So Pastor John Gray Out Here Trying To Explain His Attendance With #45.

With all due respect Mr. Gray, you should have listen to your beautiful wife. You praying without relevant actions, and not speaking truth to power is a perversion of the gospel! Speak up! Be truthful! This was a photo op and you know darn well it was, you accomplished nothing, you could’ve prayed at your home.  I hear your heart, and believe you are sincere, but maybe the “MLK misquote” in the prayer while sitting next to a Racist and Narcissist raised questions. Once again GREAT PHOTO OP!

Comments

  1. I’m not with it!
I love pastor Gray. He’s an incredible teacher & preacher but yesterday they did absolutely NOTHING but comment on how Donnie has “helped” with prison reform. But what about the stuff he hasn’t done? The people he hasn’t helped? I get the prison reform but they each had a time to speak on something and all they did was just say how good he’s done. ‍♀️ Keep your day job, sir & dont do that again.

    1. Anonymous they could have done those things without meeting with Trump. Obviously, John have a sizeable congregation and if as he say he's non political, why meet with this buffoon who has a long history as a racist and has shown it in so many ways. He and the others are perceived as being payed and played for the coming 2018 election

  2. I read that silly excuse, still don’t think he should have went because POTUS neither committed or signed anything for the prison population! Just photo op. Take note Kim Kardashian left with a commitment to look into it and pardon if he agreed! She got! What did the church get with not being able to ask questions?

  3. The Internet PreacherThursday, 02 August, 2018

Ms. Ann John Gray is gaslighting his congregation in this video. He was not there for criminal justice reform. He was there because he wanted a picture next to the president, because he is greedy, ambitious self though that would be good for his brand. That's it. He wanted the appearance of proximity to power. If God brings you into the presence of an unjust authority and you don't speak truth to power, you failed your mission. Period.
Another note, this man prayed to "bless everything [Trump] puts his hands to do." So bless the ripping apart of families at the border, bless the emboldened white supremacy that has increased hate crimes, bless that stupid border wall, bless bullying national and international leaders on Twitter. That is white supremacy at its peak and has nothing to with criminal justice reform.
Granted I believe that people who preach about women more than they preach about men are doing it wrong from jump. Suffice it to say John Gray is a joke, and a cancelled joke at that.

  4. Hit Gray where it counts! Stop giving him money.

What prison reform? This was nothing more than an Photo-Op just like everything else. Under Trump the "for-profit" prison has boon! The stocks are hitting record highs. And, who do you think are the ones being arrested to populate them?

"One winner under Trump: The private prison industry"--The U.S. prison population has been falling for several years, reaching its lowest imprisonment rate since 1997, amid a sharp decline in violent crime. But that isn't ending the good times for the private-prison industry. It's a remarkable turnaround for an industry that less than two years ago was on track to be phased out from use by the federal government, which at the time cited declining prison populations and reforms for its decision. A month after President Trump was inaugurated, the Justice Department backtracked and said it would continue to use private prisons. "

"Leaked Memo Reveals Trump’s Gift to Private Prison Companies--Prison companies that backed Donald Trump during the presidential campaign and gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to his inaugural committee just got another boost from his administration. The Bureau of Prisons will now transfer more inmates from government-run lockups to private facilities, according to a memo sent to department staffers last week, as the agency prepares to cut federal correctional jobs."

GET INFORMED BROTHERS & SISTERS! And, spread the word!

  5. THIS IS A LOAD OF CRAP!!!! Period!!! They took pictures and praised his works that have been questionable not by his moves but by the senators and houses suggesting! Prayer was 2 mins tops! What else happened in that meeting other than anything they could have just freakin tweeted!!!!
And they think they are gonna have another meeting to discuss what? What all of America has been saying and what he already knows! There is no heart in this! In this is somebody trying to save they’re reputation of a thriving church and a critical country on life support! Jamal Bryant said it best! At the table was Chairs with no legs!

  6. It occurs to me Ms. Ann that what God MAY have wanted John to do was go to the meeting and be like the prophet Amos and speak truth to power, but instead John sat his fat face silent and let the show go on. Oh my! When he left and went home, did he ask God if he did what His will was for him to do? Just asking!

  7. His wife was absolutely right. He was dead wrong.

I posted this earlier on another friend’s page who knows John Gray personally - Even if he wants to meet with you about something positive (in this case, faith-based initiatives to reduce recidivism), ask yourself, am I the person who should be meeting with him on this topic? Has he shown himself to be trustworthy on this or any topic related to my community?

He’d have to do and undo a whole lot before I’m coming to any meeting. How are we talking prison reform with children sitting in cages at the border?

