These evil ways are bound to rub off on men like Marvin who claim to be saved. Or may be they are not saved? Thus being comfortable in the company of such a one, i.e. R. Kelly.

    4. Let's be honest. They serve the same God. A house divided can not stand.

  2. It’s NOT HIS RESPONSIBILITY TO CONDEMN R.KELLY?!?!

    Is this Knee-grow serious?
This is a foolish and dangerous statement for any minister to make.

It should be EVERY CHRISTIANS RESPONSIBILITY to call out crimes and wrong doing. This world would be much worse if we all (Christians and non-Christians) took Marvin’s attitude.

As a minister of the Gospel IT SHOULD BE his responsibility to call out wrong doing ESPECIALLY if it’s involving young girls.

As a minister of the gospel IT SHOULD BE his responsibility to AT LEAST protect the lives of the children that R. Kelly has (and continues) to destroy.

As a minister of the gospel he SHOULD BE spreading the message that we wouldn’t compromise and collaborate with ANYBODY simply to make a buck and sell some records.

    1. Most of these so called ministers, singers, preachers, etc, are NOT a real true preacher of the gospel. They can't condemn the ungodly, because if they did, they wouldn't be famous anymore, they wouldn't be invited on the t.v shows or movies anymore, they can't make their money, etc. Many people only do gospel, because they couldn't make it in the secular world. It's so much mess in the so called "church" it's ridiculous...

  4. First of all, Jesus said, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone."
Therefore, no one has the right or room to condemn anyone.
We are to wash each other with the word as we see fit. Bishop Sapp isn't R. Kelly's Pastor.
    Everybody mindset isn't the same.
The 1st thing we are to do is to pray for our brothers and sisters.
Yes, show them the word, when they're overtaken in a fault. If they don't listen, apply, or take heed, it is on them.
It is up to them to change and get saved. While we're all still breathing, we have a chance and time to get things right.

  5. St. Matthew 7:1 Jesus says, not to judge.
After anybody has been convicted of any type of sin, Acts 2:38 is the way to salvation.
We all have to repent daily for something.

  6. We must stop this, we don't have to condemn Sapps.. Both of their music has lifted and healed us..Let it continue to do that!! Now, I loved Kelly for many years and he is def. a genius. But he MUST go to jail, I wish someone would have made him get help, as he to was abused. I'm so torn but we should make sure this never happens again. If you see something say something.
