Should you leave a church if it has a woman pastor?

Reader what y’all think about this?  According to the article women pastors do not meet the qualifications of overseership in a church of God. In all honesty  I have heard some very good women preachers, evangelist, and Bible teachers. I believe you can find support in the Bible for women serving in these positions. I do believe that women should be pastors and teachers in position of spiritual authority over the body of Christ. I agree that some women have usurped these positions, and other women have stepped in to fill a void where men have not honoured their duty in the church.

  1. ABSOLUTELY. These silly women are living in REBELLION!

  2. I think it's okay under extinuating circumstances. If a pastor dies or whatever and the only person qualified in that church is a woman, then let her do it.

  3. Some people actually believe that it's ok for men to marry men and women to marry women but these are people who are entitled to their opinion. Just like this particular topic. People are entitled to their opinion. But what it all boils down to is what does the Father's Word say. For it is the final authority on any and all things created. For one to say that it is not the final authority would cause one to question in whom do they believe. Often times when flesh get in the way it becomes what God said vs what we think is right.

    1. Amen "Not a Fan".

Doesn't matter Ms. Maffatt a pastor dies. Death is never an opportunity to disobey. Death should be an opportunity to GET RIGHT. Sorry, can't play the "only qualified" card for this one.

I don't know how many times I've quoted here Ecclesiasticus 3:24. “For many are deceived by their own vain opinion; and an evil suspicion hath overthrown their judgment.”

I Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

And I've already addressed Deborah and this being Paul's word vs the inspired word of GOD.

No need to bring those issues up again.

  4. Personally I would NEVER join a church with a woman pastor or co-pastor. Dealing with Sara Utterbach at RLCC in New York was the worst church experience of my life.

  5. Hello everyone. My wife did. She was in the military in the beautiful island of Guam. Where black folks have the first site so, LOL. That's another story. That was a church in this location that was ran by a woman she was the pastor. It was an absolute nightmare because everything was 100% emotional. This particular female pastor with conjure up stories that did not exist against others within our congregation. She would use this against them in order to in a weird strange way to pull more money within the church. It was literally all about her. My wife got out of there in a hurry. She promised herself to never be a part of a church to where the lady was the pastor and the head. Female pastors tend to use this platform to show they can muscle a man right now. I'm so sorry ladies, you are beautiful in every aspect God has created you, but the head of a church, I do not believe in. Now don't get me wrong, there are some men who should have never have been in charge of the church. It's all about the order.

  6. Galatians 3:26-28 tells us their is no male or female, in the Spirit, we are all one (equal).

The women at the tomb on Resurrection morning were the first to take the gospel message. Jesus told them to go tell the disciples! MARK 16:1-8

Jesus told them to GO! and women have been going ever since. But just like some of the men, some were called and some just went!!

    1. You sound like an angry black female who hates black men, and don't have a husband. You will do whatsoever in your power to control men.

    2. 8

That's amazing! Presenting scriptures that support God using whatever vessel He wants to makes me sound like a man hater?!! LOL! Well, guess what that makes YOU sound like?

Man hater? Not at all! I'm married and have been for almost 38 years.

When it comes to spiritual matters, I don't look at gender. God used women in the old and new testaments and He still uses women today! He will use any clean and willing vessel. No prior experience needed. He will give you OJT, on the job training. The scripture says, open your mouth and He will fill it, He will give the words/message.

This is no way means a person should not go to theology school and study and prepare their messages.

You have probably stunted your spiritual growth by not feeding from the Word presented by a female. The Word is the Word.

Maybe if you were hungry enough, you would eat from the Word given by sisters.
All teaching and preaching is supposed to line up with the Holy Bible, whether given by a male or female.

Lastly, how is a woman who teaches or preaches the Word of God controlling a man?

To each his own. No problem for me if you want to continue in ignorance. God bless!

    3. If she is teaching a man she is violating Scriptures.

"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."
      1 Timothy 2:12

Obedience is better than sacrifice (and OJT by the way).

    4. Women are to be in silence? I guess they better get off the praise team, out of the choir, don't teach Sunday School or read the announcements, be greeters--just be silent!

In Jewish times, the men and women sat on different sides of the sanctuary. When a woman heard the minister say something she didn't understand, she would yell out across the room to her husband and ask what it meant, thereby causing a disturbance to the service. That's why Paul said let the women keep quiet in church and ask their husbands at home when they didn't understand something.

