Dr. Matthew Stevenson Is This A Men’s Only Summit? If Not Then Why The Line Up Is ONLY Male?

Online congregation, social media is calling Dr. Matthew Stevenson to the carpet for having an all male church summit. Why are women speakers apparently excluded from most Christian conferences (except those exclusively for women)?

If you’ve never noticed the lack of diversity in Christian conference speaker rosters or believed it to be a problem, it might be because the stories sound like yours and the people think like you. So if you’re a man and you’ve never seen an all-male conference lineup and thought, that’s problematic, you might want to think deeply about why you don’t notice the absence of women speakers in Christian contexts.

The World Changers Summit began as the vision of Drs. Matthew L. and Kamilah Stevenson, the Founders of All Nations Worship Assembly, back in 2006.
Initially, Dr. Stevenson sought to establish a national convocation where once a year, the churches comprising All Nations Network (formerly known as the Gate Network) would convene for a time of refreshing, sharpening, and direction.
Now 12 years later, the World Changers Summit has evolved into a premier conference, nationally recognized and attended by thousands. What is often said by those that have attended WCS is that it was the conference that “changed everything” for them. At this conference, you will be equipped in practical ministry, receive prophetic impartation, and most importantly, be empowered to be a World Changer!
So the question remains why ain't no women involved??

  2. Like it or not, but there are MANY men who believe and use 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 as their justification of this. I don't know what the counter argument is, but below are those verses;

34 women are to be silent in the churches. They are not permitted to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35 If they wish to inquire about something, they are to ask their own husbands at home; for it is dishonorable for a woman to speak in the church

    1. Exactly... I am not a Christian but I find it remarkable and hypocritical that women and men who are believers use scripture for their own prurient interests and to condemn others. The minute the scripture doesn't suit them they disregard the bible. Just nuts!

  3. Not agreeing with it nor disagreeing with it, but wasn’t Bishop T.D. Jakes, Manpower Conferences was all male speakers? If so, why is his conference any different? I agree, all these Convocations, conferences, Summits, whatever they names them these days, are all about the Benjamin’s. I asked AIM of COGIC, they were broadcasting on FB about the weeks activities. It was about 10 minutes long. I sat and wasted my time listening, and not once did they mention how many souls were saved, delivered and healed. So I asked them about it? I asked if no one life was changed, what really did they accomplish? Since that’s what it’s suppose to be about. Instead of answering me, they removed my question. But it’s ok, because many just like me, are fed up with all the stage lights, and the smoke. If no souls are saved, you’ve wasted your time and money. That’s what it was and should yet be about, is the LOST SOULS.

    1. Come on Janice lets be honest here Bishop Jakes do promote his conference with accuracies....if it's his men conference he say "MANPOWER" conference, if it's his women conference he say 'Woman Thou Art Loose" conference, If it's his PASTOR and LEADERSHIP conference he called it what it is.

  4. Bernice White, I was being honest! I don’t think you understood what I said.

  5. Bernice, maybe Jakes can cut the chase and just call it "False Teaching Conference", because HE IS a false teacher.

  6. Jakes Manpower conference started in 1994. He brought a female in for the first time to The all male conference in September of 2010. Sheryl Brady was the first female to speak at his conference. My point Ms White was, again if Jakes had His Manpower conference with no female speakers, why is it such a problem for Stevenson to do it now? Not defending neither one of them. I don’t believe in all the hoopla of these money makers, I mean conferences.

Janice I get what you are saying but, what I'm saying is that Jakes conferences are label "Men or Women"....but Dr. Stevenson summit/conference are not label as either.

  7. It’s probably opened to the public, but he chose to have all male speakers. That shouldn’t be an issue, because what Stevenson is looking at, is the offering buckets! Lolol

  8. Given the lineup, he is going for the offering plate, since he has to rent the arena. This has nothing to do with an all-male lineup, he needs bodies to fill those seats.

  9. In order for the leaders to get the money they want they need to lead with these men.
This conference will draw single, oftentimes lustful women married and unmarried) who actually have the true financial power in the church today- and if we are honest they have ALWAYS had the financial power in the church.
You think all the women in his church go there because of his word?!
    I doubt that heavily.
    Look at what he wears?
Trust me he has some lustful spirits BOTH MEN AND WOMEN in there ready to pounce on that- if they haven' already.
To be honest- something seems to be off honestly with him but I am reserving my thoughts.
No disrespect and not trying to talk about him negatively, but my discernment is rarely, very rarely wrong.
    Especially in this area.
I was telling people about Bishop Eddie Long in the mid-90's and no one believed me.

    1. Chance Marq, I feel ya! Every since I saw him and his cohorts at some conference he was hosting, they were all in each other’s space giggling like school yard girls, and the females walking and looking like males. His “brand” whatever that is, it’s been tarnished!

    2. Chance Marq, I definitely agree with your assessment of Stevenson. He is s powerful speaker, but he is not modest in his choice of attire. There will be a scandal with him putting himself out thrth in a lustful way.

  10. Well be a Male or Female conference I continue to find myself thinking aren't we near the point of conference fatigue?
