You Don't Say, White Evangelicals Are the Group Least Likely to Think the U.S. Should Help Refugees!

Are we surprised by this new study which has found that there is no group more opposed to admitting refugees into the United States than white evangelicals? The real sin of Sodom. The one no conservative Evangelical Christian wants to remember.

"Pew Research Center has released the findings of a study that has found that slightly more than half of Americans—51 percent—believe that the United States has a responsibility to welcome refugees into the country. However, when they broke down opinions by demographic, one group stood out as an outlier for how strongly they oppose refugees: White evangelical Protestants. They were the least likely group out of those surveyed to say that the U.S. should help them.

I so agree with Devotions for Liberals following comment:

For decades, agencies like Compassion International, World Vision and World Relief have urged evangelicals to care about the poor and vulnerable, and I think the average church member was mildly receptive. But sometime in the 90s, people like Rush Limbaugh caught the ear of evangelicals and convinced them not to care, and in fact to mistrust The Other and to denigrate anyone who advocates for them. The voices of fear have drowned out the commitment to compassion. How tragic.

  1. Hello. Have you read the Jewish and Biblical accounts of Sodom and Gomorrah?

    Here is a link.

    1. Nah. Sodom and Gomorrah was not destroyed because of "hospitality sins". Gen 19 clearly says "And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them." Get it. HOMOSEXUALITY. That's Bible. It trumps of the stories the Talmud imagines.

  2. I don't believe anything that comes from Pew Research Center about white evangelicals. It's obvious they are bias. I don't believe the lie Devotions for Liberals (the name should tell you about them) Rush Limbaugh bent the ears of evangelicals. Ministries like Compassion International is stronger than ever. My church have a COMPASSION SUNDAY where local Compassion Leaders visit to give us a report every other month. My small church sponsors 4 children and has been doing so for about 10 years now.

White evangelicals have always been involved in helping the poor - DOMESTIC and INTERNATIONAL. Ministries like Helping Hands Ministry, Water Project, Help Without Hurting, Cross International, Mercy Ship, Samaritan House. and on and on and on. Not to mention, individual denomination that conduct their own ministries. All this bias knock against white evangelicals is a BUNCH of GARBAGE. Until folks running Pew Research Center show that their records matches any or part of what "white evangelicals" are doing, I call them as Christ, the MOST COMPASSIONATE ONE would say about them, THEY ARE HYPOCRITES at the highest level!!!

And about refugees, this is America and NOT Israel. It's obvious the IGNORANCE of the foolish individual who wrote this article in the name of Pew Research Center, quoting Scriptures all over the place and out of CONTEXT. When it come so refugees coming to America, it's the policy holders who make that decision. I suggest one read facts about US Refugee Settlement produced by the Migration Policy Institute to get a feel about this country's dealings with refugees. According to the Institute, The United States runs the world's largest refugee resettlement program. When the US was called upon to welcome more Syrian refugees, the Obama administration announced its intention to raise the annual ceiling on U.S. refugee admissions to 85,000 in 2015. This compared to Germany who had a seal of 800,000.

So if Pew Research Center is really concerned about refugees and running numbers, they may want to take a look at the policies on this country and point out its shortcomings. They will not so that however because the folks who runs their Center get their paychecks in hand by the GOVERNMENT who feeds them.

Why anyone would take seriously the devil's children claim against God's people is UNBELIEVABLE to me. BE Careful ALL, not to STRENGTHEN the hands of the WICKED just because God's people SIN because BOTTOM line ALL OF US Sin and STAND in NEED of HIS MERCY EVERYDAY!!
