Do You Think Justice Was Served In The Kamiyah Mobley Kidnapping Case?

On Friday June 8, 20018 Gloria Williams who kidnapped a new born baby, Kamiyah Mobley, from a Jacksonville Florida hospital, 18 years ago, was sentenced to 18 years in prison. People are having mixed emotions about the sentence because Ms. Williams calm demeanor... I think if she were the stereotypical kidnapper, rugged looking, mean and not soft spoken people would not be so forgiving of her.

Now, personally I get it, justice had to be served in some form or fashion, it may even be due, but does this really help anyone? Not at all!  After all, Gloria is the only mother Kamiyah Mobley really knows. There really are no winners and what’s even more tragic is that Kamiyah has grown to love her kidnapper.

  1. Seems justified to me.

She kidnapped a infant and changed the course of the child and the REAL mother (and family) life forever. Time that can never be reclaimed.

If you asked me 18 years is a light punishment.

And I don’t give her ANY CREDIT because she raised the child well. She may be well spoken, educated and a good (FAKE) mother, but she is still a kidnapper of an infant from its mother.

As you stated. No one wins in this BECAUSE of the kidnapper and she should serve accordingly.

    1. I agree with you here. Can anyone possibly imagine the pain and life that the original birth mother and father have gone through with such a tragedy always constant in their life?

    2. COP, you are confusing. First you said it seemed justified. Then you said "If you asked me 18 years is a light sentence".

      Make up your mind.

  2. NO JUSTICE WASN'T SERVED. SHE HAD A BETTER LIFE WITH MRS.WILLIAMS THAN SHE WOULD HAVE HAD WITH THE BIRTH MOTHER. WHO HAS SEVERAL OTHER CHILDREN OUT OF WEDLOCK WITH DIFFERENT BABY DADDY'S. WHO IS MENTALLY UNSTABLE AND RECEIVING GOVERNMENT ASSTIANCE . HER PARENTAL FAMILY ISN'T MUCH BETTER .

    2. Well we will NEVER know if she were better off because the birth mother never got the chance. We can ASSUME, but people’s lives can change for the better sometimes.

      You say justice wasn’t served?!?!
SHE STOLE A CHILD FROM ITS MOTHER!!! What country do you live in where kidnapping children ISN’T a crime?

And if your suggesting people should kidnap children from their mothers because “WE THINK” we can give them a better life, I have to question your sanity and judgement from both (wink wink) of you.

    3. No one is saying they know exactly how this young lady's life would have turned out. Just that the odds being raised in a family where dysfunction persist would have ruled against how she turned out. To question one's insanity here is a bit much.
