So This Is Joel Osteen Answer To Racism, Don't Engaged!?!??!

Reader so this is what Pastor Joel Osteen had to say about the social unrest that's taking place in our country via social media.  Now I can see his point with some things that a difference of an opinion but is Joel saying MLK Jr should not have engaged? And that one should not engage standing in protest to violence? Women's Rights? Bullying? ETC! I think maybe he needs to reflect on what he wrote. Heck, we would still be enslaved as a race of people if someone hadn't engaged.

Perhaps he meant it differently and need to clarify but this being so general can be taken many ways and if he means we should not engage to stand up to those being violent, racists, misogynistic etc then I totally disagree with him. Joel, I'm so disappointed in you. I would expect more from a man of God ... And especially from YOU! Disheartened to see so many Christians, including many of our pastors/preachers/teachers, not standing bold and condemning this torch carrying, death chanting alt-right, neo-nazi, group of white males.

Ann, I love Pastor Joel teaching but I disagree with him here. Somethings are so wrong, that one must engage to prevent further wrongs, and to protect what is right and the innocent. And there are plenty of Bible verses speaking to just that.

    1. Joel Osteen is a weak leader,I feel as if this is beating around the bush instead of addressing the real issues head on.

  2. Ms. Ann,one has to stand up against what is wrong in our society. Standing up means fully engaging. It's the idea that you're either a solution or part of the problem. I can't believe Pastor Joel suggested that we don't say anything.

38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[a] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.

  5. This just helps confirm his continued reputation as a cream puff of a pastor.

Won't mention sin or hell in his sermons,
Won't openly claim Christ Is the only way,
    And
This LUKE WARM RESPONSE to racist.

If he were talking to a room full of 7 year olds, he is correct.
But this is no way to encourage men to confront racism.

Joel needs to stay on the porch while REAL MEN FIGHT FOR FAITH.

    2. When the soldiers literally made fun of him and posted above his head,
"This Is Jesus, The King Of The Jews."In other words he died, not just to save us all, but in the face of this sort of racist put down by the soldiers, Jesus allowed himself to be a sacrifice for us all. Now. I do understand what you're saying. In today's time, what would Jesus do? I believe the exact same thing. God Bless.

  8. Miss Ann,

Osteen would like to sound like he cares, but he doesn't. He is being neutral to ensure that the collection plates/buckets don't return unto him void.

So he has to say something to his sheeple that is sweet and nice. Come Sunday morning, he will have his church filled with a diverse range of skin tones. The way he would like to keep it.

  9. The LORD is my Shepherd, that is exactly what he is doing! Trying to appease his followers so that it won't affect his money. If WHITE pastors spoke out against racism their churches would be empty.

  10. If I said it once, I'll say it again:the black church, regardless of what many has against it, is the right church. Yes I said it. The Black Church is the Right Church.

  11. Joel is a disgrace of pastor less more a man. He isn't going to say anything that would hurt his fan base. He isn't luke warm he is just cold. You are right the Black Church is the only CHURCH. These crazy folks say or do anything that makes them feel good. Joel isn't in the real world he is living in his fantasy world which he lives all the time.

    1. Sory, the only church is THE CHURCH, not something man designs or declares. The Word provides a clear definition of what the church is and its not black, white, red or brown. When we put ourselves in camps of color, we are contrary to the will of God.
