Dr. Matthew Stevenson Apologize To Every Church Musician, It's Not Easy Dealing With Church Folks!!

So this is the video from yesterday that’s been causing all the uproar online. I admire Dr. Stevenson teachings but I admire him even more for this.
I grew up in an era where musician couldn't play at church and or the secular at the same time. I agree too often the music ministry is treated as a resource and not people...then judged harshly for not being "perfect."

  1. How in the world can he apologize for all shepherds? This is no message. This is COMPLETE SHADE. If he believes he as a Pastor should pay his musicians, then he should ADDRESS that ONLY with his musicians and should do so PRIVATELY! I know given his stature as an 'apostle" and all the speaking engagement he is getting paid to conduct, he can afford to pay his musicians out of his own pocket. And I noticed he slipped in their "sexuality" in his RANT. It's obvious this cat is pro gay. I believe what Elder Carter said about him is TRUE.

    1. You sound like you Butt hurt . And another thing I believe you are a troll. This is why i appreciate Dr Matthew L Stevenson III’s Ministry..

  2. He's TOTALLY on point. So many leaders have pimped their musicians gifts and left their souls in the balance...

  3. Musicians are the only people in church that are not considered "sheep" . Church members can make mistakes and get off track and the leaders will pray for them get them help and everything..., but when musicians make those same mistakes..,we're put on blast and sometimes replaced by the next week. We get no council, no guidance, and oftentimes are left struggling mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It must stop !!!

    1. Musicians in church are treated worse than the sheep- and that’s not saying much. Instead of talking about church hurt let’s talk about poor Pastorship! Wait a minute, that doesn’t exists either! God bless Dr. Matthew Stevenson.

  4. What Pastor Apostle Dr. Matthew L Stevenson did this pst Sunday, needs to be done by every Pastor and Leader of a Ministry. This is truly being a Pastor and Shepherd to the Flock God has called you to lead. I applaud Pastor Stevenson for what he did. God bless Pastor Stevenson. And some of you Pastor wonder why certain Churches or Ministries grow the way they do,,,,Follow Apostle Stevenson's Lead and maybe, just, maybe you'll see a difference in your Church and/or Ministry!!!!

  5. Ms 1st. Lady. It was no need to say I sounded like I was butt hurt. It's language like that that causes strife and makes it unenjoyable reading certain comments. You sound like that fellow GET OUTTA HERE.

I only stated my opinion. Each church is run differently. It not this man's right to repent for other pastors and churches how they administer their funding. A lot of these churches can't even afford to pay their pastors, yet alone their musicians. And to be honest, where does it stop? Should we pay deacons, and secretaries, and ushers.and Sunday School teachers, and nursary workers? IJS.

  6. Yes, I agree with Anonymous! No disrespect to the Apostle, but he CANNOT speak for all pastors. We all have to realize that to whom much is "given" much is required, and to whom much is required much will be "given" Not only by man, but the God who says He's not unrightous to forget our labor of love and whatever is right He will pay. I remember the late Bishop K. Moles once said, cash follows commitment. The bible tells us, be not weary in well doing, for in due season we will reap if we faint not. It also says the faithful man shall abound with blessings and it includes money and what money can't buy. There is a "season" when we as God's servants are "Made and not Paid". Then the money cometh! God bless us all and may
we do all, as unto the Lord and continue to serve Him with gladness and with all our hearts, and not let anyone make us feel like a victim when it comes to serving God, with the gift He gave us. Heartily as unto the Lord and not man!!! What a privilege and honor, it's a matter of right perspective!

  7. EXACTLY my point Anonymous! It's no way this man should consider himself to be an apostle. He definitely is displaying to be puffed up he think he can repent for all pastors. This is like Kirk Franklin apologizing to the gays for all Christianity. I really believe individuals like these are egomaniacs.

    2. Anonymous you might want to consider falling back with the comments. You’re not going to make this an attack against Dr. Stevenson, I admire him and his teaching. I don’t want my comment section full of negativity. It was a good thing he did.

    3. No problem Ms. Ann. I was just stating my opinion. I am a member of a small church and we can't afford to pay a musician. Our musician is talented and he loves his ministry. He puts his time in choir rehearsal and for a group of 5 they can sing with the best of them. I wasn't trying to be negative. I think a lot of these folk in these leadership position cross the line sometimes. That's all.

    4. Ms. Ann. This is another ANONYMOUS. I read the post you replied to. Please tell me, why do you consider what was said you considered an attack on Dr. Steverson, especially when the person prefaced his comment "no disrespect to the Apostle"?

  9. First Of All There Is No Hierarchy In The Body Of Messiah Such As "Apostles, Pastors, Bishops, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers, Etc. So You Need To Go Back And Study Scripture. An Apostle Is Not The Head Of The Body Of Messiah, Only Messiah Is The Head. Mr. Stevenson, Needs To Study Scripture As To What The Position And The Work Of An Apostle Is. An Apostle Establishes Assemblies Where There Are None And Where The Gospel Of Yeshua Is Not Known. So Many In The "Christian Church", Take Scripture So Far Out Of Text. Enough Said, It Amazes Me How Musicians Don't Get Paid Or They Do Get Paid For Their Work In Churches. It Should Be A Private Agreement Between The Musicians, Elders And Leaders. Mr. Stevenson Should Attend To His Musicians Only. The Holy Spirit Did Not Tell Him To Say What He Said. Shalom
