Bishop T.D.Jakes Said, If You Obey GOD You Will Never Be Broke Another Day In Your Life???

Reader Megachurch Pastor T.D. Jakes tweeted the following doing last Sunday morning service at the Potterhouse in Dallas TX: 'If You Obey God, You Will Never Be Broke.' Critics denounce the tweet as being false. This is the lie people believe then fall away when it doesn't come true......my Bible says God will supply your needs not your bank account. Thoughts??

  1. Allow me to destroy TD Jakes' statements right here right now with his own words from just a few weeks ago. Why do you even have to do the math Jakes sir? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVpd0ctfUwA
Now, he seems to have forgotten John 16:33 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

    1. By your statements at that very meeting Jakes', I thought if you'd just obey God, whether it be 40%, 60% or whatever.... you wouldn't be broke anyway. Right? Again.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVpd0ctfUwA

  3. Bishop Jakes must have bumped his head during his trip to Africa. Or, maybe he picked up a condition that caused his thinking and memory of the Bible to off kilter.

Certainly, he hasn't forgotten his days in W.V. when he was diligently and fervently obeying God, but was coming up short $. I've heard his testimony many times.

Bishop Jakes knows this statement is false and is against Biblical teaching and what many of the Apostle and saints in the Bible (and in our times) experienced.

My question is, WHY in the world would Bishop Jakes make such an outrageously false declaration?

  4. Perhaps Jakes can clean this up by saying his twitter feed was hacked???? I dunno.........

  7. He is a liar and his statement is full of lies. There are plenty of people's that obey GOD and they aren't millionaires nor are financially able to be able to have everything there hearts desires. That's preaching and teaching that false prosperity gospel. He is right he won't be broke as long as folks keep giving him there hard earned money he and his family will continue to live the glamours life of luxury. I don't believe in paying tithes JEWS are GOD'S CHOSEN and they don't pay. So why should I. And I grew up around them and have them in my family. And I don't know a poor one.

  8. some of y'all are pathetic. Y'all negroes don't read your bible. This man is spot on.

    Exodus 19:5-6New International Version (NIV)

5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, 6 you[a] will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”

    1. God Was Talking To The Nation Of Israel. If You, Studied The Word God, You Would Know That. Shalom

    2. Well in theory you would be right however we know that the nation of Israel is Synonymous with Gods chosen people, i.e. Believers. Any student of the word should know that. Since you're so learned, does this scripture from the word of God "not apply" either? I'll wait...

      Deuteronomy 28New International Version (NIV)

28 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

    3. D.V. you are correct. This scripture is speaking of the Children of Israel, the Jews. Plus, it says they will BE a treasure (to God), precious to God. It does not say they will have treasures. However, we know that there are many wealthy Jews, but not all of them. Bishop Jakes is incorrect and the statement false.

    4. Lol!!! The "Jews" y'all talking bout ain't even Israelites, they're Jew"ish" y'all think these lil white folk wearing hats is the real Jews??? Haha! keep reading your bible.

    5. Jewish could mean those who have converted to Judaism, like the late Sammy Davis Jr. Judaism is a religion not a ethnicity.

The scripture refers to the nation/children of Israel and their descendants. (Ex. The promises of God made to Abraham, Issac, Jacob, etc. )

Some people think the true Jews are the Black Hebrew Israelites.
