Does The Black Church Exploit Women And Children For Its Own Purposes?

Reader I found the above and below flyers in one of my favorite Facebook groups. While many large religious organizations in the United States allow women to be ordained – and to hold leadership positions within the organization – few women have actually served at the very top.

Over the last 20 years there has been a major shift in church leadership with the rise of first lady as co-pastor and with the overall administration of the church. It appears that most of the men who I see in leadership are just a face, but the women are running the show( hint early post).

Women played an important role in the earliest days of Christianity. Jesus of the Bible spoke directly to women and refused to treat them differently from men. The gospels portray them as disciples during Jesus’ ministry and the first witnesses of the resurrection. They’re mentioned in Paul’s letters as the leaders of house churches and missionaries in their own right.

So in 2018 the question remains does the black church exploit women and children for it's own purposes??

  1. No. The Black Church does not exploit woman and children,

    1. Amen. Most Black churches encourages women and children towards growth and services. Many of these churches have ministries for women to meet in small groups where they can come and share according to the WORD of God their walk and experiences. Children ministries ranges from YOUTH Groups, Children Church, Youth Programs, Educational and Tutors, Sunday School, Bible Memory, VBS, and many more. The Black Church definitely does not EXPLOIT women and children.

  2. Church leadership is for MEN! That's Bible! Any other way is a work of the FLESH!

  3. In God we are neither male nor female and hence forth know we no man after the flesh! Promotion comes from God and our time has come. The bible states, in the last days, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and daughters shall prophecy and I will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies. Sis just stay faithful, our time has come AND you anit seen nothing yet, as the Kingdom of God will advance in our day without gender, racial and economical discrimination. Let the Real Church say Amen!!!

    1. You have misconstrued scripture. Please read Acts 213-21 in context to understand scripture.

    2. Correct Ira Ayers. They always want to use those verses, especially the "neither male nor female" One where Paul specifically is talking about salvation being available to ALL. Next they will come saying DEBROAH was a judge. HOW SAD people can't rightly divide the WORD of GOD.

  4. I checked out the flier for the E.K. Bailey conference and they do two female pastors as speakers/facilitators. The reason for the all male fliers may have something to do with space. You can only put so many pictures/images on a flier and still make it presentable. I believe it was not a slight, they just have to be strategic in marketing these conferences.

    1. "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."

  5. The black church does not exploit women and children however some are used but they allow themselves to be used.
Next, I do not believe in women pastors and there is nothing that can be said that will change that.
God created man to be the head and that is all there is to that.
Lastly, we need to stop using the church to push social agendas.
The ONLY agenda the church is supposed to be pushing is the agenda of the Bible; holiness, sanctification and truth.
