Here We Go Again, Another Pastor Removed From The Pulpit, Due To Moral Failing.

Reader, James Dobson wrote in 1998 “We estimate that approximately 1,500 pastors leave their assignments each month, due to moral failure, spiritual burnout or contention within their local congregations.” How sad that so many well-intended shepherds who feel a calling to lead spiritual flocks fall due to moral failing.

Michael Hodges, son of the founder and senior pastor of the nearly 40,000-member Church of the Highlands in Alabama, has been removed as pastor of the church's Greystone campus due to a moral failing. Speaking at the church's ReCreate Women's Conference on Sept. 30, Senior Pastor Chris Hodges revealed that his son was no longer the Greystone campus pastor after the moral failing but gave no further details on the matter, according to The Christian Post contacted Church of the Highlands for further comment on the removal of Michael Hodges. A message left for a spokesperson is still pending a response.

  1. Didn’t we just have this same story a few months ago with FRED PRICE SON???

I am going to beat this dead horse some more.

Church leaders SHOULD NEVER hand down the leadership to their children.

Church IS NOT A BUSINESS, and shouldn’t be handed down to the next of kin as if it were a business.

    1. @ Cop,

Such situations allow ordinary folk to see the fruit (Matthew 7:20) of these Mega Church Preachers.

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart." (Proverbs 22:6).

There's a stark contrast between what these preachers preach at the pulpit and how they raise their children. The children live out what they see their parents do at home and NOT when they are around the congregation.

    2. Nothing was handed down to anyone. The son was simply the campus pastor of one of their many campuses.

    3. Exactly!!! I love the Hodges' family and COTH!!! Most self deprecating man you'll ever see in the pulpit. I was at re-Create this year and it was so moving when he came out to speak to us. We all prayed for them and it was so sweet. We are ALL fallen....and we are called to love one another no matter what. There but by the grace of God goes me, is all I can say...And yes, I doubt there was any nepotism going on there...He's so obviously a man who doesn't make the first move without God!!