As far as a woman teaching the Word of God, I don't think it can get any plainer than Jesus telling the women to GO! and tell the disciples, to Paul acknowledging women who were in ministry and the divinely inspired word of God which says there is NO male or female, we are all one. It is the Holy Ghost that is the teacher and He operates in the body of whomever is yielded.

What about churches that are lead by a male, and the Pastor allows the Lord to use a female vessel to minister? To usurp authority means to TAKE a position of power or importance ILLEGALLY or BY FORCE. The Holy Ghost endows and gifts females and many of the pastors recognize the gifting and make room for them to minister in the services.

The scripture is right! A woman should not USURP or TAKE authority! I've NEVER heard of that happening!! I'm sure if a woman USURPED AUTHORITY, the pastor would have her sat down or put out the church.

I have heard of God calling women to minister and I have heard of Pastors allowing women to minister in their churches and operate in the gifts of the Spirit. That is operating in divine order and under the authority of the under shepherd/pastor. Jesus Christ is the Chief Shepherd. It is He who has broken down the middle wall of partition {Ephesian 2:14}, not just between Jews and Gentiles, but also between males and females. It's spiritual. We are one in the spirit. There is no male Holy Ghost or a female Holy Ghost.

I will add that although God calls female vessels to minister, some females imitate males when they minister. A lady should be a lady at all times.

    5. Paul also ADMONISHED SLAVES to OBEY THEIR MASTERS!! Now how bout THEM apples?!! You see, we as BLACK people reject slavery but some here try to cherry pick and choose certain Scriptures that Paul said! (I'm looking squarely at a certain individual who frequents here).
Uh oh...I feel a preaching up n my bones!!!

      ---House Negroes get outta here!!--

      (PUN Intended!)

    6. Say all you want mouthy lady (I bet you are a handful to your husband") the Word of the LORD says and again I repeat "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." 1 Timothy 2:12

Has nothing to do with Jesus telling to GO!

    7. Look Uppity...

He sure did tell the slaves to obey they masters. What, he should have told them to disobey?

I gotta give it to you, your little pun was kinda funny. LOL...

I just listen to the last post, Jamaal preaching about MaDea, and thought you and Jamaal should do a tag team, he preach MaDEA and YOU preach Fred and Lamont.

You two will make a great pair of false prophets.

    8. K

God bless you both!! You have a right to believe whatever you want!!

I'll continue being lead by the Holy Ghost in this and all matters that pertain to my salvation and spiritusl maturation.

    9. You are not being led by the Holy Ghost if you misunderstand and disobey.

"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." 1 Corinthians 14:33

"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."
      1 Timothy 2:12

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Ephesians 5:23

"Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;" I Peter 3:1

      Respect and honor your husband.

Ask him, honey what are your plans for us as a couple? What do you see me doing to help you accomplish them?

What are your plans for our family? What do you see me doing to help you accomplish them?

Stop being overly concerned about woman in leadership at church

BUILD YOUR HOME because a wise woman builds here home.

God is a GOD of ORDER. He has a blessing for ALL who are a part of HIS PLAN.

REPENT for you 38 years as a nag and being a rebellious and contentious woman.

And watch the LORD bless you and your family.

    10. Remember a meek spirit is one void of self and pride. A quite spirit is one void of noise. You can have a voice and not be noisy (full of distortion - like you rant and rave about women being preacher).

    11. @GETOUTTAHERE, If you knew how blessed I am, the spirit of jealously would probably rise up in you and cause you to go off on a tangent about Christians having material things. (I don't put my trust in things, but in God who gives me all things to richly enjoy, I Tim. 6:17.)

Your posts always SHOW the fruit of the spirit (love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance) and you EXTEND these fruit to those you disagree with.

      Yeah, right!

I am not fooled by a pseudo-Christian. A person spouting off with name calling and hatred does not know the Father and is deceived. (I John 4:11-21) (I John 1:6- 10) You should repent for your self-righteous attitude and for calling the saints of God out of their names.

    12. No maam...

I will never call a saint of God a name. I will however call an individual who mocks God a "cockroach".

I'd loved to hear about how blessed YOU are, especially if it does not have anything to do with material things. I could care less about your things.

    13. If you could care less about my things, WHY DID YOU BRING IT UP?

You made the assumption that I am not currently blessed when you said, "Repent...and watch the Lord bless you and your family."

I AM blessed right now! In spirit. In soul. In body. And materially.

      Be blessed Rotten Fruit!

    14. Wait a minute. Back up. I didn't bring up your things. YOU DID, signifying I would be jealous and go off about Christians having MATERIAL things. Then I said I could care less about your things. Get it right maam..