    1. I agree with all the comments that that this was nothing more than a photo op. Most of the pastors complimented and thanked 45. It was like they were licking 45's boots. I agree that the pastor's missed a prime opportunity to speak truth to power. Maybe they felt intimidated being at the White House and among the other big-name pastors. Even if the meeting was called to discuss prison reform, seems like there must have been a way to insert a sentence or two in about other issues.

I feel the pastors were used and some of them probably don't realize it yet or won't realize it. If there was no action taken, it was a photo op. The comments of some of the pastors gave me the impression that they are his supporters.

The big question in my mind is if the pastors try to connect with 45 or his administration about other matters, what response will they get? Will they have access? Or, will they be put on the shelf until it's time for the next photo op?

  8. "I feel the pastors were used and some of them probably don't realize it yet or won't realize it."

That's why we are here. It's why we need to help them and remind these charlatans who they serve and who they report to. It's just the "Christian" thing to do...

Let's be clear here... we already KNOW that nothing will come of this. How do we know this, you ask? Well... it's happened every other time before with this Administration! HBCU'S? Opioid Crisis? Women? on and on... These are NOTHING but Photo-Ops. These people believe that they KNOW, (and don't have to think much about it), that we Americans are lazy, uneducated, and docile. They believe that we won't make the effort to discover the TRUTH for ourselves.

But oh, how wrong they are... What they don't know is that their time up...

This Administration may have THOUGHT they knew who we are but they don't. Many of us can research, read, write, speak, organize, etc... Some of those skills might be a bit rusty but like riding a bike you don't forget how to do it. Therefore... call this "meeting" for the BS that it is. Speak out against the participants. And, SPEAK LOUDLY for what we want! But, most importantly VOTE! And, bring everyone that you can think of to vote with you too.

  9. President Trump needs true children of the most high God to pray for him. So, I agree with Pastor Gray's statement. But, speaking from a carnal mind, if I was John Gray, I would have gone for the photo op, too. Despite how we feel about this administration, Mr. Trump is the United States President, the most powerful earthly position. Plus, Pastor Gray's church is in a red state. He may get more members because of this meeting.

    1. I think you need to research this before you spout off untruths. Now, I'll agree that there is room to debate if the Obama Administration could have done more for the Black community but to think that nothing was done is 100% false. Start with this and then work your way from here;

  10. John Gray told us on Sunday that the church needed a new air unit. He said it costs $800,000. Two weeks ago the church needed $75,000 for an audio board. It all makes sense now. He really went half on the baby with Tr*mp for a check.

  12. You know Pastor everything that you're saying is great that's not the point this man doesn't give a damn about prison reform we got young men being killed by cops and he says nothing, matter of fact he tells the cops to be more rougher on them, and then he sits around a bunch of Pastor. Pastor gray tell me this one thing and be honest what did he say after the meeting about helping those prisoners how is he going to help them he conned all of y'all and he's using Paula White to pull y'all in and he got all y'all next time ask God for more discernment.

    1. BULLSHIT! Excuse me Miss Ann and everyone, but this just makes me SO ANGRY! Now, I'll readily admit that I am NOT a Trump supporter or of this Administration BUT I'm a believer in objective discussion, debate, and listening to solutions. That didn't happen here at this meeting. Who walked in with proposals? Who was representing the Administration besides Trump and his son in law? Where was Ben Carson, Linda McMahon, Mick Mulvaney, and a few more? Where were the experts that could speak to the issues?

      This was nothing more than a trap set for 25-30 egotistical blowhards to walk right into--and they did. They came with no proposals and didn't really discuss any proposals. Is anyone here familiar with the First Step Act? Anyway, some references for everyone;

  14. The sad thing is THE CHURCH is concerned with the wrong thing.
How can we be a light to the world and we are just as blinded as they are?
Trump is not who we need to be worried about.
You see all these elections and those who are running in these elections?
THOSE are the people we need to be concerned with.
THOSE are the people who will be truly making laws, writing laws and pushing laws that affect us.
The President only has the power to sign or veto.
These new politicians that are being put in place now have no knowledge of God or who He is, they refute and disregard scripture and they hate Christianity.
    Keep being distracted by Trump.
Mark my words after Trump this country is going straight to hell.

  15. People are showing their racism by being racist towards the sitting president. Black Preachers/Pastors have been meeting with presidents before Trump without getting anything for our communities and not a word of disproval. Black Preachers/Pastors met multiple times with Barack Obama and did not get anything for our communities, yet no one spoke up except Cornell West and Tavis Smiley. But now some Black Preachers/Pastors met with President Trump and all hell breaks loose. Come on people.
