Why Did Gospel Great Tye Tribbett Back Out Of Tonight's Casino Concert With Fred Hammond and Marvin Sapp??

Reader, I don't know exactly what's going on here but the following announcement was posted to Tye Tribbett fan page:

It was our desire that TYE TRIBBETT would be there to worship with you 11/4 but due to the decisions of the organizers/promoters of this event, we were unable to do so. We made every attempt to fulfill this ministry assignment but the circumstances surrounding our participation were beyond our control and the Organizers were not responsive in trying to ensure our attendance. Any concerns regarding refunds for ticket sales and etc should be directed to the contact information listed on the flyer. We look forward to the opportunity to share in worship with you in the near future. We love you INDIANA/ILLINOIS!!

Should Christian artists host concerts at venues that has gambling and drinking? What do you think?

  1. Maybe, he did not feel comfortable performing in a casino. I would not say a christian is going to hell performing in a casino but.....If I was singer, I wouldn't. Some things, I wouldn't say you going to hell, but I would say it's inappropriate. Just my opinion. don't have to agree.

  2. Oh he felt comfortable performing in a casino. The issue was money......funny how "worship" (as they put it) comes with such a high price tag and if the price ain't met, I guess we won't be "worshipping" with the concert attendees. Oh and if you want a refund on the "worship" you paid for. ..don't contact us..instead contact the people at the bottom of the flyer in fine print......

  4. Artists should perform at venues such as casinos as long as they keep Jesus as the center of their message. Being "out of the box" (in a Biblically correct way) will reach individuals who would otherwise not set foot in the church. When pastors held services in nightclubs across the country, those venues closed due to the strong conviction of the Holy Spirit. This is because the message was at the forefront of their outreach. For me, it would take a serious season of prayer before I commit to performing at a casino. After that, it would be a "no-go" for me because I do not want to expose myself to any spirits which would compromise my Christian walk. Another reason is the "21 and over" policies of casinos, which are in place by legislative fiat. As one commenter has put it, it was about the money and not souls entering the Kingdom of God. But, this is my personal view.
