Pastor John Gray "you don't marry for passion, you marry for purpose".

Reader how many people do we know who married based off physical attraction exclusively and it didn’t work out? Could one of the reasons be because God never intended for marriage to only meet our physical desires, but to produce our intended purpose.

Anyhow last month Pastor John Gray joined the Sister Circle ladies for table talk and shared thoughts on marriage, dating and the power of self worth. He explained marrying for passion exclusively versus God’s purpose and how it's always a short sighted transaction. DON'T GET ME WRONG! YOU WANT TO HAVE BOTH AND YOU CAN AND SHOULD HAVE BOTH! But don’t sacrifice purpose for passion alone.

  1. I think this dude is DL.
However, he has learned from Bishop Jakes- speak to the women, their issues, their wants and their needs and you got their attention and their pocketbooks.

    1. Not sure about the DL part (LOL). He confessed he was molested as a child, so there me some issues going on there. But I'm with you somewhat. He does cater to women, at least for instances like these. I think his message should be to women "never to marry for selfish gains". A woman's aim in marriage should be to put her husband and her children before herself. I tell my sons all the time, listen to the words that comes out of these girl's mouths. If the tone of her speech is about her career, what she expects from him, her personal goals without his input, her bad attitude about her mother and father and siblings...RUN. "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks". If they are to marry, make sure the young lady is a Christian, and speak in terms of becoming one with her husband, If she nags before she gets married, she will taking that nagging spirit onto the altar and bring it into your home.

IMHO...I believe all the rhetoric and clichés by Pastor GRAY is actually doing more harm than good. Pastor Gray and TD JAKES have WAY TOO much to say about WOMEN. I wonder the spirit in these "so called Christian men", when it's SO OBVIOUS the BIBLE states, "The older women teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Why any woman would sit under their ministry is BEYOND ME!

There is a feminist movement out there that has negatively influenced women, especially BLACK women. I tell my boys not to believe their LIE, that a good man is hard to find. Fact of the matter is A GOOD WOMAN is HARD to FIND. She is RARE like a precious jewel.
